Mark 8

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 And now once again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat. So he cal ed hisdisciples to him and said to them,	1 في تلك الايام اذ كان الجمع كثيرا جدا ولم يكن لهم ما يأكلون دعا يسوع تلاميذه وقال لهم
2 'I feel sorry for al these people; they have been with me for three days now and have nothing to eat.	2 اني اشفق على الجمع لان الآن لهم ثلاثة ايام يمكثون معي وليس لهم ما يأكلون.
3 If I send them off home hungry they wil col apse on the way; some have come a great distance.'	3 وان صرفتهم الى بيوتهم صائمين يخورون في الطريق. لان قوما منهم جاءوا من بعيد.
4 His disciples replied, 'Where could anyone get these people enough bread to eat in a deserted place?'	4 فاجابه تلاميذه. من اين يستطيع احد ان يشبع هؤلاء خبزا هنا في البرية.
5 He asked them, 'How many loaves have you?' And they said to him, 'Seven.'	5 فسألهم كم عندكم من الخبز. فقالوا سبعة.
6 Then he instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves, and after givingthanks he broke them and began handing them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them amongthe crowd.	6 فامر الجمع ان يتكئوا على الارض. واخذ السبع خبزات وشكر وكسر واعطى تلاميذه ليقدموا فقدموا الى الجمع.
7 They had a few smal fishes as wel , and over these he said a blessing and ordered them to bedistributed too.	7 وكان معهم قليل من صغار السمك. فبارك وقال ان يقدموا هذه ايضا.
8 They ate as much as they wanted, and they col ected seven basketfuls of the scraps left over.	8 فاكلوا وشبعوا. ثم رفعوا فضلات الكسر سبعة سلال.
9 Now there had been about four thousand people. He sent them away	9 وكان الآكلون نحو اربعة آلاف. ثم صرفهم.
10 and at once, getting into the boat with his disciples, went to the region of Dalmanutha.	10 وللوقت دخل السفينة مع تلاميذه وجاء الى نواحي دلمانوثة
11 The Pharisees came up and started a discussion with him; they demanded of him a sign from heaven,to put him to the test.	11 فخرج الفريسيون وابتدأوا يحاورونه طالبين منه آية من السماء لكي يجربوه.
12 And with a profound sigh he said, 'Why does this generation demand a sign? In truth I tel you, no signshall be given to this generation.'	12 فتنهد بروحه وقال لماذا يطلب هذا الجيل آية. الحق اقول لكم لن يعطى هذا الجيل آية
13 And, leaving them again, he re-embarked and went away to the other side.	13 ثم تركهم ودخل ايضا السفينة ومضى الى العبر.
14 The disciples had forgotten to take any bread and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.	14 ونسوا ان يأخذوا خبزا ولم يكن معهم في السفينة الا رغيف واحد.
15 Then he gave them this warning, 'Keep your eyes open; look out for the yeast of the Pharisees andthe yeast of Herod.'	15 واوصاهم قائلا انظروا وتحرزوا من خمير الفريسيين وخمير هيرودس.
16 And they said to one another, 'It is because we have no bread.'	16 ففكروا قائلين بعضهم لبعض ليس عندنا خبز.
17 And Jesus knew it, and he said to them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you stil notunderstand, stil not realise? Are your minds closed?	17 فعلم يسوع وقال لهم لماذا تفكرون ان ليس عندكم خبز. ألا تشعرون بعد ولا تفهمون. أحتى الآن قلوبكم غليظة.
18 Have you eyes and do not see, ears and do not hear? Or do you not remember?	18 ألكم اعين ولا تبصرون ولكم آذان ولا تسمعون ولا تذكرون.
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of scraps did you col ect?'They answered, 'Twelve.'	19 حين كسّرت الارغفة الخمسة للخمسة الآلاف كم قفة مملوءة كسرا رفعتم. قالوا له اثنتي عشرة.
20 'And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets ful of scraps did youcol ect?' And they answered, 'Seven.'	20 وحين السبعة للاربعة الآلاف كم سل كسر مملوّا رفعتم. قالوا سبعة.
21 Then he said to them, 'Do you still not realise?'	21 فقال لهم كيف لا تفهمون
22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought to him a blind man whom they begged him totouch.	22 وجاء الى بيت صيدا. فقدموا اليه اعمى وطلبوا اليه ان يلمسه.
23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the vil age. Then, putting spittle on his eyesand laying his hands on him, he asked, 'Can you see anything?'	23 فاخذ بيد الاعمى واخرجه الى خارج القرية وتفل في عينيه ووضع يديه عليه وسأله هل ابصر شيئا.
24 The man, who was beginning to see, replied, 'I can see people; they look like trees as they walkaround.'	24 فتطلع وقال ابصر الناس كاشجار يمشون.
25 Then he laid his hands on the man's eyes again and he saw clearly; he was cured, and he could seeeverything plainly and distinctly.	25 ثم وضع يديه ايضا على عينيه وجعله يتطلع فعاد صحيحا وابصر كل انسان جليّا.
26 And Jesus sent him home, saying, 'Do not even go into the vil age.'	26 فارسله الى بيته قائلا لا تدخل القرية ولا تقل لاحد في القرية
27 Jesus and his disciples left for the vil ages round Caesarea Philippi. On the way he put this question tohis disciples, 'Who do people say I am?'	27 ثم خرج يسوع وتلاميذه الى قرى قيصرية فيلبس. وفي الطريق سأل تلاميذه قائلا لهم من يقول الناس اني انا.
28 And they told him, 'John the Baptist, others Elijah, others again, one of the prophets.'	28 فاجابوا. يوحنا المعمدان. وآخرون ايليا. وآخرون واحد من الانبياء.
29 'But you,' he asked them, 'who do you say I am?' Peter spoke up and said to him, 'You are the Christ.'	29 فقال لهم وانتم من تقولون اني انا. فاجاب بطرس وقال له انت المسيح.
30 And he gave them strict orders not to tell anyone about him.	30 فانتهرهم كي لا يقولوا لاحد عنه
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of man was destined to suffer grievously, and to berejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be put to death, and after three days to riseagain;	31 وابتدأ يعلّمهم ان ابن الانسان ينبغي ان يتألم كثيرا ويرفض من الشيوخ ورؤساء الكهنة والكتبة ويقتل. وبعد ثلاثة ايام يقوم.
32 and he said all this quite openly. Then, taking him aside, Peter tried to rebuke him.	32 وقال القول علانية. فاخذه بطرس اليه وابتدأ ينتهره.
33 But, turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said to him, 'Get behind me, Satan! Youare thinking not as God thinks, but as human beings do.'	33 فالتفت وابصر تلاميذه فانتهر بطرس قائلا اذهب عني يا شيطان. لانك لا تهتم بما لله لكن بما للناس
34 He called the people and his disciples to him and said, 'If anyone wants to be a fol ower of mine, lethim renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me.	34 ودعا الجمع مع تلاميذه وقال لهم من اراد ان يأتي ورائي فلينكر نفسه ويحمل صليبه ويتبعني.
35 Anyone who wants to save his life wil lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, and for thesake of the gospel, wil save it.	35 فان من اراد ان يخلّص نفسه يهلكها. ومن يهلك نفسه من اجلي ومن اجل الانجيل فهو يخلّصها.
36 What gain, then, is it for anyone to win the whole world and forfeit his life?	36 لانه ماذا ينتفع الانسان لو ربح العالم كله وخسر نفسه.
37 And indeed what can anyone offer in exchange for his life?	37 او ماذا يعطي الانسان فداء عن نفسه.
38 For if anyone in this sinful and adulterous generation is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son ofman wil also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.'	38 لان من استحى بي وبكلامي في هذا الجيل الفاسق الخاطئ فان ابن الانسان يستحي به متى جاء بمجد ابيه مع الملائكة القديسين
