Luke 17

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 He said to his disciples, 'Causes of fal ing are sure to come, but alas for the one through whom theyoccur!	1 OR egli disse a’ suoi discepoli: Egli è impossibile che non avvengano scandali; ma, guai a colui per cui avvengono!
2 It would be better for such a person to be thrown into the sea with a mil stone round the neck than tobe the downfal of a single one of these little ones.	2 Meglio per lui sarebbe che una macina d’asino gli fosse appiccata al collo, e che fosse gettato nel mare, che di scandalezzare uno di questi piccoli.
3 Keep watch on yourselves! 'If your brother does something wrong, rebuke him and, if he is sorry,forgive him.	3 Prendete guardia a voi. Ora, se il tuo fratello ha peccato contro a te, riprendilo; e se si pente, perdonagli.
4 And if he wrongs you seven times a day and seven times comes back to you and says, "I am sorry,"you must forgive him.'	4 E benchè sette volte il dì pecchi contro a te, se sette volte il dì ritorna a te, dicendo: Io mi pento, perdonagli.
5 The apostles said to the Lord, 'Increase our faith.'	5 Allora gli apostoli dissero al Signore: Accrescici la fede.
6 The Lord replied, 'If you had faith like a mustard seed you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprootedand planted in the sea," and it would obey you.	6 E il Signore disse: Se voi avete pur tanta fede quant’è un granel di senape, voi potreste dire a questo moro: Diradicati, e piantati nel mare, ed esso vi ubbidirebbe.
7 'Which of you, with a servant ploughing or minding sheep, would say to him when he returned from thefields, "Come and have your meal at once"?	7 Ora, chi è colui d’infra voi, il quale, avendo un servo che ari, o che pasturi il bestiame, quando esso, tornando dai campi, entra in casa, subito gli dica: Passa qua, mettiti a tavola?
8 Would he not be more likely to say, "Get my supper ready; fasten your belt and wait on me while I eatand drink. You yourself can eat and drink afterwards"?	8 Anzi, non gli dice egli: Apparecchiami da cena, e cingiti, e servimi, finchè io abbia mangiato e bevuto, poi mangerai e berrai tu?
9 Must he be grateful to the servant for doing what he was told?	9 Tiene egli in grazia da quel servo, ch’egli ha fatte le cose che gli erano stato comandate? Io nol penso.
10 So with you: when you have done al you have been told to do, say, "We are useless servants: wehave done no more than our duty." '	10 Così ancora voi, quando avrete fatte tutte le cose che vi son comandate, dite: Noi siam servi disutili; poichè abbiam fatto ciò ch’eravamo obbligati di fare
11 Now it happened that on the way to Jerusalem he was travel ing in the borderlands of Samaria andGalilee.	11 OR avvenne che, andando in Gerusalemme, egli passava per mezzo la Samaria e la Galilea.
12 As he entered one of the villages, ten men suffering from a virulent skin-disease came to meet him.They stood some way off	12 E come egli entrava in un certo castello, dieci uomini lebbrosi gli vennero incontro, i quali si fermarono da lungi.
13 and cal ed to him, 'Jesus! Master! Take pity on us.'	13 E levarono la voce, dicendo: Maestro Gesù, abbi pietà di noi.
14 When he saw them he said, 'Go and show yourselves to the priests.' Now as they were going awaythey were cleansed.	14 Ed egli, vedutili, disse loro: Andate, mostratevi a’ sacerdoti. Ed avvenne, che come essi andavano, furon mondati.
15 Finding himself cured, one of them turned back praising God at the top of his voice	15 Ed un di loro, veggendo ch’era guarito, ritornò, glorificando Iddio ad alta voce.
16 and threw himself prostrate at the feet of Jesus and thanked him. The man was a Samaritan.	16 E si gettò sopra la sua faccia ai piedi di Gesù, ringraziandolo. Or colui era Samaritano.
17 This led Jesus to say, 'Were not al ten made clean? The other nine, where are they?	17 E Gesù prese a dire: I dieci non son eglino stati nettati? e dove sono i nove?
18 It seems that no one has come back to give praise to God, except this foreigner.'	18 Ei non se n’è trovato alcuno, che sia ritornato per dar gloria a Dio, se non questo straniero?
19 And he said to the man, 'Stand up and go on your way. Your faith has saved you.'	19 E disse a colui: Levati, e vattene; la tua fece ti ha salvato
20 Asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God was to come, he gave them this answer, 'Thecoming of the kingdom of God does not admit of observation	20 ORA, essendo domandato da’ Farisei, quando verrebbe il regno di Dio, rispose loro, e disse: Il regno di Dio non verrà in maniera che si possa osservare.
21 and there will be no one to say, "Look, it is here! Look, it is there!" For look, the kingdom of God isamong you.'	21 E non si dirà: Eccolo qui, o eccolo là; perciocchè ecco, il regno di Dio è dentro di voi.
22 He said to the disciples, 'A time wil come when you wil long to see one of the days of the Son ofman and wil not see it.	22 Or egli disse ancora a’ suoi discepoli: I giorni verranno che voi desidererete vedere un de’ giorni del Figliuol dell’uomo, e non lo vedrete.
23 They will say to you, "Look, it is there!" or, "Look, it is here!" Make no move; do not set off in pursuit;	23 E vi si dirà: Eccolo qui, o eccolo là; non vi andate, e non li seguitate.
24 for as the lightning flashing from one part of heaven lights up the other, so wil be the Son of manwhen his Day comes.	24 Perciocchè, quale è il lampo, il quale, lampeggiando, risplende da una parte di sotto al cielo infino all’altra, tale ancora sarà il Figliuol dell’uomo, nel suo giorno.
25 But first he is destined to suffer grievously and be rejected by this generation.	25 Ma conviene ch’egli prima sofferisca molte cose, e sia rigettato da questa generazione.
26 'As it was in Noah's day, so wil it also be in the days of the Son of man.	26 E come avvenne a’ dì di Noè, così ancora avverrà a’ dì del Figliuol dell’uomo.
27 People were eating and drinking, marrying wives and husbands, right up to the day Noah went intothe ark, and the Flood came and destroyed them all.	27 Gli uomini mangiavano, beveano, sposavano mogli, e si maritavano, infino al giorno che Noè entrò nell’arca; e il diluvio venne, e li fece tutti perire.
28 It wil be the same as it was in Lot's day: people were eating and drinking, buying and selling, plantingand building,	28 Parimente ancora, come avvenne a’ dì di Lot: la gente mangiava, bevea, comperava, vendeva, piantava ed edificava;
29 but the day Lot left Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and it destroyed them all.	29 ma, nel giorno che Lot uscì di Sodoma, piovve dal cielo fuoco e zolfo, e li fece tutti perire.
30 It wil be the same when the day comes for the Son of man to be revealed.	30 Tal sarà il giorno, nel quale il Figliuol dell’uomo apparirà.
31 'When that Day comes, no one on the housetop, with his possessions in the house, must come downto col ect them, nor must anyone in the fields turn back.	31 In quel giorno, colui che sarà sopra il tetto della casa, ed avrà le sue masserizie dentro la casa, non iscenda per toglierle; e parimente che sarà nella campagna non torni addietro.
32 Remember Lot's wife.	32 Ricordatevi della moglie di Lot.
33 Anyone who tries to preserve his life wil lose it; and anyone who loses it wil keep it safe.	33 Chiunque avrà cercato di salvar la vita sua la perderà; ma chi l’avrà perduta farà ch’ella viverà.
34 I tel you, on that night, when two are in one bed, one wil be taken, the other left;	34 Io vi dico che in quella notte due saranno in un letto; l’uno sarà preso, e l’altro lasciato.
35 when two women are grinding corn together, one wil be taken, the other left.'	35 Due donne macineranno insieme; l’una sarà presa, e l’altra lasciata.
36	36 Due saranno nella campagna; l’uno sarà preso, e l’altro lasciato.
37 The disciples spoke up and asked, 'Where, Lord?' He said, 'Where the body is, there too will thevultures gather.'	37 E i discepoli, rispondendo, gli dissero: Dove, Signore? Ed egli disse loro: Dove sarà il carname, quivi ancora si accoglieranno le aquile
