1 Timothy 6

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Al those under the yoke of slavery must have unqualified respect for their masters, so that the name ofGod and our teaching are not brought into disrepute.	1 Quanti stanno sotto il giogo come schiavi, stimino degni di ogni onore i loro padroni, affinché non vengano bestemmiati il nome di Dio e la dottrina (evangelica).
2 Those whose masters are believers are not to respect them less because they are brothers; on thecontrary, they should serve them al the better, since those who have the benefit of their services are believersand dear to God. This is what you are to teach and urge.	2 Quelli poi che hanno padroni credenti, non manchino loro di riguardo per il fatto che sono fratelli, ma li servano meglio proprio perché coloro che ricevono il beneficio dei loro servizi sono credenti e amati (da Dio). Queste cose inségnale e incùlcale.
3 Anyone who teaches anything different and does not keep to the sound teaching which is that of ourLord Jesus Christ, the doctrine which is in accordance with true religion,	3 Se poi qualcuno insegna cose diverse e non aderisce alle sane parole, che sono quelle del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, e alla dottrina secondo pietà,
4 is proud and has no understanding, but rather a weakness for questioning everything and arguing aboutwords. Al that can come of this is jealousy, contention, abuse and evil mistrust;	4 è accecato dall'orgoglio e non sa nulla, pur essendo preso dalla febbre dei cavilli e dei litigi di parole: da tali cose hanno origine le invidie, le contese, le maldicenze, i sospetti maligni,
5 and unending disputes by people who are depraved in mind and deprived of truth, and imagine thatreligion is a way of making a profit.	5 le lotte di uomini guasti nelle loro menti e che si sono privati della verità appunto perché stimano che la pietà sia una fonte di guadagno.
6 Religion, of course, does bring large profits, but only to those who are content with what they have.	6 Certo, la pietà è un grande guadagno: congiunta però al sapersi contentare!
7 We brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it;	7 Niente infatti abbiamo portato in questo mondo, ed è appunto per questo che niente potremo neppure portare via.
8 but as long as we have food and clothing, we shal be content with that.	8 Avendo però di che nutrirci e il necessario per coprirci, accontentiamoci di queste cose.
9 People who long to be rich are a prey to trial; they get trapped into all sorts of foolish and harmfulambitions which plunge people into ruin and destruction.	9 Coloro, infatti, che vogliono diventar ricchi, incappano nella tentazione, nel laccio (di Satana) e in molteplici desideri insensati e nocivi, i quali sommergono gli uomini nella rovina e nella perdizione.
10 'The love of money is the root of all evils' and there are some who, pursuing it, have wandered awayfrom the faith and so given their souls any number of fatal wounds.	10 Poiché radice di tutti i mali è l'amore al denaro, per il cui sfrenato desiderio alcuni si sono sviati dalla fede e da se stessi si sono martoriati con molti dolori.
11 But, as someone dedicated to God, avoid al that. You must aim to be upright and religious, fil ed withfaith and love, perseverance and gentleness.	11 Ma tu, o uomo di Dio, fuggi queste cose; ricerca invece la giustizia, la pietà, la fede, la carità, la pazienza, la mansuetudine.
12 Fight the good fight of faith and win the eternal life to which you were cal ed and for which you madeyour noble profession of faith before many witnesses.	12 Combatti il buon combattimento della fede, cerca di conquistare la vita eterna, alla quale sei stato chiamato e per la quale hai confessato la bella confessione davanti a molti testimoni.
13 Now, before God, the source of all life, and before Jesus Christ, who witnessed to his noble professionof faith before Pontius Pilate, I charge you	13 Ti scongiuro, davanti a Dio che vivifica tutte le cose, e davanti a Cristo Gesù che testimoniò la bella confessione sotto Ponzio Pilato,
14 to do al that you have been told, with no faults or failures, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,	14 di conservare immacolato e irreprensibile il comandamento fino alla manifestazione del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo:
15 who at the due time wil be revealed by God, the blessed and only Ruler of al , the King of kings andthe Lord of lords,	15 manifestazione che, nei tempi stabiliti, opererà il beato e unico Sovrano, il Re dei regnanti e Signore dei signori,
16 who alone is immortal, whose home is in inaccessible light, whom no human being has seen or is ableto see: to him be honour and everlasting power. Amen.	16 il solo che possiede l'immortalità e abita una luce inaccessibile, che nessun uomo mai vide né potrà vedere. A lui onore e potenza eterna. Amen!
17 Instruct those who are rich in this world's goods that they should not be proud and should set theirhopes not on money, which is untrustworthy, but on God who gives us richly al that we need for our happiness.	17 Ai ricchi di questo mondo raccomanda di non essere orgogliosi, né di riporre le loro speranze nell'instabilità della ricchezza, ma in Dio che ci provvide abbondantemente di tutto perché ne possiamo godere.
18 They are to do good and be rich in good works, generous in giving and always ready to share-	18 (Raccomanda) loro anche di far del bene, di arricchirsi di opere buone, di essere generosi nel dare, disposti a partecipare agli altri (i loro beni),
19 this is the way they can amass a good capital sum for the future if they want to possess the only lifethat is real.	19 mettendosi da parte un bel capitale per il futuro, onde acquistare la vera vita.
20 My dear Timothy, take great care of al that has been entrusted to you. Turn away from godlessphilosophical discussions and the contradictions of the 'knowledge' which is not knowledge at al ;	20 O Timoteo, custodisci il deposito, schivando le profane vacuità di parole e le opposizioni di una scienza di falso nome,
21 by adopting this, some have missed the goal of faith. Grace be with you.	21 professando la quale taluni si sviarono dalla fede. La grazia sia con voi!
