NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 And now once again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat. So he cal ed hisdisciples to him and said to them,	1 Azokban a napokban, amikor ismét nagy tömeg volt együtt és nem volt mit enniük, magához hívta tanítványait és azt mondta nekik:
2 'I feel sorry for al these people; they have been with me for three days now and have nothing to eat.	2 »Sajnálom a tömeget, mert íme, már három napja velem vannak, és nincs mit enniük.
3 If I send them off home hungry they wil col apse on the way; some have come a great distance.'	3 Ha étlen bocsátom haza őket, ellankadnak az úton, mert egyesek messziről jöttek közülük.«
4 His disciples replied, 'Where could anyone get these people enough bread to eat in a deserted place?'	4 Tanítványai azt felelték neki: »Hogyan tarthatná jól az ember ezeket kenyérrel itt a pusztában?«
5 He asked them, 'How many loaves have you?' And they said to him, 'Seven.'	5 Ő pedig megkérdezte őket: »Hány kenyeretek van?« Azok azt felelték: »Hét.«
6 Then he instructed the crowd to sit down on the ground, and he took the seven loaves, and after givingthanks he broke them and began handing them to his disciples to distribute; and they distributed them amongthe crowd.	6 Erre megparancsolta a tömegnek, hogy telepedjen le a földre. Fogta a hét kenyeret, hálát adott, megszegte és odaadta tanítványainak, hogy eléjük tegyék; és azok a tömeg elé tették.
7 They had a few smal fishes as wel , and over these he said a blessing and ordered them to bedistributed too.	7 Egy kevés haluk is volt; azokat is megáldotta, és szólt, hogy ezeket is tegyék eléjük.
8 They ate as much as they wanted, and they col ected seven basketfuls of the scraps left over.	8 Aztán ettek és jóllaktak. Végül a megmaradt darabokból hét kosárral szedtek össze.
9 Now there had been about four thousand people. He sent them away	9 Akik ettek, mintegy négyezren voltak. Majd elbocsátotta őket.
10 and at once, getting into the boat with his disciples, went to the region of Dalmanutha.	10 Ő pedig azonnal beszállt a hajóba tanítványaival és Dalmanuta vidékére ment.
11 The Pharisees came up and started a discussion with him; they demanded of him a sign from heaven,to put him to the test.	11 Ekkor kijöttek a farizeusok, elkezdtek vele vitatkozni, és kísértették őt, égi jelet kérve tőle.
12 And with a profound sigh he said, 'Why does this generation demand a sign? In truth I tel you, no signshall be given to this generation.'	12 Ekkor lelke mélyéből felsóhajtott és azt mondta: »Miért kér jelet ez a nemzedék? Bizony, mondom nektek: nem kap jelet ez a nemzedék.«
13 And, leaving them again, he re-embarked and went away to the other side.	13 Azután otthagyta őket, ismét a hajóba szállt, és átkelt a túlsó partra.
14 The disciples had forgotten to take any bread and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.	14 Közben elfelejtettek kenyeret vinni, és egy kenyérnél több nem volt náluk a hajóban.
15 Then he gave them this warning, 'Keep your eyes open; look out for the yeast of the Pharisees andthe yeast of Herod.'	15 Ekkor így intette őket: »Vigyázzatok, óvakodjatok a farizeusok kovászától és Heródes kovászától.«
16 And they said to one another, 'It is because we have no bread.'	16 Azok pedig tanakodtak egymás közt, arra gondolva, hogy: »Nincsen kenyerünk.«
17 And Jesus knew it, and he said to them, 'Why are you talking about having no bread? Do you stil notunderstand, stil not realise? Are your minds closed?	17 Jézus észrevette ezt, és azt mondta nekik: »Miért tanakodtok azon, hogy nincsen kenyeretek? Még mindig nem tudjátok és nem értitek a dolgot? Még mindig el van vakulva a szívetek?
18 Have you eyes and do not see, ears and do not hear? Or do you not remember?	18 Van szemetek, és nem láttok? Van fületek, és nem hallotok? Nem emlékeztek arra,
19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of scraps did you col ect?'They answered, 'Twelve.'	19 hogy amikor az öt kenyeret ötezernek megtörtem, hány tele kosár hulladékot szedtetek fel?« Azt felelték neki: »Tizenkettőt.«
20 'And when I broke the seven loaves for the four thousand, how many baskets ful of scraps did youcol ect?' And they answered, 'Seven.'	20 »És amikor a hét kenyeret négyezernek, hány kosár maradékot szedtetek össze?« Azt felelték neki: »Hetet.«
21 Then he said to them, 'Do you still not realise?'	21 Erre így szólt hozzájuk: »Miért van tehát az, hogy mégsem értitek?«
22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought to him a blind man whom they begged him totouch.	22 Azután Betszaidába érkeztek. Egy vakot vezettek hozzá, és kérték őt, hogy érintse meg.
23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the vil age. Then, putting spittle on his eyesand laying his hands on him, he asked, 'Can you see anything?'	23 Ő kézen fogta a vakot, kivezette a helységből, és a szemére köpve rátette a kezeit, aztán megkérdezte tőle, hogy lát-e valamit.
24 The man, who was beginning to see, replied, 'I can see people; they look like trees as they walkaround.'	24 Az föltekintett és azt mondta: »Látom az embereket, mintha a fák járkálnának.«
25 Then he laid his hands on the man's eyes again and he saw clearly; he was cured, and he could seeeverything plainly and distinctly.	25 Azután ismét a szemére tette a kezét, mire az látni kezdett, meggyógyult, és tisztán látott mindent.
26 And Jesus sent him home, saying, 'Do not even go into the vil age.'	26 S ő ezzel küldte őt haza: »A faluba ne menj be!«
27 Jesus and his disciples left for the vil ages round Caesarea Philippi. On the way he put this question tohis disciples, 'Who do people say I am?'	27 Jézus ezután elment tanítványaival Fülöp Cézáreájának falvaiba. Az úton megkérdezte tanítványait: »Kinek tartanak engem az emberek?«
28 And they told him, 'John the Baptist, others Elijah, others again, one of the prophets.'	28 Ők azt felelték neki: »Keresztelő Jánosnak, mások Illésnek, mások pedig egynek a próféták közül.«
29 'But you,' he asked them, 'who do you say I am?' Peter spoke up and said to him, 'You are the Christ.'	29 Erre megkérdezte őket: »És ti kinek tartotok engem?« Péter felelt neki: »Te vagy a Krisztus.«
30 And he gave them strict orders not to tell anyone about him.	30 Ő ekkor a lelkükre kötötte, hogy ezt senkinek se mondják el róla.
31 Then he began to teach them that the Son of man was destined to suffer grievously, and to berejected by the elders and the chief priests and the scribes, and to be put to death, and after three days to riseagain;	31 Ezután elkezdte őket tanítani arra, hogy az Emberfiának sokat kell szenvednie. El kell, hogy vessék a vének, a főpapok és az írástudók, meg kell, hogy öljék, és három nap múlva föl kell támadnia.
32 and he said all this quite openly. Then, taking him aside, Peter tried to rebuke him.	32 Egész nyíltan mondta el nekik ezt a dolgot. Ekkor Péter félrehívta őt, és kezdte lebeszélni.
33 But, turning and seeing his disciples, he rebuked Peter and said to him, 'Get behind me, Satan! Youare thinking not as God thinks, but as human beings do.'	33 De ő megfordult, a tanítványaira tekintett, és megdorgálta Pétert ezekkel a szavakkal: »Távozz előlem, Sátán! Mert nem az Isten dolgaival törődsz, hanem az emberekével.«
34 He called the people and his disciples to him and said, 'If anyone wants to be a fol ower of mine, lethim renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me.	34 Azután magához hívta a tömeget a tanítványaival együtt, és azt mondta nekik: »Aki utánam akar jönni, tagadja meg önmagát, vegye föl keresztjét és kövessen engem.
35 Anyone who wants to save his life wil lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake, and for thesake of the gospel, wil save it.	35 Mert aki meg akarja menteni életét, elveszíti azt, aki pedig elveszíti életét énértem és az evangéliumért, megmenti azt.
36 What gain, then, is it for anyone to win the whole world and forfeit his life?	36 Mert mit használ az embernek, ha az egész világot megnyeri is, lelkének pedig kárát vallja?
37 And indeed what can anyone offer in exchange for his life?	37 Hisz mit adhat az ember cserébe a lelkéért?
38 For if anyone in this sinful and adulterous generation is ashamed of me and of my words, the Son ofman wil also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.'	38 Mert aki szégyell engem és az én igéimet ebben a házasságtörő és bűnös korban, az Emberfia is szégyellni fogja azt, amikor eljön Atyjának dicsőségében a szent angyalokkal.«
