1 So then, my brothers and dear friends whom I miss so much, my joy and my crown, hold firm in theLord, dear friends.	1 Donc, frères bien-aimés que je voudrais revoir, vous, ma joie et ma couronne, restez fermes dans le Seigneur, mes bien-aimés.
2 I urge Euodia, and I urge Syntyche to come to agreement with each other in the Lord;	2 Je demande à Évodie et je demande à Syntiqué qu’elles travaillent ensemble dans le Seigneur.
3 and I ask you, Syzygus, real y to be a 'partner' and help them. These women have struggled hard for thegospel with me, along with Clement and al my other fel ow-workers, whose names are written in the book of life.	3 Et toi, cher compagnon, je te demande de leur faire bon accueil car avec moi elles ont travaillé dur pour l’Évangile, de même que Clément et mes autres collaborateurs dont les noms sont inscrits au Livre de Vie.
4 Always be joyful, then, in the Lord; I repeat, be joyful.	4 Soyez joyeux dans le Seigneur. Je le répète: soyez joyeux en tout temps.
5 Let your good sense be obvious to everybody. The Lord is near.	5 Que tous vous trouvent accueillants. Le Seigneur est proche.
6 Never worry about anything; but tel God all your desires of every kind in prayer and petition shotthrough with gratitude,	6 Que rien ne vous tienne préoccupés; exposez plutôt vos demandes à Dieu à tout moment dans la prière, et joignez l’action de grâces à la supplication.
7 and the peace of God which is beyond our understanding wil guard your hearts and your thoughts inChrist Jesus.	7 Alors la paix de Dieu que rien n’arrête viendra garder vos cœurs et vos esprits dans le Christ Jésus.
8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be fil ed with everything that is true, everything that is honourable,everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire -- with whatever is good andpraiseworthy.	8 À part cela, frères, arrêtez-vous à tout ce qui est vrai, ce qui est saint, ce qui est juste, ce qui est pur, ce qui est fraternel, ce qui est noble, et à toutes les valeurs morales qu’on peut admirer.
9 Keep doing everything you learnt from me and were told by me and have heard or seen me doing. Thenthe God of peace will be with you.	9 Faites ce qu’on vous a enseigné et que vous avez accueilli, ce que vous avez appris de moi et avez vu chez moi, et le Dieu de paix sera avec vous.
10 As for me, I am full of joy in the Lord, now that at last your consideration for me has blossomed again;though I recognise that you really did have consideration before, but had no opportunity to show it.	10 J’ai été très heureux dans le Seigneur en voyant refleurir votre préoccupation pour moi. Elle était toujours là, mais l’occasion vous manquait.
11 I do not say this because I have lacked anything; I have learnt to manage with whatever I have.	11 Ce n’est pas le besoin qui me fait parler car j’ai appris à me suffire,
12 I know how to live modestly, and I know how to live luxuriously too: in every way now I have masteredthe secret of al conditions: ful stomach and empty stomach, plenty and poverty.	12 je sais vivre avec rien et je sais vivre dans l’abondance. De mille manières je suis entraîné pour la faim comme pour la satiété, pour le manque et pour l’abondance;
13 There is nothing I cannot do in the One who strengthens me.	13 je peux tout en celui qui me fortifie.
14 Al the same, it was good of you to share with me in my hardships.	14 Mais vous avez bien fait de prendre part à mes épreuves.
15 In the early days of the gospel, as you of Philippi wel know, when I left Macedonia, no church otherthan yourselves made common account with me in the matter of expenditure and receipts. You were the onlyones;	15 Vous le savez, Philippiens, quand je suis parti de Macédoine, dans les débuts de l’Évangile, aucune Église ne m’a ouvert un compte d’avoirs et de dettes: il n’y a eu que vous.
16 and what is more, you have twice sent me what I needed in Thessalonica.	16 Et quand j’étais à Thessalonique, par deux fois vous m’avez envoyé ce dont j’avais besoin.
17 It is not the gift that I value most; what I value is the interest that is mounting up in your account.	17 Ce n’est pas que je coure après vos dons; je désire plutôt que les intérêts s’accumulent sur votre compte.
18 I have al that I need and more: I am ful y provided, now that I have received from Epaphroditus theoffering that you sent, a pleasing smel , the sacrifice which is acceptable and pleasing to God.	18 Mais de fait j’ai assez et plus qu’assez. Je suis dans l’abondance avec ce que j’ai reçu d’Épaphrodite de votre part. C’était là une offrande authentique, agréable à Dieu et dont le parfum monte jusqu’à lui.
19 And my God will fulfil al your needs out of the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.	19 Mon Dieu à son tour fera face à toutes vos nécessités selon la richesse de sa Gloire, dans le Christ Jésus.
20 And so glory be to God our Father, for ever and ever. Amen.	20 Gloire soit à Dieu notre Père pour les siècles des siècles! Amen.
21 My greetings to every one of God's holy people in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me sendyou their greetings.	21 Mes saluts dans le Christ vont à tous les saints.
22 Al God's holy people send you their greetings, especially those of Caesar's household.	22 Tous les frères qui sont avec moi vous saluent, spécialement ceux du palais de l’empereur.
23 May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.	23 Que la grâce du Christ Jésus, le Seigneur, soit toujours avec votre esprit.
