Deuteronomy 2

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 'We then turned round and made for the desert, in the direction of the Sea of Suph, as Yahweh hadordered me. For many days we skirted Mount Seir.	1 ثم تحولنا وارتحلنا الى البرية على طريق بحر سوف كما كلمني الرب ودرنا بجبل سعير اياما كثيرة.
2 Yahweh then said to me,	2 ثم كلمني الرب قائلا.
3 "You have gone far enough round this mountain; now turn north.	3 كفاكم دوران بهذا الجبل. تحوّلوا نحو الشمال.
4 And give the people this order: You are about to pass through the territory of your kinsmen, the sons ofEsau who live in Seir. They are afraid of you, and you wil be wel protected.	4 واوص الشعب قائلا. انتم مارّون بتخم اخوتكم بني عيسو الساكنين في سعير فيخافون منكم فاحترزوا جدا.
5 Do not provoke them, for I shall give you none of their land, no, not so much as a foot's length of it. Ihave given the highlands of Seir to Esau as his domain.	5 لا تهجموا عليهم لاني لا اعطيكم من ارضهم ولا وطأة قدم لاني لعيسو قد اعطيت جبل سعير ميراثا.
6 Pay them in money for what food you eat; and pay them in money for the water you drink.	6 طعاما تشترون منهم بالفضة لتأكلوا وماء ايضا تبتاعون منهم بالفضة لتشربوا.
7 Yahweh your God has blessed you in al you do; he has watched over your journeying through this vastdesert. Yahweh your God has been with you these forty years and you have never been in want."	7 لان الرب الهك قد باركك في كل عمل يدك عارفا مسيرك في هذا القفر العظيم. الآن اربعون سنة للرب الهك معك لم ينقص عنك شيء.
8 'So we passed beyond those relatives of ours, the children of Esau who live in Seir, by the road throughthe Arabah, Elath and Ezion-Geber; then, changing direction, we took the road towards the Plains of Moab.	8 فعبرنا عن اخوتنا بني عيسو الساكنين في سعير على طريق العربة على أيلة وعلى عصيون جابر ثم تحولنا ومررنا في طريق برية موآب
9 Yahweh then said to me, "Do not attack Moab, do not provoke him to fight, for I shal give you none ofhis land, since I have given Ar to the children of Lot as their domain."	9 فقال لي الرب لا تعاد موآب ولا تثر عليهم حربا لاني لا اعطيك من ارضهم ميراثا. لاني لبني لوط قد اعطيت عار ميراثا.
10 (At one time the Emim lived there, a great and numerous people, tal as the Anakim;	10 الإيميون سكنوا فيها قبلا. شعب كبير وكثير وطويل كالعناقيين.
11 and, like the Anakim, they were considered to be Rephaim, though the Moabites cal them Emim.	11 هم ايضا يحسبون رفائيين كالعناقيين لكن الموآبيين يدعونهم إيميين.
12 The Horites, too, lived in Seir at one time; these, however, were dispossessed and exterminated bythe children of Esau who settled there in place of them, just as Israel has done in the country given to it byYahweh as a heritage.)	12 وفي سعير سكن قبلا الحوريون فطردهم بنو عيسو وابادوهم من قدامهم وسكنوا مكانهم كما فعل اسرائيل بارض ميراثهم التي اعطاهم الرب.
13 "On your way, then! Cross the Wadi Zered!" 'And so we crossed the Wadi Zered.	13 الآن قوموا واعبروا وادي زارد. فعبرنا وادي زارد.
14 From Kadesh-Barnea to the crossing of the Wadi Zered our wanderings had taken thirty-eight years;as a result of which, the entire generation of those of age to bear arms had been eliminated, as Yahweh hadsworn to them.	14 والايام التي سرنا فيها من قادش برنيع حتى عبرنا وادي زارد كانت ثماني وثلاثين سنة. حتى فني كل الجيل رجال الحرب من وسط المحلّة كما اقسم الرب لهم.
15 Yahweh's hand had been against them, to eliminate them completely from the camp.	15 ويد الرب ايضا كانت عليهم لابادتهم من وسط المحلّة حتى فنوا
16 'When death had carried off from the people those of age to bear arms, to the last man,	16 فعندما فني جميع رجال الحرب بالموت من وسط الشعب
17 Yahweh said this to me,	17 كلمني الرب قائلا.
18 "You are now crossing Ar, the country of Moab,	18 انت مار اليوم بتخم موآب بعار.
19 and soon you wil encounter the children of Ammon. Do not attack them, do not provoke them, for Ishall give you none of the land belonging to the children of Ammon as your domain. I have given it to thechildren of Lot as theirs."	19 فمتى قربت الى تجاه بني عمون لا تعادهم ولا تهجموا عليهم. لاني لا اعطيك من ارض بني عمون ميراثا لاني لبني لوط قد اعطيتها ميراثا.
20 (This used also to be considered as Rephaim territory; at one time the Rephaim lived there, thoughthe Ammonites call them Zamzummim,	20 هي ايضا تحسب ارض رفائيين. سكن الرفائيون فيها قبلا لكن العمونيين يدعونهم زمزميين.
21 a great and numerous people, and tal like the Anakim. Yahweh exterminated them for the Ammoniteswho dispossessed them and settled there in place of them,	21 شعب كبير وكثير وطويل كالعناقيين ابادهم الرب من قدامهم فطردوهم وسكنوا مكانهم.
22 just as he had done for the children of Esau who live in Seir, so that they dispossessed the Horitesand settled there instead of them and are stil there now.	22 كما فعل لبني عيسو الساكنين في سعير الذين اتلف الحوريين من قدامهم فطردوهم وسكنوا مكانهم الى هذا اليوم ً.
23 It was the same with the Avvites who occupied encampments as far as Gaza: the Caphtorim, comingfrom Caphtor, exterminated them and settled there instead.)	23 والعوّيون الساكنون في القرى الى غزّة ابادهم الكفتوريون الذين خرجوا من كفتور وسكنوا مكانهم.
24 "On your way! Break camp and cross the Wadi Arnon. See, I am putting Sihon the Amorite, king ofHeshbon, at your mercy, and his country too. Set about the conquest; engage him in battle.	24 قوموا ارتحلوا واعبروا وادي ارنون. انظر. قد دفعت الى يدك سيحون ملك حشبون الاموري وارضه. ابتدئ تملك وأثر عليه حربا.
25 Today and henceforth, I shal fill the peoples under al heaven with fear and terror of you; whoeverhears word of your approach wil tremble and writhe in anguish because of you."	25 في هذا اليوم أبتدئ اجعل خشيتك وخوفك امام وجوه الشعوب تحت كل السماء. الذين يسمعون خبرك يرتعدون ويجزعون امامك
26 'So, from the desert of Kedemoth I sent envoys to Sihon king of Heshbon with this peaceful message,	26 فارسلت رسلا من برية قديموت الى سيحون ملك حشبون بكلام سلام قائلا.
27 "I intend to cross your country. I shal go my way, straying neither to right nor to left.	27 امرّ في ارضك. اسلك الطريق الطريق. لا اميل يمينا ولا شمالا.
28 I shal eat and pay for the food you choose to sell me, and I shall drink and pay for the water you letme have. I only want to march through,	28 طعاما بالفضة تبيعني لآكل وماء تعطيني بالفضة لاشرب. امرّ برجليّ فقط.
29 just as the children of Esau who live in Seir permitted, as wel as the Moabites who live in Ar, until Icross the Jordan into the country that Yahweh our God is giving us."	29 كما فعل بي بني عيسو الساكنون في سعير والموآبيون الساكنون في عار. الى ان اعبر الاردن الى الارض التي اعطانا الرب الهنا.
30 'But Sihon king of Heshbon would not give us leave to pass through his territory; Yahweh our God hadmade his spirit obstinate and his heart stubborn, to put him at your mercy, as he stil is.	30 لكن لم يشأ سيحون ملك حشبون ان يدعنا نمر به. لان الرب الهك قسّى روحه وقوّى قلبه لكي يدفعه الى يدك كما في هذا اليوم.
31 Yahweh said to me, "You see, I am starting to give you Sihon and his country. Begin the conquest byseizing his country."	31 وقال الرب لي. انظر. قد ابتدأت ادفع امامك سيحون وارضه. ابتدئ تملّك حتى تمتلك ارضه.
32 Sihon marched out against us, he and all his people, to give battle at Jahaz.	32 فخرج سيحون للقائنا هو وجميع قومه للحرب الى ياهص.
33 And Yahweh our God handed him over to us: we defeated him and his sons and al his people.	33 فدفعه الرب الهنا امامنا فضربناه وبنيه وجميع قومه.
34 We captured al his towns and laid al these towns under the curse of destruction: men, women andchildren, we left no survivors	34 واخذنا كل مدنه في ذلك الوقت وحرمنا من كل مدينة الرجال والنساء والاطفال. لم نبق شاردا.
35 except the livestock which we took as our booty, and the spoils of the captured towns.	35 لكن البهائم نهبناها لانفسنا وغنيمة المدن التي اخذنا
36 From Aroer on the edge of the Arnon valley and from the town down in the val ey, as far as Gilead, notone town was beyond our reach; Yahweh our God delivered them al to us.	36 من عروعير التي على حافة وادي ارنون والمدينة التي في الوادي الى جلعاد لم تكن قرية قد امتنعت علينا. الجميع دفعه الرب الهنا امامنا.
37 You did not, however, go near the country of the Ammonites, or the region of the River Jabbok, or thetowns in the highlands, or anywhere forbidden us by Yahweh our God.'	37 ولكن ارض بني عمون لم نقربها. كل ناحية وادي يبوق ومدن الجبل وكل ما اوصى الرب الهنا
