NEW JERUSALEM	EINHEITSUBERSETZUNG BIBEL
1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. You trust in God, trust also in me.	1 Euer Herz lasse sich nicht verwirren. Glaubt an Gott und glaubt an mich!
2 In my Father's house there are many places to live in; otherwise I would have told you. I am going nowto prepare a place for you,	2 Im Haus meines Vaters gibt es viele Wohnungen. Wenn es nicht so wäre, hätte ich euch dann gesagt: Ich gehe, um einen Platz für euch vorzubereiten?
3 and after I have gone and prepared you a place, I shall return to take you to myself, so that you maybe with me where I am.	3 Wenn ich gegangen bin und einen Platz für euch vorbereitet habe, komme ich wieder und werde euch zu mir holen, damit auch ihr dort seid, wo ich bin.
4 You know the way to the place where I am going.	4 Und wohin ich gehe - den Weg dorthin kennt ihr.
5 Thomas said, 'Lord, we do not know where you are going, so how can we know the way?'	5 Thomas sagte zu ihm: Herr, wir wissen nicht, wohin du gehst. Wie sollen wir dann den Weg kennen?
6 Jesus said: I am the Way; I am Truth and Life. No one can come to the Father except through me.	6 Jesus sagte zu ihm: Ich bin der Weg und die Wahrheit und das Leben; niemand kommt zum Vater außer durch mich.
7 If you know me, you will know my Father too. From this moment you know him and have seen him.	7 Wenn ihr mich erkannt habt, werdet ihr auch meinen Vater erkennen. Schon jetzt kennt ihr ihn und habt ihn gesehen.
8 Philip said, 'Lord, show us the Father and then we shall be satisfied.' Jesus said to him,	8 Philippus sagte zu ihm: Herr, zeig uns den Vater; das genügt uns.
9 'Have I been with you al this time, Philip, and you stil do not know me? 'Anyone who has seen me hasseen the Father, so how can you say, "Show us the Father"?	9 Jesus antwortete ihm: Schon so lange bin ich bei euch und du hast mich nicht erkannt, Philippus? Wer mich gesehen hat, hat den Vater gesehen. Wie kannst du sagen: Zeig uns den Vater?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? What I say to you I do not speakof my own accord: it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his works.	10 Glaubst du nicht, dass ich im Vater bin und dass der Vater in mir ist? Die Worte, die ich zu euch sage, habe ich nicht aus mir selbst. Der Vater, der in mir bleibt, vollbringt seine Werke.
11 You must believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe iton the evidence of these works.	11 Glaubt mir doch, dass ich im Vater bin und dass der Vater in mir ist; wenn nicht, glaubt wenigstens aufgrund der Werke!
12 In all truth I tell you, whoever believes in me wil perform the same works as I do myself, and wilperform even greater works, because I am going to the Father.	12 Amen, amen, ich sage euch: Wer an mich glaubt, wird die Werke, die ich vollbringe, auch vollbringen und er wird noch größere vollbringen, denn ich gehe zum Vater.
13 Whatever you ask in my name I wil do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.	13 Alles, um was ihr in meinem Namen bittet, werde ich tun, damit der Vater im Sohn verherrlicht wird.
14 If you ask me anything in my name, I wil do it.	14 Wenn ihr mich um etwas in meinem Namen bittet, werde ich es tun.
15 If you love me you wil keep my commandments.	15 Wenn ihr mich liebt, werdet ihr meine Gebote halten.
16 I shall ask the Father, and he wil give you another Paraclete to be with you for ever,	16 Und ich werde den Vater bitten und er wird euch einen anderen Beistand geben, der für immer bei euch bleiben soll.
17 the Spirit of truth whom the world can never accept since it neither sees nor knows him; but you knowhim, because he is with you, he is in you.	17 Es ist der Geist der Wahrheit, den die Welt nicht empfangen kann, weil sie ihn nicht sieht und nicht kennt. Ihr aber kennt ihn, weil er bei euch bleibt und in euch sein wird.
18 I shall not leave you orphans; I shall come to you.	18 Ich werde euch nicht als Waisen zurücklassen, sondern ich komme wieder zu euch.
19 In a short time the world wil no longer see me; but you wil see that I live and you also wil live.	19 Nur noch kurze Zeit, und die Welt sieht mich nicht mehr; ihr aber seht mich, weil ich lebe und weil auch ihr leben werdet.
20 On that day you wil know that I am in my Father and you in me and I in you.	20 An jenem Tag werdet ihr erkennen: Ich bin in meinem Vater, ihr seid in mir und ich bin in euch.
21 Whoever holds to my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and whoever lovesme will be loved by my Father, and I shall love him and reveal myself to him.'	21 Wer meine Gebote hat und sie hält, der ist es, der mich liebt; wer mich aber liebt, wird von meinem Vater geliebt werden und auch ich werde ihn lieben und mich ihm offenbaren.
22 Judas -- not Judas Iscariot -- said to him, 'Lord, what has happened, that you intend to show yourselfto us and not to the world?'	22 Judas - nicht der Judas Iskariot - fragte ihn: Herr, warum willst du dich nur uns offenbaren und nicht der Welt?
23 Jesus replied: Anyone who loves me wil keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we shalcome to him and make a home in him.	23 Jesus antwortete ihm: Wenn jemand mich liebt, wird er an meinem Wort festhalten; mein Vater wird ihn lieben und wir werden zu ihm kommen und bei ihm wohnen.
24 Anyone who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not my own: itis the word of the Father who sent me.	24 Wer mich nicht liebt, hält an meinen Worten nicht fest. Und das Wort, das ihr hört, stammt nicht von mir, sondern vom Vater, der mich gesandt hat.
25 I have said these things to you while still with you;	25 Das habe ich zu euch gesagt, während ich noch bei euch bin.
26 but the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father wil send in my name, wil teach you everythingand remind you of al I have said to you.	26 Der Beistand aber, der Heilige Geist, den der Vater in meinem Namen senden wird, der wird euch alles lehren und euch an alles erinnern, was ich euch gesagt habe.
27 Peace I bequeath to you, my own peace I give you, a peace which the world cannot give, this is mygift to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled or afraid.	27 Frieden hinterlasse ich euch, meinen Frieden gebe ich euch; nicht einen Frieden, wie die Welt ihn gibt, gebe ich euch. Euer Herz beunruhige sich nicht und verzage nicht.
28 You heard me say: I am going away and shal return. If you loved me you would be glad that I amgoing to the Father, for the Father is greater than I.	28 Ihr habt gehört, dass ich zu euch sagte: Ich gehe fort und komme wieder zu euch zurück. Wenn ihr mich lieb hättet, würdet ihr euch freuen, dass ich zum Vater gehe; denn der Vater ist größer als ich.
29 I have told you this now, before it happens, so that when it does happen you may believe.	29 Jetzt schon habe ich es euch gesagt, bevor es geschieht, damit ihr, wenn es geschieht, zum Glauben kommt.
30 I shall not talk to you much longer, because the prince of this world is on his way. He has no powerover me,	30 Ich werde nicht mehr viel zu euch sagen; denn es kommt der Herrscher der Welt. Über mich hat er keine Macht,
31 but the world must recognise that I love the Father and that I act just as the Father commanded.Come now, let us go.	31 aber die Welt soll erkennen, dass ich den Vater liebe und so handle, wie es mir der Vater aufgetragen hat. Steht auf, wir wollen weggehen von hier.
