Luke 17

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 He said to his disciples, 'Causes of fal ing are sure to come, but alas for the one through whom theyoccur!	1 Después dijo a sus discípulos: «Es inevitable que haya escándalos, pero ¡ay de aquel que los ocasiona!
2 It would be better for such a person to be thrown into the sea with a mil stone round the neck than tobe the downfal of a single one of these little ones.	2 Más le valdría que le ataran al cuello una piedra de moler y lo precipitaran al mar, antes que escandalizar a uno de estos pequeños.
3 Keep watch on yourselves! 'If your brother does something wrong, rebuke him and, if he is sorry,forgive him.	3 Por lo tanto, ¡tengan cuidado! Si tu hermano peca, repréndelo, y si se arrepiente, perdónalo.
4 And if he wrongs you seven times a day and seven times comes back to you and says, "I am sorry,"you must forgive him.'	4 Y si peca siete veces al día contra ti, y otras tantas vuelve a ti, diciendo: «Me arrepiento», perdónalo».
5 The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'	5 Los Apóstoles dijeron al Señor: «Auméntanos la fe».
6 The Lord replied, 'If you had faith like a mustard seed you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprootedand planted in the sea," and it would obey you.	6 El respondió: «Si ustedes tuvieran fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, y dijeran a esa morera que está ahí: "Arráncate de raíz y plántate en el mar", ella les obedecería.
7 'Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from thefields, "Come and have your meal at once"?	7 Supongamos que uno de ustedes tiene un servidor para arar o cuidar el ganado. Cuando este regresa del campo, ¿acaso le dirá: "Ven pronto y siéntate a la mesa"?
8 Would he not be more likely to say, "Get my supper ready; fasten your belt and wait on me while I eatand drink. You yourself can eat and drink afterwards"?	8 ¿No le dirá más bien: "Prepárame la cena y recógete la túnica para servirme hasta que yo haya comido y bebido, y tú comerás y beberás después"?
9 Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told?	9 ¿Deberá mostrarse agradecido con el servidor porque hizo lo que se le mandó?
10 So with you: when you have done al you have been told to do, say, "We are useless servants: wehave done no more than our duty." '	10 Así también ustedes, cuando hayan hecho todo lo que se les mande, digan: "Somos simples servidores, no hemos hecho más que cumplir con nuestro deber"».
11 Now it happened that on the way to Jerusalem he was travel ing in the borderlands of Samaria andGalilee.	11 Mientras se dirigía a Jerusalén, Jesús pesaba a través de Samaría y Galilea.
12 As he entered one of the villages, ten men suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to meet him.They stood some way off	12 Al entrar en un poblado, le salieron al encuentro diez leprosos, que se detuvieron a distancia
13 and cal ed to him, 'Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.'	13 y empezaron a gritarle: «¡Jesús, Maestro, ten compasión de nosotros!».
14 When he saw them he said, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' Now as they were going awaythey were cleansed.	14 Al verlos, Jesús les dijo: «Vayan a presentarse a los sacerdotes». Y en el camino quedaron purificados.
15 Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice	15 Uno de ellos, al comprobar que estaba curado, volvió atrás alabando a Dios en voz alta
16 and threw himself prostrate at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.	16 y se arrojó a los pies de Jesús con el rostro en tierra, dándole gracias. Era un samaritano.
17 This led Jesus to say, 'Were not al ten made clean? The other nine, where are they?	17 Jesús le dijo entonces: «¿Cómo, no quedaron purificados los diez? Los otros nueve, ¿dónde están?
18 It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.'	18 ¿Ninguno volvió a dar gracias a Dios, sino este extranjero?».
19 And he said to the man, 'Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.'	19 Y agregó: «Levántate y vete, tu fe te ha salvado».
20 Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was to come, he gave them this answer, 'Thecoming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation	20 Los fariseos le preguntaron cuándo llegará el Reino de Dios. El les respondió: «El Reino de Dios no viene ostensiblemente,
21 and there will be no one to say, "Look, it is here! Look, it is there!" For look, the kingdom of God isamong you.'	21 y no se podrá decir: «Está aquí» o «Está allí». Porque el Reino de Dios está entre ustedes».
22 He said to the disciples, 'A time wil come when you wil long to see one of the days of the Son ofman and wil not see it.	22 Jesús dijo después a sus discípulos: «Vendrá el tiempo en que ustedes desearán ver uno solo de los días del Hijo del hombre y no lo verán.
23 They will say to you, "Look, it is there!" or, "Look, it is here!" Make no move; do not set off in pursuit;	23 Les dirán: «Está aquí» o «Está allí», pero no corran a buscarlo.
24 for as the lightning flashing from one part of heaven lights up the other, so wil be the Son of manwhen his Day comes.	24 Como el relámpago brilla de un extremo al otro del cielo, así será el Hijo del hombre cuando llegue su Día.
25 But first he is destined to suffer grievously and be rejected by this generation.	25 Pero antes tendrá que sufrir mucho y será rechazado por esta generación.
26 'As it was in Noah's day, so wil it also be in the days of the Son of man.	26 En los días del Hijo del hombre sucederá como en tiempo de Noé.
27 People were eating and drinking, marrying wives and husbands, right up to the day Noah went intothe ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.	27 La gente comía, bebía y se casaba, hasta el día en que Noé entró en el arca y llegó el diluvio, que los hizo morir a todos.
28 It wil be the same as it was in Lot's day: people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, plantingand building,	28 Sucederá como en tiempos de Lot: se comía y se bebía, se compraba y se vendía, se plantaba y se construía.
29 but the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and it destroyed them all.	29 Pero el día en que Lot salió de Sodoma, cayó del cielo una lluvia de fuego y de azufre que los hizo morir a todos.
30 It wil be the same when the day comes for the Son of man to be revealed.	30 Lo mismo sucederá el Día en que se manifieste el Hijo del hombre.
31 'When that Day comes, no one on the housetop, with his possessions in the house, must come downto col ect them, nor must anyone in the fields turn back.	31 En ese Día, el que esté en la azotea y tenga sus cosas en la casa, no baje a buscarlas. Igualmente, el que esté en el campo, no vuelva atrás.
32 Remember Lot's wife.	32 Acuérdense de la mujer de Lot.
33 Anyone who tries to preserve his life wil lose it; and anyone who loses it wil keep it safe.	33 El que trate de salvar su vida, la perderá; y el que la pierda, la conservará.
34 I tel you, on that night, when two are in one bed, one wil be taken, the other left;	34 Les aseguro que en ese noche, de dos hombres que estén comiendo juntos, uno será llevado y el otro dejado;
35 when two women are grinding corn together, one wil be taken, the other left.'	35 de dos mujeres que estén moliendo juntas, una será llevada y la otra dejada».
36	36 [De dos que estén en un campo, uno será llevado y el otro dejado.]
37 The disciples spoke up and asked, 'Where, Lord?' He said, 'Where the body is, there too will thevultures gather.'	37 Entonces le preguntaron: «¿Dónde sucederá esto, Señor?». Jesús les respondió: «Donde esté el cadáver, se juntarán los buitres».
