NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, close by the Mount of Olives, hesent two of his disciples	1 E quando furono vicini a Gerusalemme, a Betania, presso il monte degli Ulivi, mandò due dei suoi discepoli dicendo loro:
2 and said to them, 'Go to the vil age facing you, and as you enter it you wil at once find a tethered coltthat no one has yet ridden. Untie it and bring it here.	2 Andate nel villaggio che vi sta di faccia, e appena vi sarete entrati, troverete legato un puledro sul quale nessuno è ancora montato; scioglietelo e menatelo qui.
3 If anyone says to you, "What are you doing?" say, "The Master needs it and wil send it back here at once." '	3 E se alcuno vi dirà: Che fate voi? ditegli che ne ha bisogno il Signore, e subito lo lascerà venire.
4 They went off and found a colt tethered near a door in the open street. As they untied it,	4 Ed essi andando, trovarono il puledro legato fuori davanti a un uscio in un bivio: e lo sciolsero.
5 some men standing there said, 'What are you doing, untying that colt?'	5 Ed alcuni che erano lì dissero loro: Che fate voi, che sciogliete il puledro?
6 They gave the answer Jesus had told them, and the men let them go.	6 Ed essi risposero come Gesù aveva detto e quelli li lasciaron fare.
7 Then they took the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on its back, and he mounted it.	7 E condussero il puledro a Gesù, gettaron su quello i loro mantelli, ed egli vi montò sopra.
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others greenery which they had cut in the fields.	8 E molti stendevano le loro vesti per la via, altri poi troncavano ramoscelli dagli alberi e li spargevano per la strada.
9 And those who went in front and those who fol owed were al shouting, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who iscoming in the name of the Lord!	9 E quelli che precedevano, e quelli che venivano, gridavano : Osanna!
10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of David our father! Hosanna in the highest heavens!'	10 Benedetto colui che viene nel nome del Signore! Benedetto il regno che viene, del nostro padre David. Osanna nel più alto dei cieli.
11 He entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple; and when he had surveyed it al , as it was late bynow, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.	11 Ed entrato in Gerusalemme si recò al tempio, ed osservata ogni cosa, essendo già tardi, andò a Befania coi dodici.
12 Next day as they were leaving Bethany, he felt hungry.	12 E il giorno seguente, usciti che furono di Betania, ebbe fame.
13 Seeing a fig tree in leaf some distance away, he went to see if he could find any fruit on it, but whenhe came up to it he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season for figs.	13 E visto da lontano un fico pieno di foglie, andò a vedere se per caso vi trovasse qualche cosa, ma avvicinatosi, non trovò che foglie, non essendo la stagione dei fichi.
14 And he addressed the fig tree, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' And his disciples heard himsay this.	14 E Gesù a quella pianta: Nessuno in eterno mangi più del tuo frutto! E i discepoli sentirono.
15 So they reached Jerusalem and he went into the Temple and began driving out the men selling andbuying there; he upset the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove sel ers.	15 Vennero poi a Gerusalemme. Ed entrato che fu nel tempio, si mise a scacciar quanti in esso vendevano e comperavano e rovesciò i banchi dei cambiamonete e le seggiole dei venditori di colombe.
16 Nor would he allow anyone to carry anything through the Temple.	16 E non permetteva ad alcuno di portare oggetti attraverso al tempio.
17 And he taught them and said, 'Does not scripture say: My house wil be cal ed a house of prayer for al peoples? But you have turned it into a bandits' den.'	17 E incominciò ad insegnare dicendo: Non sta scritto: La mia casa è casa di orazione per tutte le genti? Ma voi ne avete fatta una spelonca di ladri.
18 This came to the ears of the chief priests and the scribes, and they tried to find some way of doingaway with him; they were afraid of him because the people were carried away by his teaching.	18 Udite queste cose, i principi dei sacerdoti e gli Scribi cercavano come farlo morire, che lo temevano ammirando tutta la grande folla la sua dottrina.
19 And when evening came he went out of the city.	19 E venuta la sera, uscì dalla città.
20 Next morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered to the roots.	20 E la mattina come ripassarono videro il fico secco, seccato fin dalle radici.
21 Peter remembered. 'Look, Rabbi,' he said to Jesus, 'the fig tree that you cursed has withered away.'	21 E Pietro rammentandosene, gli disse: Maestro, guarda il fico da te maledetto, è seccato.
22 Jesus answered, 'Have faith in God.	22 E Gesù rispose loro: Abbiate fede in Dio.
23 In truth I tel you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Be pul ed up and thrown into the sea," with nodoubt in his heart, but believing that what he says wil happen, it will be done for him.	23 In verità vi dico che se uno dirà a questo monte: levati e gettati in mare, e non esiterà nel suo cuore, ma crederà che avvenga quanto ha detto, gli avverrà.
24 I tel you, therefore, everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it wil beyours.	24 Perciò vi dico: qualunque cosa chiederete colla preghiera, abbiate fede d'ottenerla e l'otterrete.
25 And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, soyour Father in heavenmay forgive your failings too.'	25 E quando state a pregare, se avete qualche cosa contro qualcuno, perdonate, affinchè anche il vostro Padre che è nei cieli perdoni i vostri falli.
26	26 Chè se voi non perdonerete, nemmeno il vostro Padre che è nei cieli perdonerà a voi i vostri peccati.
27 They came to Jerusalem again, and as Jesus was walking in the Temple, the chief priests and thescribes and the elders came to him,	27 Poi tornarono a Gerusalemme. E mentre camminava pel tempio, i sommi sacerdoti, gli Scribi e gli anziani s'accostarono a lui
28 and they said to him, 'What authority have you for acting like this? Or who gave you authority to actlike this?'	28 e gli dissero: Con quale autorità fai questo? E chi ti ha dato il potere di far tali cose?
29 Jesus said to them, 'And I will ask you a question, just one; answer me and I wil tel you my authorityfor acting like this.	29 Ma Gesù rispose loro: Vi domanderò anch'io una cosa: rispondetemi e vi dirò con quale autorità faccia questo:
30 John's baptism, what was its origin, heavenly or human? Answer me that.'	30 Il battesimo di Giovanni era dal cielo o dagli uomini? Rispondetemi.
31 And they argued this way among themselves, 'If we say heavenly, he wil say, "Then why did yourefuse to believe him?"	31 Or essi ragionavano fra di loro, dicendo: Se rispondiamo: dal cielo, dirà allora: Perchè non gli avete creduto?
32 But dare we say human?' -- they had the people to fear, for everyone held that John had been a realprophet.	32 Se diciamo: dagli uomini, abbiamo paura del popolo. Tutti infatti tenevano Giovanni per vero profeta.
33 So their reply to Jesus was, 'We do not know.' And Jesus said to them, 'Nor will I tell you my authorityfor acting like this.'	33 Quindi risposero a Ghsù: Non lo sappiamo. E Gesù a loro: Neppure io vi dico con quale autorità faccia queste cose.
