Deuteronomy 28

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 'But if you faithful y obey the voice of Yahweh your God, by keeping and observing al hiscommandments, which I am laying down for you today, Yahweh your God wil raise you higher than every othernation in the world,	1 Ha hallgatsz az Úr, a te Istened szavára, s megteszed, s megtartod minden parancsát, amelyet ma meghagyok neked, akkor dicsőbbé tesz téged az Úr, a te Istened minden nemzetnél, amely a földön lakik,
2 and al these blessings wil befal and overtake you, for having obeyed the voice of Yahweh your God.	2 s mind rád szállnak, s elérnek téged a következő áldások, feltéve, hogy hallgatsz parancsaira:
3 'You wil be blessed in the town and blessed in the countryside;	3 Áldott leszel a városban, s áldott a mezőn,
4 blessed, the offspring of your body, the yield of your soil, the yield of your livestock, the young of yourcattle and the increase of your flocks;	4 áldott lesz méhednek gyümölcse, földednek gyümölcse, állataid ellése, marháid csordája és juhaid akla.
5 blessed, your basket and your kneading trough.	5 Áldottak lesznek csűrjeid, s áldottak éléstáraid.
6 You wil be blessed in coming home, and blessed in going out.	6 Áldott leszel, ha bemégy és ha kimégy.
7 The enemies who attack you, Yahweh wil defeat before your eyes; they wil advance on you from onedirection and flee from you in seven.	7 Összetöri az Úr színed előtt ellenségeidet, akik ellened támadnak: egy úton jönnek ki ellened, s hét úton futnak el színed elől.
8 Yahweh wil command blessedness to be with you, on your barns and on al your undertakings, andhe wil bless you in the country given you by Yahweh your God.	8 Áldást bocsát az Úr magtáraidra, s kezed minden munkájára, s megáld téged azon a földön, amelyet a te Urad, Istened ad neked.
9 'From you Yahweh wil make a people consecrated to himself, as he has sworn to you, if you keep thecommandments of Yahweh your God and fol ow his ways.	9 Szent népévé emel az Úr téged, amint megesküdött neked, ha megtartod az Úrnak, a te Istenednek parancsait, s az ő útjain jársz,
10 The peoples of the world, seeing that you bear Yahweh's name, wil al be afraid of you.	10 s látni fogja a föld minden népe, hogy te az Úr nevét viseled, s félni fognak tőled.
11 Yahweh wil make you abound in possessions: in the offspring of your body, in the yield of your cattleand in the yield of your soil, in the country which he swore to your ancestors that he would give you.	11 Bőséget ad neked az Úr minden jóban, méhed gyümölcsében, állataid ellésében, s földed gyümölcsében, azon a földön, amely felől megesküdött az Úr atyáidnak, hogy neked adja.
12 For you Yahweh wil open his treasury of rain, the heavens, to give your country its rain at the righttime, and to bless al your labours. You wil make many nations your subjects, yet you wil be subject to none.	12 Megnyitja neked az Úr gazdag kincsesházát, az eget, hogy esőt adjon földednek a maga idejében, s megáldja kezed minden munkáját. Kölcsönt nyújtasz sok nemzetnek, de te senkitől sem veszel kölcsönt.
13 Yahweh wil put you at the head, not at the tail; you wil always be on top and never underneath, ifyou listen to the commandments of Yahweh your God, which I am laying down for you today, and then keepthem and put them into practice,	13 Fejjé tesz téged az Úr, s nem farokká, s felül leszel mindenkor, nem alul, feltéve, hogy hallgatsz az Úr, a te Istened parancsaira, amelyeket ma meghagyok neked, s megtartod és teljesíted őket,
14 not deviating to right or to left from any of the words which I am laying down for you today, byfol owing other gods and serving them.	14 s el nem térsz tőlük sem jobbra, sem balra, s nem követsz és nem tisztelsz más isteneket.
15 'But if you do not obey the voice of Yahweh your God, and do not keep and observe all hiscommandments and laws which I am laying down for you today then all these curses wil befall and overtakeyou.	15 Ha azonban nem akarsz hallgatni az Úrnak, a te Istenednek arra a szavára, hogy tartsd meg és teljesítsd minden parancsát és szertartását, amelyet ma meghagyok neked, akkor mind rád szállnak és elérnek téged a következő átkok:
16 'You wil be accursed in the town and accursed in the countryside;	16 Átkozott leszel a városban, átkozott a mezőn.
17 accursed, your basket and your kneading trough;	17 Átkozott lesz csűröd, s átkozottak éléstáraid.
18 accursed, the offspring of your body, the yield of your soil, the young of your cattle and the increaseof your flock.	18 Átkozott lesz méhed gyümölcse s földed gyümölcse, marháid csordája s juhaid nyája.
19 You wil be accursed in coming home, and accursed in going out.	19 Átkozott leszel, ha bemégy, s átkozott, ha kimégy.
20 'Yahweh wil send a curse on you, a spel , an imprecation on al your labours until you have beendestroyed and quickly perish, because of your perverse behaviour, for having deserted me.	20 Éhséget és ínséget bocsát az Úr rád, s átkot minden dolgodra, amelyet művelsz, amíg csak el nem tipor, s hamarosan el nem pusztít mérhetetlenül gonosz tetteid miatt, amelyekkel elhagytál engem.
21 Yahweh wil fasten the plague on you, until it has exterminated you from the country which you areabout to enter and make your own.	21 Rád szakasztja az Úr a döghalált, míg csak el nem emészt téged arról a földről, amelyet elfoglalni mégy.
22 Yahweh wil strike you down with consumption, fever, inflammation, burning fever, drought, wind-blast, mildew, and these wil pursue you to your ruin.	22 Megver téged az Úr nyavalyával, lázzal, hidegleléssel és gyulladással, továbbá szárazsággal, kártékony időjárással és vetési ragyával, s az üldöz, míg el nem veszel.
23 The heavens above you wil be brass, the earth beneath you iron.	23 Az ég, amely feletted van, olyan lesz, mint az érc s a föld, amelyet tapodsz, olyan, mint a vas.
24 Your country's rain Yahweh wil turn into dust and sand; it will fal on you from the heavens until youperish.	24 Eső gyanánt port ad az Úr földedre, s hamu hull rád az égből, míg csak el nem pusztulsz.
25 Yahweh wil have you defeated by your enemies; you will advance on them from one direction andflee from them in seven; and you wil be a terrifying object-lesson to al the kingdoms of the world.	25 Összeomlaszt téged az Úr ellenségeid előtt: egy úton vonulsz ki ellenük, s hét felé fogsz elfutni előlük, s szétszóródsz a föld minden országába,
26 Your carcase will be carrion for al wild birds and al wild animals, with no one to scare them away.	26 s holttested eledele lesz az ég minden madarának s a föld vadjainak, s nem lesz, aki elűzze őket.
27 'Yahweh wil strike you down with Egyptian ulcers, with swel ings in the groin, with scurvy and theitch, for which you wil find no cure.	27 Megver téged az Úr az egyiptomi fekéllyel, tested azon részén is, amelyen a bélsár távozik, megver rühhel és viszketéssel, úgyhogy kigyógyítani nem tudnak.
28 Yahweh wil strike you down with madness, blindness, distraction of mind,	28 Megver téged az Úr tébolyodással, vaksággal és elmezavarral, s
29 until you grope your way at noon like a blind man groping in the dark, and your steps will lead younowhere. 'You will never be anything but exploited and plundered, with no one to save you.	29 úgy fogsz tapogatózni délben, mint ahogy a vak szokott tapogatózni a sötétben, s nem fogsz célhoz jutni útjaidon. Minden időben sanyargatni fognak és erőszakosan elnyomnak, s nem lesz, aki megszabadítson téged.
30 Get engaged to a woman, another man will have her; build a house, you wil not live in it; plant avineyard, you wil not gather its first-fruits.	30 Feleséget veszel és más fog hálni vele, házat építesz és nem fogsz lakni benne, szőlőt ültetsz és nem szüretelsz belőle.
31 Your ox wil be slaughtered before your eyes and you will eat none of it; your donkey wil be carriedoff in front of you and not be returned to you; your sheep wil be given to your enemies, and no one will come toyour help.	31 Előtted fogják levágni marhádat és te nem eszel belőle, szemed előtt rabolják el szamaradat, s nem adják többé vissza neked, ellenségeidnek adják juhaidat, s nem lesz, aki segítsen téged.
32 Your sons and daughters wil be handed over to another people, and every day you will wear youreyes out watching for them, while your hands are powerless.	32 Fiaid s lányaid más nép hatalmába kerülnek és szemed azt látni fogja és bár egész nap epekedik a látásuk után, nem lesz erő kezedben.
33 A nation hitherto unknown to you wil eat the yield of your soil and of all your hard work. You wilnever be anything but exploited and crushed.	33 Földed gyümölcsét s munkád minden eredményét olyan nép eszi meg, amelyet nem ismersz és sanyargatni fognak mindenkor és elnyomnak minden időben
34 You wil be driven mad by the sights you wil see.	34 és eszedet veszted rémültödben azok miatt, miket látni fog szemed. –
35 Yahweh wil strike you down with foul ulcers on knee and leg, for which you wil find no cure -- fromthe sole of your foot to the top of your head.	35 Megver téged az Úr igen gonosz fekéllyel a térdeden s a lábszáradon, tetőtől talpig, úgyhogy kigyógyítani nem tudnak.
36 'Yahweh wil send away both you and the king whom you have appointed to rule you to a nationunknown either to you or to your ancestors, and there you will serve other gods, made of wood and stone.	36 Elvisz az Úr téged s királyodat, akit majd magad fölé állítasz, egy olyan nemzethez, amelyet nem ismersz és atyáid sem ismertek, s ott más isteneknek fogsz szolgálni: fának és kőnek
37 And you wil be the astonishment, the byword, the laughing-stock of al the peoples where Yahweh istaking you.	37 és közmondás s csúfság tárgyává süllyedsz mindazon népek előtt, amelyek közé majd az Úr elvisz téged.
38 'You wil cast seed in plenty on the fields but harvest little, since the locust wil devour it.	38 Sok magot vetsz a földbe, s keveset gyűjtesz be, mert sáska emészti meg mindet.
39 You wil plant and till your vineyards but not drink the wine or gather the grapes, since the grub willeat them up.	39 Szőlőt fogsz ültetni és művelni, de nem iszol bort és semmit se szedsz róla, mert féreg pusztítja el.
40 You wil grow olive trees throughout your territory but not anoint yourself with the oil, since your olivetrees wil be cut down.	40 Olajfáid lesznek minden határodban, de olajjal meg nem kenheted magad, mert termésed lehull és elpusztul.
41 You wil father sons and daughters but they will not belong to you, since they wil go into captivity.	41 Fiakat s lányokat nemzel, de nem látod hasznukat, mert fogságba hurcolják őket.
42 Al your trees and the whole yield of your soil will be the prey of insects.	42 Ragya emészti meg minden fádat s földed gyümölcsét.
43 'The foreigners living with you wil rise higher and higher at your expense, while you yourself sinklower and lower.	43 A jövevény, aki veled lakik azon a földön, föléd emelkedik, s egyre feljebb kerül, te pedig leszállsz, s egyre lejjebb kerülsz.
44 You wil be subject to them, not they to you; they wil be the ones at the head, and you the one at thetail.	44 Ő fog kölcsönözni neked, s nem te fogsz kölcsönözni neki; ő lesz a fej és te leszel a farok.
45 'Al these curses wil befal you, pursue you and overtake you until you have been destroyed, for nothaving obeyed the voice of Yahweh your God by keeping his commandments and laws which he has laid downfor you.	45 Bizony rád jönnek mindezek az átkok, üldöznek és elérnek téged, míg csak el nem pusztulsz, mivel nem hallgattál az Úr, a te Istened szavára, s nem tartottad meg parancsait és szertartásait, amelyeket megparancsolt neked
46 They wil be a sign and a wonder over you and your descendants for ever.	46 és mint jelek és csodák, rajtad és utódaidon lesznek mindörökké.
47 'For not having joyful y and with happy heart served Yahweh your God, despite the abundance ofeverything,	47 Mivel nem szolgáltál az Úrnak, a te Istenednek, örömmel és szívbéli jókedvvel, bár bőségben volt mindened,
48 you will have to serve the enemy whom Yahweh wil send against you, in hunger, thirst, lack ofclothing and total privation. He will put an iron yoke on your neck, until he has destroyed you.	48 azért éhségben, szomjúságban, mezítelenségben, s teljes ínségben fogsz szolgálni ellenségednek, akit az Úr rád bocsát, s ő vasigát tesz nyakadba, míg csak el nem tipor téged.
49 'Against you Yahweh wil raise a distant nation from the ends of the earth like an eagle taking wing: anation whose language you do not understand,	49 Rád hoz ugyanis az Úr messziről, a föld határának széléről egy nemzetet, amely mint a lecsapó sas, megrohan, amelynek nyelvét nem érted,
50 a nation grim of face, with neither respect for the old, nor pity for the young.	50 egy nagyon arcátlan nemzetet, amely nem tekint öreget, s nem szán meg gyermeket.
51 He wil eat the yield of your cattle and the yield of your soil until you have been destroyed; he willleave you neither wheat, nor wine, nor oil, nor the young of your cattle, nor increase of your flock, until he hasmade an end of you.	51 Megeszi állataid ivadékát és földed gyümölcsét, míg csak el nem pusztulsz, s nem hagy neked gabonát, bort, olajat, marhacsordát s juhnyájat, míg csak el nem veszít
52 He wil besiege you inside al your towns until your loftiest and most strongly fortified walls collapse,on which, throughout your country, you have relied. He wil besiege you inside al the towns throughout yourcountry, given you by Yahweh your God.	52 és össze nem tipor minden városodban s egész földeden le nem omlanak erős és magas falaid, amelyekbe reménységedet helyezted. Ostromzár alá vesz kapuidban, egész földeden, amelyet az Úr, a te Istened majd neked ad,
53 During the siege and in the distress to which your enemy wil reduce you, you wil eat the offspring ofyour own body, the flesh of the sons and daughters given you by Yahweh your God.	53 s a szorongatásban és a pusztításban, mellyel ellenséged nyomorgatni fog, megeszed saját méhed gyümölcsét, fiaid és lányaid húsát, akiket az Úr, a te Istened majd neked adni fog.
54 The gentlest and tenderest of your men wil scowl at his brother, and at the wife whom he embraces,and at his remaining children,	54 Legkényesebb és elpuhultabb férfid is irigységgel néz majd testvérére, s ölében fekvő feleségére,
55 not wil ing to give any of them any of his own children's flesh, which he is eating; because of thesiege and the distress to which your enemy wil reduce you in all your towns, he wil have nothing left.	55 s nem ad nekik fiai húsából, amelyet megenni kénytelen, mivel semmi egyebe sem lesz abban a szorongatásban és ínségben, mellyel ellenségeid pusztítani fognak téged valamennyi kapudon belül.
56 The most refined and fastidious of your women, so refined, so fastidious that she has never venturedto set the sole of her foot to the ground, wil scowl at the husband whom she embraces, and at her son anddaughter, and at the after-birth when it leaves her womb, and at the child to which she has given birth-	56 Az elpuhult és kényeskedő asszony, aki járni sem tudott a földön, s a lábát sem tudta letenni az elpuhultság és a nagy kényeskedés miatt, irigyelni fogja ölében fekvő férjétől fiának s lányának húsát
57 she will hide away and eat them, so complete wil be the starvation resulting from the siege and thedistress to which your enemy wil reduce you in all your towns.	57 meg asszonyi testéből kijövő, szennyes mását, meg újszülött gyermekeit, mert titokban maguk az asszonyok eszik meg ezeket minden más hiányában, abban a szorongatásban és pusztításban, mellyel ellenséged nyomorgatni fog téged kapuidon belül.
58 'If you do not keep and observe al the words of this Law, which are written in this book, in the fear ofthis glorious and awe-inspiring name: Yahweh your God,	58 Ha meg nem tartod, s meg nem teszed ennek a törvénynek minden szavát, amely meg van írva ebben könyvben, s nem féled az Ő dicsőséges és félelmetes nevét, vagyis az Urat, a te Istenedet,
59 Yahweh wil strike you down with monstrous plagues, you and your descendants: with plaguesgrievous and lasting, diseases pernicious and enduring.	59 akkor az Úr megsokasítja csapásaidat s utódaid csapásait, nagy és maradandó csapásokkal, rosszindulatú és tartós betegségekkel sújt,
60 He wil afflict you with al the maladies of Egypt which you used to dread, and they wil fasten on you.	60 mind rád fordítja Egyiptom nyavalyáit, amelyektől annyira féltél, s azok rád ragadnak,
61 What is more, Yahweh wil afflict you with all the plagues and all the diseases not mentioned in thebook of this Law, until you have been destroyed.	61 sőt mindenféle olyan betegséget és csapást is bocsát rád az Úr, amely nincs megírva e törvény könyvében, míg csak össze nem tipor téged.
62 There will only be a smal group of you left, you who were once as numerous as the stars of heaven.'For not having obeyed the voice of Yahweh your God,	62 Ti, akik azelőtt oly sokan voltatok, mint az ég csillagai, kevés számmal maradtok meg, mivel nem hallgattál az Úr, a te Istened szavára.
63 just as Yahweh used to delight in making you happy and in making your numbers grow, so wil hetake delight in ruining you and destroying you. You wil be torn from the country which you are about to enter andmake your own.	63 Ahogyan örömét lelte az Úr bennetek, amikor jót tett veletek és megsokasított titeket, éppúgy örömét fogja lelni akkor, amikor majd eltöröl és kiirt titeket, hogy elvesszetek arról a földről, amelyet elfoglalni mégy.
64 Yahweh wil scatter you throughout every people, from one end of the earth to the other; there youwil serve other gods made of wood and stone, hitherto unknown either to you or to your ancestors.	64 Szétszór téged az Úr mindenféle nép közé, a föld egyik szélétől a másik széléig, s ott szolgálni fogsz más isteneknek, akiket nem ismersz, s atyáid sem ismertek: fának és kőnek.
65 Among these nations there wil be no repose for you, no rest for the sole of your foot; there Yahwehwil give you a quaking heart, weary eyes, halting breath.	65 De még azok között a nemzetek közt sem fogsz megpihenni, s ott sem lesz nyugodalma lábad talpának, mert ott rettegő szívet, elapadó szemet s bánkódás törte lelket ad az Úr neked.
66 Your life ahead of you wil hang in doubt; you wil be afraid day and night, uncertain of your life.	66 Olyan lesz az életed, mintha hajszálon függne előtted, rettegni fogsz éjjel-nappal és nem bízol életedben.
67 In the morning you wil say, "How I wish it were evening!", and in the evening you will say, "How I wish it were morning!", such terror will grip your heart and such sights you wil see!	67 Reggel azt fogod mondani: ‘Bárcsak már este volna’ – és este azt: ‘Bárcsak már reggel volna’ –, szíved félelme miatt, amely rettegéssel tölt el, és amiatt, amit szemeddel látsz.
68 Yahweh wil send you back to Egypt, either by ship or by a road which I promised you would neversee again. And there you wil want to offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as serving men and women, butno one wil buy you.'	68 Visszavisz téged az Úr Egyiptomba, hajókon, azon az úton, amelyről azt mondta neked, hogy azt többé ne lásd, s ott majd el akarjátok adni magatokat ellenségeiteknek rabszolgául, s nem lesz, aki megvegyen rabszolgának.«
69 These are the words of the covenant which Yahweh ordered Moses to make with the Israelites inMoab, in addition to the covenant which he had made with them at Horeb.	69 Ezek voltak annak a szövetségnek az igéi, amely felől azt parancsolta az Úr Mózesnek, hogy kösse meg Izrael fiaival, Moáb földjén, azon a szövetségen felül, amelyet a Hóreben kötött velük.
