1 He said to his disciples, 'Causes of fal ing are sure to come, but alas for the one through whom theyoccur!	1 וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־תַּלְמִידָיו אִי אֶפְשַׁר שֶׁלֹּא־יָבֹאוּ הַמִּכְשֹׁלִים אֲבָל אוֹי לָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר עַל־יָדוֹ יָבֹאוּ
2 It would be better for such a person to be thrown into the sea with a mil stone round the neck than tobe the downfal of a single one of these little ones.	2 נוֹחַ לוֹ שֶׁיִּתָּלֶה פֶלַח־רֶכֶב עַל־צַוָּארוֹ וְיֻשְׁלַךְ אֶל־הַיָּם מֵאֲשֶׁר יַכְשִׁיל אֶת־אֶחָד מֵהַקְּטַנִּים הָאֵלֶּה
3 Keep watch on yourselves! 'If your brother does something wrong, rebuke him and, if he is sorry,forgive him.	3 הִשָּׁמְרוּ לְנַפְשׁוֹתֵיכֶם אִם־יֶחֱטָא לְךָ אָחִיךָ הוֹכַח לוֹ וְאִם־יִנָּחֵם סְלַח־לוֹ
4 And if he wrongs you seven times a day and seven times comes back to you and says, "I am sorry,"you must forgive him.'	4 וְאִם־יֶחֱטָא לְךָ שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים בַּיּוֹם וְשָׁב אֵלֶיךָ שֶׁבַע פְּעָמִים בַּיּוֹם וְאָמַר נִחָמְתִּי וְסָלַחְתָּ לּוֹ
5 The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'	5 וַיֹּאמְרוּ הַשְּׁלִיחִים אֶל־הָאָדוֹן הוֹסֵף לָנוּ אֱמוּנָה
6 The Lord replied, 'If you had faith like a mustard seed you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprootedand planted in the sea," and it would obey you.	6 וַיֹּאמֶר הָאָדוֹן לוּ־הָיְתָה לָכֶם אֱמוּנָה כְּגַרְגֵר הַחַרְדָּל אָז תֹּאמְרוּ אֶל־הַתּוּת הַזֶּה הֵעָקֵר וְהִנָּטַע בְּתוֹךְ הַיָּם וְיִשְׁמַע לָכֶם
7 'Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from thefields, "Come and have your meal at once"?	7 מִי הוּא־זֶה מִכֶּם וְלוֹ עֶבֶד חֹרֵשׁ אוֹ רֹעֶה אֲשֶׁר בְּבֹאוֹ מִן־הַשָּׂדֶה יֹאמַר אֵלָיו מַהֵר גְּשָׁה־הֵנָּה וְהָסֵב
8 Would he not be more likely to say, "Get my supper ready; fasten your belt and wait on me while I eatand drink. You yourself can eat and drink afterwards"?	8 הֲלֹא יֹאמַר אֵלָיו הָכֵן לִי אֲרוּחַת הָעֶרֶב וַחֲגֹר מָתְנֶיךָ וְשָׁרְתֵנִי עַד אִם־כִּלִּיתִי לֶאֱכֹל וְלִשְׁתּוֹת וְאַחַר תֹּאכַל וְתִשְׁתֶּה גַּם־אָתָּה
9 Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told?	9 הֲגַם יִתֵּן תּוֹדָה לָעֶבֶד עַל־עֲשׂתוֹ אֵת אֲשֶׁר צִוָּהוּ אָמַרְתִּי לֹא יִתֵּן
10 So with you: when you have done al you have been told to do, say, "We are useless servants: wehave done no more than our duty." '	10 כָּכָה גַם־אַתֶּם אַחֲרֵי עֲשׂוֹתְכֶם אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר צֻוֵּיתֶם אִמְרוּ עֲבָדִים אֵין־מוֹעִיל בָּם אֲנָחְנוּ כִּי רַק אֶת־הַמֻּטָּל עָלֵינוּ לַעֲשׂוֹת עָשִׂינוּ
11 Now it happened that on the way to Jerusalem he was travel ing in the borderlands of Samaria andGalilee.	11 וַיְהִי בְּנָסְעוֹ יְרוּשָׁלָיִם וְהוּא עֹבֵר בְּתוֹךְ שֹׁמְרוֹן וְהַגָּלִיל
12 As he entered one of the villages, ten men suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to meet him.They stood some way off	12 וַיָּבֹא אֶל־כְּפָר אֶחָד וַיִּפְגָּעֻהוּ עֲשָׂרָה אֲנָשִׁים מְצֹרָעִים וְהֵם עֹמְדִים מֵרָחוֹק
13 and cal ed to him, 'Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.'	13 וַיִּשְׂאוּ אֶת־קוֹלָם לֵאמֹר יֵשׁוּעַ מוֹרֶה חָנֵּנוּ
14 When he saw them he said, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' Now as they were going awaythey were cleansed.	14 וַיַּרְא אוֹתָם וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם לְכוּ וְהֵרָאוּ אֶל־הַכֹּהֲנִים וַיְהִי בְלֶכְתָּם וַיִּטְהָרוּ
15 Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice	15 וְאֶחָד מֵהֶם בִּרְאֹתוֹ כִּי נִרְפָּא וַיָּשָׁב וַיְשַׁבַּח אֶת־הָאֱלֹהִים בְּקוֹל גָּדוֹל
16 and threw himself prostrate at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.	16 וַיִּפֹּל עַל־פָּנָיו לְרַגְלָיו וַיּוֹדֶה לוֹ וְהוּא הָיָה שֹׁמְרוֹנִי
17 This led Jesus to say, 'Were not al ten made clean? The other nine, where are they?	17 וַיַּעַן יֵשׁוּעַ וַיֹּאמַר הֲלֹא הָעֲשָׂרָה טֹהָרוּ וְהַתִּשְׁעָה אַיֵּה הֵם
18 It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.'	18 הַאִם לֹא־נִמְצָא אֲשֶׁר שָׁב לָתֵת כָּבוֹד לֵאלֹהִים זוּלָתִי הַנָּכְרִי הַזֶּה
19 And he said to the man, 'Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.'	19 וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָיו קוּם וָלֵךְ אֱמוּנָתְךָ הוֹשִׁיעָה לָּךְ
20 Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was to come, he gave them this answer, 'Thecoming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation	20 וַיִּשְׁאָלֻהוּ הַפְּרוּשִׁים מָתַי תָּבוֹא מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים וַיַּעַן אֹתָם לֵאמֹר מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים לֹא תָבוֹא בְּמַרְאֵה עֵינָיִם
21 and there will be no one to say, "Look, it is here! Look, it is there!" For look, the kingdom of God isamong you.'	21 וְלֹא יֹאמְרוּ הִנֵּה־פֹה אוֹ הִנֵּה־שָׁם כִּי מַלְכוּת הָאֱלֹהִים הִנֵּה בְּקִרְבְּכֶם הִיא
22 He said to the disciples, 'A time wil come when you wil long to see one of the days of the Son ofman and wil not see it.	22 וַיֹּאמֶר אֶל־הַתַּלְמִידִים יָמִים בָּאִים וְהִתְאַוִּיתֶם לִרְאוֹת יוֹם אֶחָד מִימֵי בֶן־הָאָדָם וְלֹא תִרְאוּ
23 They will say to you, "Look, it is there!" or, "Look, it is here!" Make no move; do not set off in pursuit;	23 וְאִם־יֹאמְרוּ אֲלֵיכֶם הִנֵּה־שָׁם הִנֵּה פֹה אַל־תֵּלֵכוּ וְאַל־תָּרוּצוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶם
24 for as the lightning flashing from one part of heaven lights up the other, so wil be the Son of manwhen his Day comes.	24 כִּי כַבָּרָק אֲשֶׁר יִבְרַק מִקְצֵה הַשָּׁמַיִם וְיָאִיר עַד־קְצֵה הַשָּׁמָיִם כֵּן־יִהְיֶה בֶן־הָאָדָם בְּיוֹמוֹ
25 But first he is destined to suffer grievously and be rejected by this generation.	25 אַךְ בָּרִאשׁוֹנָה צָרִיךְ הוּא לִסְבֹּל הַרְבֵּה וּלְהִמָּאֵס מִן־הַדּוֹר הַזֶּה
26 'As it was in Noah's day, so wil it also be in the days of the Son of man.	26 וְכַאֲשֶׁר הָיָה בִּימֵי נֹחַ כֵּן יִהְיֶה בִּימֵי בֶן־הָאָדָם
27 People were eating and drinking, marrying wives and husbands, right up to the day Noah went intothe ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.	27 אָכְלוּ וְשָׁתוּ נָשְׂאוּ נָשִׁים וְהִשִּׂיאוּ נָשִׁים לַאֲנָשִׁים עַד־הַיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר־בָּא נֹחַ אֶל־הַתֵּבָה וַיָּבֹא הַמַּבּוּל וַיַּשְׁחֵת אֶת־כֻּלָּם
28 It wil be the same as it was in Lot's day: people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, plantingand building,	28 וְכַאֲשֶׁר הָיָה בִּימֵי לוֹט אָכֹל וְשָׁתֹה קָנֹה וּמָכֹר נָטֹעַ וּבָנֹה
29 but the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and it destroyed them all.	29 וַיְהִי בַיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר־יָצָא לוֹט מִסְּדוֹם וַיַּמְטֵר אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית מִן־הַשָּׁמַיִם וַיַּשְׁחֵת אֶת־כֻּלָּם
30 It wil be the same when the day comes for the Son of man to be revealed.	30 כָּכָה יִהְיֶה בַּיּוֹם אֲשֶׁר יִגָּלֶה בֶּן־הָאָדָם
31 'When that Day comes, no one on the housetop, with his possessions in the house, must come downto col ect them, nor must anyone in the fields turn back.	31 בַּיּוֹם הַהוּא אִישׁ אֲשֶׁר יִהְיֶה עַל־הַגָּג וְכֵלָיו בַּבָּיִת אַל־יֵרֵד לָשֵׂאת אֹתָם וְאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר בַּשָּׂדֶה אַל־יָשֹׁב הַבָּיְתָה
32 Remember Lot's wife.	32 זִכְרוּ אֶת־אֵשֶׁת לוֹט
33 Anyone who tries to preserve his life wil lose it; and anyone who loses it wil keep it safe.	33 הַמְבַקֵּשׁ לְמַלֵּט אֶת־נַפְשׁוֹ יְאַבְּדֶנָּה וַאֲשֶׁר יְאַבֵּד אֹתָהּ יְחָיֶּהָ
34 I tel you, on that night, when two are in one bed, one wil be taken, the other left;	34 אֲנִי אֹמֵר לָכֶם בַּלַּיְלָה הַהוּא שְׁנַיִם יִהְיוּ בְּמִטָּה אֶחָת הָאֶחָד יֵאָסֵף וְהָאַחֵר יֵעָזֵב
35 when two women are grinding corn together, one wil be taken, the other left.'	35 שְׁתַּיִם תִּהְיֶינָה טֹחֲנוֹת יָחַד הָאַחַת תֵּאָסֵף וְהָאַחֶרֶת תֵּעָזֵב
36	36 שְׁנַיִם יִהְיוּ בַשָּׂדֶה וְנֶאֱסַף הָאֶחָד וְהָאַחֵר יֵעָזֵב
37 The disciples spoke up and asked, 'Where, Lord?' He said, 'Where the body is, there too will thevultures gather.'	37 וַיַּעֲנוּ וַיֹּאמְרוּ אֵלָיו אַיֵּה זֹאת אֲדֹנֵינוּ וַיֹּאמֶר אֲלֵיהֶם בַּאֲשֶׁר הַפֶּגֶר שָׁם יִקָּבְצוּ הַנְּשָׁרִים
