1 Corinthians 16

1 Now about the collection for God's holy people; you are to do the same as I prescribed for thechurches in Galatia.	1 Riguardo poi alla colletta in favore dei santi, fate anche voi come ho ordinato alle Chiese della Galazia.
2 On the first day of the week, each of you should put aside and reserve as much as each can spare; donot delay the col ection til I arrive.	2 Ogni primo giorno della settimana ciascuno di voi metta da parte ciò che è riuscito a risparmiare, perché le collette non si facciano quando verrò.
3 When I come, I wil send to Jerusalem with letters of introduction those people you approve to deliveryour gift;	3 Quando arriverò, quelli che avrete scelto li manderò io con una mia lettera per portare il dono della vostra generosità a Gerusalemme.
4 if it is worth my going too, they can travel with me.	4 E se converrà che vada anch’io, essi verranno con me.
5 In any case, I shal be coming to you after I have passed through Macedonia, as I have to go throughMacedonia;	5 Verrò da voi dopo aver attraversato la Macedonia, perché la Macedonia intendo solo attraversarla;
6 and I may be staying some time with you, perhaps wintering, so that you can start me on my nextjourney, wherever I may be going.	6 ma forse mi fermerò da voi o anche passerò l’inverno, perché prepariate il necessario per dove andrò.
7 I do not want to make only a passing visit to you, and I am hoping to spend quite a time with you, theLord permitting.	7 Non voglio infatti vedervi solo di passaggio, ma spero di trascorrere un po’ di tempo con voi, se il Signore lo permetterà.
8 But I shal remain at Ephesus until Pentecost,	8 Mi fermerò tuttavia a Èfeso fino a Pentecoste,
9 for a very promising door is standing wide open to me and there are many against us.	9 perché mi si è aperta una porta grande e propizia e gli avversari sono molti.
10 If Timothy comes, make sure that he has nothing to fear from you; he is doing the Lord's work, justas I am,	10 Se verrà Timòteo, fate che non si trovi in soggezione presso di voi: anche lui infatti lavora come me per l’opera del Signore.
11 and nobody is to underrate him. Start him off in peace on his journey to come on to me: the brothersand I are waiting for him.	11 Nessuno dunque gli manchi di rispetto; al contrario, congedatelo in pace perché ritorni presso di me: io lo aspetto con i fratelli.
12 As for our brother Apollos, I urged him earnestly to come to you with the brothers, but he was quitefirm that he did not want to go yet, and he wil come when he finds an opportunity.	12 Riguardo al fratello Apollo, l’ho pregato vivamente di venire da voi con i fratelli, ma non ha voluto assolutamente saperne di partire ora; verrà tuttavia quando ne avrà l’occasione.
13 Be vigilant, stay firm in the faith, be brave and strong.	13 Vigilate, state saldi nella fede, comportatevi in modo virile, siate forti.
14 Let everything you do be done in love.	14 Tutto si faccia tra voi nella carità.
15 There is something else I must urge you to do, brothers. You know how Stephanas' family have beenthe first-fruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to the service of God's holy people;	15 Una raccomandazione ancora, fratelli: conoscete la famiglia di Stefanàs. Furono i primi credenti dell’Acaia e hanno dedicato se stessi a servizio dei santi.
16 I ask you in turn to put yourselves at the service of people like this and all that work with them in thisarduous task.	16 Siate anche voi sottomessi verso costoro e verso quanti collaborano e si affaticano con loro.
17 I am delighted that Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived; they have made up foryour not being here.	17 Io mi rallegro della visita di Stefanàs, di Fortunato e di Acàico, i quali hanno supplito alla vostra assenza:
18 They have set my mind at rest, just as they did yours; you should appreciate people like them.	18 hanno allietato il mio spirito e allieteranno anche il vostro. Apprezzate persone come queste.
19 The churches of Asia send their greetings. Aquila and Prisca send their best wishes in the Lord,together with the church that meets in their house.	19 Le Chiese dell’Asia vi salutano. Vi salutano molto nel Signore Aquila e Prisca, con la comunità che si raduna nella loro casa.
20 Al the brothers send their greetings. Greet one another with the holy kiss.	20 Vi salutano tutti i fratelli. Salutatevi a vicenda con il bacio santo.

22 If there is anyone who does not love the Lord, a curse on such a one. Maran atha.	22 Se qualcuno non ama il Signore, sia anàtema! Maràna tha!
23 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with you.	23 La grazia del Signore Gesù sia con voi.
24 My love is with you all in Christ Jesus.	24 Il mio amore con tutti voi in Cristo Gesù!
