Philippians 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 So if in Christ there is anything that will move you, any incentive in love, any fel owship in the Spirit, anywarmth or sympathy -- I appeal to you,	1 Si la exhortación en nombre de Cristo tiene algún valor, si algo vale el consuelo que brota del amor o la comunión en el Espíritu, o la ternura y la compasión,
2 make my joy complete by being of a single mind, one in love, one in heart and one in mind.	2 les ruego que hagan perfecta mi alegría, permaneciendo buen unidos. Tengan un mismo amor, un mismo corazón, un mismo pensamiento.
3 Nothing is to be done out of jealousy or vanity; instead, out of humility of mind everyone should givepreference to others,	3 No hagan nada por espíritu de discordia o de vanidad, y que la humildad los lleve a estimar a los otros como superiores a ustedes mismos.
4 everyone pursuing not selfish interests but those of others.	4 Que cada uno busque no solamente su propio interés, sino también el de los demás.
5 Make your own the mind of Christ Jesus:	5 Tengan los mismos sentimientos de Cristo Jesús.
6 Who, being in the form of God, did not count equality with God something to be grasped.	6 El, que era de condición divina, no consideró esta igualdad con Dios como algo que debía guardar celosamente:
7 But he emptied himself, taking the form of a slave, becoming as human beings are; and being in everyway like a human being,	7 al contrario, se anonadó a sí mismo, tomando la condición de servidor y haciéndose semejante a los hombres. Y presentándose con aspecto humano,
8 he was humbler yet, even to accepting death, death on a cross.	8 se humilló hasta aceptar por obediencia la muerte y muerte de cruz.
9 And for this God raised him high, and gave him the name which is above al other names;	9 Por eso, Dios lo exaltó y le dio el Nombre que está sobre todo nombre,
10 so that al beings in the heavens, on earth and in the underworld, should bend the knee at the name ofJesus	10 para que al nombre de Jesús, se doble toda rodilla en el cielo, en la tierra y en los abismos,
11 and that every tongue should acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord, to the glory of God the Father.	11 y toda lengua proclame para gloria de Dios Padre: «Jesucristo es el Señor».
12 So, my dear friends, you have always been obedient; your obedience must not be limited to timeswhen I am present. Now that I am absent it must be more in evidence, so work out your salvation in fear andtrembling.	12 Por eso, queridos míos, ustedes que siempre me han obedecido, trabajen por su salvación con temor y temblor, no solamente cuando estoy entre ustedes, sino mucho más ahora que estoy ausente.
13 It is God who, for his own generous purpose, gives you the intention and the powers to act.	13 Porque Dios es el que produce en ustedes el querer y el hacer, conforme a su designio de amor.
14 Let your behaviour be free of murmuring and complaining	14 Procedan en todo sin murmuraciones ni discusiones:
15 so that you remain faultless and pure, unspoilt children of God surrounded by a deceitful andunderhand brood, shining out among them like bright stars in the world,	15 así serán irreprochables y puros, hijos de Dios sin mancha, en medio de una generación extraviada y pervertida, dentro de la cual ustedes brillan como haces de luz en el mundo,
16 proffering to it the Word of life. Then I shall have reason to be proud on the Day of Christ, for it wil notbe for nothing that I have run the race and toiled so hard.	16 mostrándole la Palabra de Vida. De esa manera, el Día de Cristo yo podré gloriarme de no haber trabajado ni sufrido en vano.
17 Indeed, even if my blood has to be poured as a libation over your sacrifice and the offering of yourfaith, then I shal be glad and join in your rejoicing-	17 Y aunque mi sangre debiera derramarse como libación sobre el sacrificio y la ofrenda sagrada, que es la fe de ustedes, yo me siento dichoso y comparto su alegría;
18 and in the same way, you must be glad and join in my rejoicing.	18 También ustedes siéntanse dichosos y alégrense conmigo.
19 I hope, in the Lord Jesus, to send Timothy to you soon, so that my mind may be set at rest when I hearhow you are.	19 Espero, con la ayuda del Señor Jesús, enviarles muy pronto a Timoteo para tener noticias de ustedes y experimentar yo mismo un alivio.
20 There is nobody else that I can send who is like him and cares as sincerely for your well-being;	20 Porque no encuentro a otro, que tome tan a pecho como él los asuntos de ustedes.
21 they al want to work for themselves, not for Jesus Christ.	21 Todos los demás buscan sus propios intereses y no los de Cristo Jesús.
22 But you know what sort of person he has proved himself, working with me for the sake of the gospellike a son with his father.	22 Ya saben que él ha dado pruebas de su virtud, porque sirvió conmigo a la causa del Evangelio, como un hijo junto a su padre.
23 That is the man, then, that I am hoping to send to you immediately I can make out what is going tohappen to me;	23 Por eso espero enviarlo, apenas se aclare mi situación.
24 but I am confident in the Lord that I shal come myself, too, before long.	24 Por otra parte, tengo confianza en el Señor de que pronto podré ir personalmente.
25 Nevertheless I thought it essential to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother and fel ow-worker andcompanion-in-arms since he came as your representative to look after my needs;	25 He creído que era necesario enviarles de nuevo a Epafrodito, mi hermano, colaborador y compañero de lucha, a quien ustedes enviaron para que me asistiera en mis necesidades.
26 because he was missing you al and was worrying because you had heard that he was il .	26 El tenía un gran deseo de volver a verlos a todos, y estaba muy preocupado porque ustedes se habían enterado de su enfermedad.
27 Indeed he was seriously il and nearly died; but God took pity on him -- and not only on him but also onme, to spare me one grief on top of another.	27 En efecto, estuvo enfermo y a punto de morir, pero Dios se compadeció de él, y no sólo de él, sino también de mí, para que yo no tuviera otro dolor, además de los que ya tengo.
28 So I am sending him back as promptly as I can so that you wil have the joy of seeing him again, andthat wil be some comfort to me in my distress.	28 Ahora me apresuro a enviárselo, a fin de que su presencia los llene de gozo, y yo, por mi parte, quede menos triste.
29 Welcome him in the Lord, then, with al joy; hold people like him in honour,	29 Recíbanlo en el Señor, con mucha alegría, y tengan en gran estima a personas como él.
30 because it was for Christ's work that he came so near to dying, risking his life to do the duty to mewhich you could not do yourselves.	30 Porque él estuvo al borde de la muerte por la obra de Cristo, exponiendo su vida para suplirlos a ustedes en el servicio que no podían prestarme directamente.
