Luke 9

1 He cal ed the Twelve together and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases,	1 Ezután összehívta a tizenkét apostolt, erőt és hatalmat adott nekik minden ördög felett, és a betegségek gyógyítására.
2 and he sent them out to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal.	2 Majd elküldte őket, hogy hirdessék az Isten országát, és gyógyítsák meg a betegeket.
3 He said to them, 'Take nothing for the journey: neither staff, nor haversack, nor bread, nor money; anddo not have a spare tunic.	3 Azt mondta nekik: »Semmit se vigyetek az útra, se botot, se táskát, se kenyeret, se pénzt, és két ingetek se legyen!
4 Whatever house you enter, stay there; and when you leave let your departure be from there.	4 Amelyik házba betértek, ott maradjatok, és onnan induljatok tovább!
5 As for those who do not welcome you, when you leave their town shake the dust from your feet asevidence against them.'	5 Ha pedig valahol nem fogadnak be titeket, a várost elhagyva, még a lábatok porát is rázzátok le bizonyságul ellenük!«
6 So they set out and went from village to vil age proclaiming the good news and healing everywhere.	6 Útra keltek tehát, bejárták a falvakat, hirdették az evangéliumot, és gyógyítottak mindenütt.
7 Meanwhile Herod the tetrarch had heard about al that was going on; and he was puzzled, becausesome people were saying that John had risen from the dead,	7 Heródes negyedes fejedelem hallott mindenről, ami történt, és zavarban volt, mivel egyesek azt mondták:

10 On their return the apostles gave him an account of al they had done. Then he took them with him andwithdrew towards a town called Bethsaida where they could be by themselves.	10 Az apostolok visszatértek, és elbeszélték neki mindazt, amit cselekedtek. Azután velük együtt elvonult külön egy Betszaidának nevezett város közelébe.
11 But the crowds got to know and they went after him. He made them welcome and talked to them aboutthe kingdom of God; and he cured those who were in need of healing.	11 Amikor a tömeg ezt megtudta, utánament. 12 It was late afternoon when the Twelve came up to him and said, 'Send the people away, and they cango to the vil ages and farms round about to find lodging and food; for we are in a lonely place here.'	12 A nap azonban már lemenőben volt, ezért a tizenkettő odament hozzá, és azt mondták neki: »Bocsásd el a tömeget, hogy a környékbeli falvakba és tanyákra menjenek, szállást vegyenek és ennivalót keressenek, mert itt pusztaságban vagyunk.«
13 He replied, 'Give them something to eat yourselves.' But they said, 'We have no more than five loavesand two fish, unless we are to go ourselves and buy food for al these people.'	13 Ő azonban azt mondta nekik: »Ti adjatok nekik enni!« Azok ezt felelték: »Nincs több, mint öt kenyerünk és két halunk, hacsak nem megyünk el mi, és nem veszünk élelmet ennek az egész népnek.«
14 For there were about five thousand men. But he said to his disciples, 'Get them to sit down in parties ofabout fifty.'	14 A férfiak ugyanis mintegy ötezren voltak. Ekkor azt mondta tanítványainak: »Telepítsétek le őket ötvenes csoportokban!«
15 They did so and made them al sit down.	15 Úgy is tettek, és letelepítették valamennyit.
16 Then he took the five loaves and the two fish, raised his eyes to heaven, and said the blessing overthem; then he broke them and handed them to his disciples to distribute among the crowd.	16 Akkor fogta az öt kenyeret és a két halat, az égre tekintett, megáldotta, megtörte, és tanítványainak adta, hogy adják a tömegnek.
17 They al ate as much as they wanted, and when the scraps left over were col ected they fil ed twelvebaskets.	17 Mindnyájan ettek és jóllaktak. Azután fölszedték, amit meghagytak: tizenkét kosár kenyérdarabot.
18 Now it happened that he was praying alone, and his disciples came to him and he put this question tothem, 'Who do the crowds say I am?'	18 Történt egyszer, hogy amikor egyedül imádkozott, és a tanítványok is vele voltak, megkérdezte őket: »Kinek tart engem a tömeg?«
19 And they answered, 'Some say John the Baptist; others Elijah; others again one of the ancientprophets come back to life.'	19 Ők ezt felelték: »Egyesek Keresztelő Jánosnak, mások Illésnek, mások pedig azt tartják, hogy a korábbi próféták közül támadt fel valaki.«
20 'But you,' he said to them, 'who do you say I am?' It was Peter who spoke up. 'The Christ of God,' hesaid.	20 Azután megkérdezte tőlük: »Hát ti kinek tartotok engem?« Simon Péter válaszolt: »Az Isten Krisztusának.«
21 But he gave them strict orders and charged them not to say this to anyone.	21 Ő pedig rájuk parancsolt, és meghagyta, hogy ezt senkinek se mondják el, és így szólt:
22 He said, 'The Son of man is destined to suffer grievously, to be rejected by the elders and chief priestsand scribes and to be put to death, and to be raised up on the third day.'	22 »Az Emberfiának sokat kell szenvednie, el kell, hogy vessék a vének, a papi fejedelmek és az írástudók, meg kell, hogy öljék, és harmadnapra föl kell támadnia.«
23 Then, speaking to al , he said, 'If anyone wants to be a fol ower of mine, let him renounce himself andtake up his cross every day and fol ow me.	23 Azután mindenkihez szólt: »Ha valaki utánam akar jönni, tagadja meg magát, vegye föl keresztjét minden nap, és kövessen engem.
24 Anyone who wants to save his life wil lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, wil save it.	24 Mert aki meg akarja menteni életét, elveszíti azt; aki pedig elveszíti életét énértem, megmenti azt.
25 What benefit is it to anyone to win the whole world and forfeit or lose his very self?	25 Mit használ az embernek, ha az egész világot megnyeri, önmagát pedig elveszíti, vagy magára nézve kárt vall?
26 For if anyone is ashamed of me and of my words, of him the Son of man wil be ashamed when hecomes in his own glory and in the glory of the Father and the holy angels.	26 Mert aki szégyell engem és az én igéimet, azt az Emberfia is szégyellni fogja, amikor majd eljön a maga, az Atya és a szent angyalok dicsőségében.
27 'I tel you truly, there are some standing here who wil not taste death before they see the kingdom ofGod.'	27 Igazán mondom nektek: vannak az itt állók között egyesek, akik nem ízlelik meg a halált, amíg meg nem látják Isten országát.«
28 Now about eight days after this had been said, he took with him Peter, John and James and went upthe mountain to pray.	28 Történt pedig e beszéd után mintegy nyolc nappal, hogy maga mellé vette Pétert, Jakabot és Jánost, és felment a hegyre imádkozni.
29 And it happened that, as he was praying, the aspect of his face was changed and his clothing becamesparkling white.	29 Miközben imádkozott, arcának színe elváltozott, a ruházata fehér lett és fényben sugárzó.
30 And suddenly there were two men talking to him; they were Moses and Elijah	30 És íme, két férfi beszélgetett vele, Mózes és Illés,

33 As these were leaving him, Peter said to Jesus, 'Master, it is wonderful for us to be here; so let usmake three shelters, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.' 34 As he was saying this, a cloud came and covered them with shadow; and when they went into thecloud the disciples were afraid.	34 Amíg ezeket mondta, felhő szállt le, és elborította őket. Amint a felhőbe jutottak, félelem fogta el őket.
35 And a voice came from the cloud saying, 'This is my Son, the Chosen One. Listen to him.'	35 A felhőből szózat hallatszott: »Ez az én választott Fiam, őt hallgassátok« .
36 And after the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. The disciples kept silence and, at that time,told no one what they had seen.	36 Mikor a szózat elhangzott, Jézus ismét egyedül volt. Ők pedig hallgattak, és senkinek sem szóltak azokban a napokban mindarról, amit láttak.
37 Now it happened that on the fol owing day when they were coming down from the mountain a largecrowd came to meet him.	37 Történt pedig a következő napon, hogy amint lementek a hegyről, nagy tömeg közeledett feléjük.
38 And suddenly a man in the crowd cried out. 'Master,' he said, 'I implore you to look at my son: he is myonly child.	38 És íme, a tömegből felkiáltott egy férfi: »Mester! Kérlek, tekints egyetlen fiamra, hiszen csak ő van nekem!
39 A spirit wil suddenly take hold of him, and all at once it gives a sudden cry and throws the boy intoconvulsions with foaming at the mouth; it is slow to leave him, but when it does, it leaves the boy worn out.	39 Íme, egy lélek ragadja meg őt, és hirtelen felkiált; úgy rángatja, hogy tajtékzik tőle, s ritkán hagy fel a gyötrésével.
40 I begged your disciples to drive it out, and they could not.'	40 Kértem tanítványaidat, hogy űzzék ki, de nem tudták.«
41 In reply Jesus said, 'Faithless and perverse generation! How much longer must I be among you andput up with you? Bring your son here.'	41 Jézus ezt felelte: »Ó, hitetlen és romlott nemzedék! Meddig legyek még veletek és meddig tűrjelek titeket? Vezesd ide a fiadat!«
42 Even while the boy was coming, the devil threw him to the ground in convulsions. But Jesus rebukedthe unclean spirit and cured the boy and gave him back to his father,	42 Alighogy előjött, odacsapta őt az ördög, és össze-vissza rángatta. Jézus azonban ráparancsolt a tisztátalan lélekre, meggyógyította a gyermeket, és visszaadta apjának.
43 and everyone was awestruck by the greatness of God. But while everyone was ful of admiration for alhe did, he said to his disciples,	43 Ekkor mindnyájan elcsodálkoztak Isten nagyságán. Mivel mindannyian csodálkoztak azon, amit tett, ő így szólt tanítványaihoz:
44 'For your part, you must have these words constantly in mind: The Son of man is going to be deliveredinto the power of men.'	44 »Jegyezzétek meg jól ezeket a szavakat: az Emberfiát az emberek kezébe adják.«
45 But they did not understand what he said; it was hidden from them so that they should not see themeaning of it, and they were afraid to ask him about it.	45 Ők azonban nem értették ezt a beszédet. El volt rejtve előlük, hogy fel ne fogják, de nem merték őt kérdezni e beszéd felől.
46 An argument started between them about which of them was the greatest.	46 Azután felmerült köztük a kérdés, hogy ki a nagyobb közülük.
47 Jesus knew what thoughts were going through their minds, and he took a little child whom he set byhis side	47 Jézus, aki ismerte szívük gondolatát, odahívott egy gyermeket, maga mellé állította,
48 and then he said to them, 'Anyone who welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me; andanyone who welcomes me, welcomes the one who sent me. The least among you all is the one who is thegreatest.'	48 és azt mondta nekik: »Aki befogadja ezt a gyermeket az én nevemben, engem fogad be; és aki engem befogad, azt fogadja be, aki engem küldött. Mert aki a legkisebb mindnyájatok között, az a legnagyobb.«
49 John spoke up. 'Master,' he said, 'we saw someone driving out devils in your name, and because he isnot with us we tried to stop him.'	49 Ekkor János így szólt: »Mester! Láttunk valakit, aki a te nevedben ördögöket űzött, és megtiltottuk neki, mert nem követ téged velünk együtt.«
50 But Jesus said to him, 'You must not stop him: anyone who is not against you is for you.'	50 Jézus azt felelte neki: »Ne tiltsátok meg; mert aki nincs ellenetek, veletek van.«
51 Now it happened that as the time drew near for him to be taken up, he resolutely turned his facetowards Jerusalem	51 Történt pedig, hogy amikor közeledtek felvételének napjai, elhatározta, hogy Jeruzsálembe megy.
52 and sent messengers ahead of him. These set out, and they went into a Samaritan vil age to makepreparations for him,	52 Követeket küldött maga előtt, akik el is indultak, és a szamaritánusok egyik helységébe érkeztek, hogy szállást készítsenek neki.
53 but the people would not receive him because he was making for Jerusalem.	53 Azok azonban nem fogadták be, mert Jeruzsálembe szándékozott menni.
54 Seeing this, the disciples James and John said, 'Lord, do you want us to cal down fire from heaven toburn them up?'	54 Ennek láttára tanítványai, Jakab és János ezt mondták: »Uram! Akarod-e, hogy kérjük, szálljon le tűz az égből, és eméssze meg őket?«
55 But he turned and rebuked them,	55 De ő hozzájuk fordulva megfeddte őket,
56 and they went on to another village.	56 és elmentek egy másik faluba.
57 As they travel ed along they met a man on the road who said to him, 'I wil fol ow you wherever you go.'	57 Amint mentek az úton, valaki azt mondta neki: »Követlek téged, bárhová mész!«
58 Jesus answered, 'Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man hasnowhere to lay his head.'	58 Jézus azt felelte neki: »A rókáknak odujuk van, az ég madarainak pedig fészkük, az Emberfiának azonban nincs hová lehajtania a fejét.«
59 Another to whom he said, 'Fol ow me,' replied, 'Let me go and bury my father first.'	59 Egy másiknak ezt mondta: »Kövess engem!« Az így felelt: »Uram! Engedd meg, hogy előbb elmenjek, és eltemessem apámat!«
60 But he answered, 'Leave the dead to bury their dead; your duty is to go and spread the news of thekingdom of God.'	60 Jézus ezt válaszolta neki: »Hagyd a holtakra, hadd temessék el halottaikat; te pedig menj, hirdesd az Isten országát!«
61 Another said, 'I wil fol ow you, sir, but first let me go and say good -- bye to my people at home.'	61 Egy másik is mondta: »Uram! követlek; de engedd meg, hogy előbb búcsút vegyek házam népétől!«
62 Jesus said to him, 'Once the hand is laid on the plough, no one who looks back is fit for the kingdom ofGod.'	62 Jézus azt felelte neki: »Aki kezét az ekére teszi és hátra tekint, nem alkalmas az Isten országára.«
