1 Corinthians 16

1 Now about the collection for God's holy people; you are to do the same as I prescribed for thechurches in Galatia.	1 Quarito alle collette che si fanno per i santi, fate anche voi come ho prescritto alle Chiese della Galazia:
2 On the first day of the week, each of you should put aside and reserve as much as each can spare; donot delay the col ection til I arrive.	2 ogni primo giorno della settimana ciascuno di voi metta da parte e accumuli a casa quel che gli parrà, per non aspettare a far collette quando io sarò venuto.
3 When I come, I wil send to Jerusalem with letters of introduction those people you approve to deliveryour gift;	3 E quando sarò da voi, quelli che avrete eletti li manderò con lettere a portare il vostro dono a Gerusalemme.
4 if it is worth my going too, they can travel with me.	4 E se la cosa meriterà che ci vada anch'io, mi accompagneranno.
5 In any case, I shal be coming to you after I have passed through Macedonia, as I have to go throughMacedonia;	5 Or io verrò quando sarò passato per la Macedonia, passerò infatti per la Macedonia;
6 and I may be staying some time with you, perhaps wintering, so that you can start me on my nextjourney, wherever I may be going.	6 e forse mi tratterrò presso di voi, forse ci passerò anche l'inverno, affinché voi mi accompagniate dovunque dovrò andare.
7 I do not want to make only a passing visit to you, and I am hoping to spend quite a time with you, theLord permitting.	7 Questa volta poi non voglio vedervi di passaggio, ma spero di fermarmi un po' di tempo da voi, se lo permetterà il Signore.
8 But I shal remain at Ephesus until Pentecost,	8 Or io mi tratterrò in Efeso fino alla Pentecoste;
9 for a very promising door is standing wide open to me and there are many against us.	9 perchè mi si è aperta una porta grande e spaziosa, e gli avversari son numerosi.
10 If Timothy comes, make sure that he has nothing to fear from you; he is doing the Lord's work, justas I am,	10 Se vien Timoteo, procurate che stia tra voi senza timore, perchè egli lavora come me nell'opera del Signore.
11 and nobody is to underrate him. Start him off in peace on his journey to come on to me: the brothersand I are waiting for him.	11 Nessuno adunque lo disprezzi; ma accompagnatelo benignamente, affinchè torni da me, che l'aspetto coi fratelli.
12 As for our brother Apollos, I urged him earnestly to come to you with the brothers, but he was quitefirm that he did not want to go yet, and he wil come when he finds an opportunity.	12 Quanto al fratello Apollo, vi fo sapere d'averlo molto pregato, perchè venisse da voi coi fratelli, ma, veramente, di venire ora non ne ha avuto voglia; verrà però quando ne avrà l'opportunità.
13 Be vigilant, stay firm in the faith, be brave and strong.	13 Vegliate, siate costanti nella fede, operate virilmente e fortificatevi.
14 Let everything you do be done in love.	14 Tutte le vostre cose sian fatte con carità.
15 There is something else I must urge you to do, brothers. You know how Stephanas' family have beenthe first-fruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to the service of God's holy people;	15 Vi raccomando poi, o fratelli, giacché ben conoscete la casa di Stefana, quella di Fortunato e quella di Acaico, che sono le primizie dell'Acaia e si sono consacrati al servizio dei santi,
16 I ask you in turn to put yourselves at the service of people like this and all that work with them in thisarduous task.	16 di essere anche voi sottomessi a tali persone e a chiunque coopera e si affatica.
17 I am delighted that Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived; they have made up foryour not being here.	17 Intanto io godo della presenza di Stefana, di Fortunato e d'Acaico, i quali hanno riempito il vuoto della vostra assenza,
18 They have set my mind at rest, just as they did yours; you should appreciate people like them.	18 consolando il mio spirito e il vostro. Sappiate dunque apprezzare tali persone.
19 The churches of Asia send their greetings. Aquila and Prisca send their best wishes in the Lord,together with the church that meets in their house.	19 Vi salutan le Chiese dell'Asia. Vi salutano tanto nel Signore Aquila e Priscilla con la chiesa che è in casa loro, ove io sono ospite.
20 Al the brothers send their greetings. Greet one another with the holy kiss.	20 Vi salutano tutti i fratelli. Salutatevi gli uni gli altri col santo bacio.

22 If there is anyone who does not love the Lord, a curse on such a one. Maran atha.	22 Se qualcuno non ama il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo, sia anatema! MaranAtha!
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.	23 La grazia del Signore nostro Gesù Cristo sia con voi!
24 My love is with you all in Christ Jesus.	24 L'amor mio è con voi tutti in Cristo Gesù. Così sia.
