1 Corinthians 16

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Now about the collection for God's holy people; you are to do the same as I prescribed for thechurches in Galatia.	1 En cuanto a la colecta en beneficio de los santos de Jerusalén, sigan las mismas instrucciones que di a las Iglesias de Galacia.
2 On the first day of the week, each of you should put aside and reserve as much as each can spare; donot delay the col ection til I arrive.	2 El primer día de la semana, cada uno de ustedes guarde en su casa lo que haya podido ahorrar, para que las donaciones no se recojan solamente a mi llegada.
3 When I come, I wil send to Jerusalem with letters of introduction those people you approve to deliveryour gift;	3 Una vez allí, enviaré a los que ustedes hayan elegido, para que lleven a Jerusalén esas donaciones con una carta de recomendación.
4 if it is worth my going too, they can travel with me.	4 Si conviene que yo también vaya, ellos viajarán conmigo.
5 In any case, I shal be coming to you after I have passed through Macedonia, as I have to go throughMacedonia;	5 Yo iré a verlos, después de atravesar Macedonia donde estaré de paso.
6 and I may be staying some time with you, perhaps wintering, so that you can start me on my nextjourney, wherever I may be going.	6 Tal vez me quede con ustedes algún tiempo, a lo mejor durante todo el invierno, a fin de que me ayuden a proseguir viaje hasta el lugar de mi destino.
7 I do not want to make only a passing visit to you, and I am hoping to spend quite a time with you, theLord permitting.	7 Porque no quiero verlos sólo de paso, sino que espero quedarme algún tiempo entre ustedes, si el Señor lo permite.
8 But I shal remain at Ephesus until Pentecost,	8 Mientras tanto, permaneceré en Efeso hasta Pentecostés,
9 for a very promising door is standing wide open to me and there are many against us.	9 ya que se ha abierto una gran puerta para mi predicación, aunque los adversarios son numerosos.
10 If Timothy comes, make sure that he has nothing to fear from you; he is doing the Lord's work, justas I am,	10 Si llega antes Timoteo, procuren que permanezca entre ustedes sin ninguna clase de temor, porque él trabaja en la obra del Señor de la misma manera que yo.
11 and nobody is to underrate him. Start him off in peace on his journey to come on to me: the brothersand I are waiting for him.	11 Que nadie lo menosprecie. Ofrézcanle los medios necesarios para que se reúna conmigo, porque yo lo estoy esperando con los hermanos.
12 As for our brother Apollos, I urged him earnestly to come to you with the brothers, but he was quitefirm that he did not want to go yet, and he wil come when he finds an opportunity.	12 En cuanto a nuestro hermano Apolo, le insistí mucho para que fuera a visitarlos junto con los hermanos, pero él se negó rotundamente a hacerlo por ahora: irá cuando se le presente la ocasión.
13 Be vigilant, stay firm in the faith, be brave and strong.	13 Estén atentos, permanezcan firmes en la fe, compórtense varonilmente, sean fuertes.
14 Let everything you do be done in love.	14 Todo lo que hagan, háganlo con amor.
15 There is something else I must urge you to do, brothers. You know how Stephanas' family have beenthe first-fruits of Achaia and have devoted themselves to the service of God's holy people;	15 Una recomendación más, hermanos. Ustedes saben que Estéfanas y su familia –los primeros que abrazaron la fe en Acaya– han decidido consagrase al servicio de los hermanos.
16 I ask you in turn to put yourselves at the service of people like this and all that work with them in thisarduous task.	16 Por eso, les ruego que ustedes, a su vez, sean solícitos con ellos, y no sólo con ellos, sino con todos los que colaboran en sus trabajos y esfuerzos.
17 I am delighted that Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaicus have arrived; they have made up foryour not being here.	17 Yo me alegré con la visita de Estéfanas, de Fortunato y de Acaico. Ellos llenaron el vacío que ustedes habían dejado,
18 They have set my mind at rest, just as they did yours; you should appreciate people like them.	18 y han tranquilizado mi espíritu y el de ustedes. Sepan apreciarlos como corresponde.
19 The churches of Asia send their greetings. Aquila and Prisca send their best wishes in the Lord,together with the church that meets in their house.	19 Las iglesias de la provincia de Asia les envían saludos. También los saludan en el Señor, Aquila y Priscila, junto con los hermanos que se congregan en su casa.
20 Al the brothers send their greetings. Greet one another with the holy kiss.	20 Todos los hermanos les envían saludos. Salúdense los unos a los otros con el beso santo.

22 If there is anyone who does not love the Lord, a curse on such a one. Maran atha.	22 ¡Si alguien no ama al Señor, que sea maldito! «El Señor viene».
