Mark 11

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, close by the Mount of Olives, hesent two of his disciples	1 Quand ils approchent de Jérusalem, en vue de Bethphagé et de Béthanie, près du mont des Oliviers, ilenvoie deux de ses disciples,
2 and said to them, 'Go to the vil age facing you, and as you enter it you wil at once find a tethered coltthat no one has yet ridden. Untie it and bring it here.	2 en leur disant: "Allez au village qui est en face de vous, et aussitôt, en y pénétrant, vous trouverez, àl'attache, un ânon que personne au monde n'a encore monté. Détachez-le et amenez-le.
3 If anyone says to you, "What are you doing?" say, "The Master needs it and wil send it back here at once." '	3 Et si quelqu'un vous dit: Que faites-vous là? Dites: Le Seigneur en a besoin et aussitôt il va lerenvoyer ici."
4 They went off and found a colt tethered near a door in the open street. As they untied it,	4 Ils partirent et trouvèrent un ânon à l'attache près d'une porte, dehors, sur la rue, et ils le détachent.
5 some men standing there said, 'What are you doing, untying that colt?'	5 Quelques-uns de ceux qui se tenaient là leur dirent: "Qu'avez-vous à détacher cet ânon?"
6 They gave the answer Jesus had told them, and the men let them go.	6 Ils dirent comme Jésus leur avait dit, et on les laissa faire.
7 Then they took the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on its back, and he mounted it.	7 Ils amènent l'ânon à Jésus et ils mettent sur lui leurs manteaux et il s'assit dessus.
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others greenery which they had cut in the fields.	8 Et beaucoup de gens étendirent leurs manteaux sur le chemin; d'autres, des jonchées de verdure qu'ilscoupaient dans les champs.
9 And those who went in front and those who fol owed were al shouting, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who iscoming in the name of the Lord!	9 Et ceux qui marchaient devant et ceux qui suivaient criaient: "Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient aunom du Seigneur!
10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of David our father! Hosanna in the highest heavens!'	10 Béni soit le Royaume qui vient, de notre père David! Hosanna au plus haut des cieux!"
11 He entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple; and when he had surveyed it al , as it was late bynow, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.	11 Il entra à Jérusalem dans le Temple et, après avoir tout regardé autour de lui, comme il était déjàtard, il sortit pour aller à Béthanie avec les Douze.
12 Next day as they were leaving Bethany, he felt hungry.	12 Le lendemain, comme ils étaient sortis de Béthanie, il eut faim.
13 Seeing a fig tree in leaf some distance away, he went to see if he could find any fruit on it, but whenhe came up to it he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season for figs.	13 Voyant de loin un figuier qui avait des feuilles, il alla voir s'il y trouverait quelque fruit, mais s'enétant approché, il ne trouva rien que des feuilles: car ce n'était pas la saison des figues.
14 And he addressed the fig tree, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' And his disciples heard himsay this.	14 S'adressant au figuier, il lui dit: "Que jamais plus personne ne mange de tes fruits!" Et ses disciplesl'entendaient.
15 So they reached Jerusalem and he went into the Temple and began driving out the men selling andbuying there; he upset the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove sel ers.	15 Ils arrivent à Jérusalem. Etant entré dans le Temple, il se mit à chasser les vendeurs et les acheteursqui s'y trouvaient: il culbuta les tables des changeurs et les sièges des marchands de colombes,
16 Nor would he allow anyone to carry anything through the Temple.	16 et il ne laissait personne transporter d'objet à travers le Temple.
17 And he taught them and said, 'Does not scripture say: My house wil be cal ed a house of prayer for al peoples? But you have turned it into a bandits' den.'	17 Et il les enseignait et leur disait: "N'est-il pas écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prièrepour toutes les nations? Mais vous, vous en avez fait un repaire de brigands!"
18 This came to the ears of the chief priests and the scribes, and they tried to find some way of doingaway with him; they were afraid of him because the people were carried away by his teaching.	18 Cela vint aux oreilles des grands prêtres et des scribes et ils cherchaient comment le faire périr; carils le craignaient, parce que tout le peuple était ravi de son enseignement.
19 And when evening came he went out of the city.	19 Le soir venu, il s'en allait hors de la ville.
20 Next morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered to the roots.	20 Passant au matin, ils virent le figuier desséché jusqu'aux racines.
21 Peter remembered. 'Look, Rabbi,' he said to Jesus, 'the fig tree that you cursed has withered away.'	21 Et Pierre, se ressouvenant, lui dit: "Rabbi, regarde: le figuier que tu as maudit est desséché."
22 Jesus answered, 'Have faith in God.	22 En réponse, Jésus leur dit: "Ayez foi en Dieu.
23 In truth I tel you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Be pul ed up and thrown into the sea," with nodoubt in his heart, but believing that what he says wil happen, it will be done for him.	23 En vérité je vous le dis, si quelqu'un dit à cette montagne: Soulève-toi et jette-toi dans la mer, et s'iln'hésite pas dans son coeur, mais croit que ce qu'il dit va arriver, cela lui sera accordé.
24 I tel you, therefore, everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it wil beyours.	24 C'est pourquoi je vous dis: tout ce que vous demandez en priant, croyez que vous l'avez déjà reçu, etcela vous sera accordé.
25 And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, soyour Father in heavenmay forgive your failings too.'	25 Et quand vous êtes debout en prière, si vous avez quelque chose contre quelqu'un, remettez-lui, afinque votre Père qui est aux cieux vous remette aussi vos offenses.

27 They came to Jerusalem again, and as Jesus was walking in the Temple, the chief priests and thescribes and the elders came to him,	27 Ils viennent de nouveau à Jérusalem. Et tandis qu'il circule dans le Temple, les grands prêtres, lesscribes et les anciens viennent à lui
28 and they said to him, 'What authority have you for acting like this? Or who gave you authority to actlike this?'	28 et ils lui disaient: "Par quelle autorité fais-tu cela? Ou qui t'a donné cette autorité pour le faire?"
29 Jesus said to them, 'And I will ask you a question, just one; answer me and I wil tel you my authorityfor acting like this.	29 Jésus leur dit: "Je vous poserai une seule question. Répondez-moi et je vous dirai par quelle autoritéje fais cela.
30 John's baptism, what was its origin, heavenly or human? Answer me that.'	30 Le baptême de Jean était-il du Ciel ou des hommes? Répondez-moi."
31 And they argued this way among themselves, 'If we say heavenly, he wil say, "Then why did yourefuse to believe him?"	31 Or ils se faisaient par-devers eux ce raisonnement: "Si nous disons: Du Ciel, il dira: Pourquoi doncn'avez-vous pas cru en lui?
32 But dare we say human?' -- they had the people to fear, for everyone held that John had been a realprophet.	32 Mais allons-nous dire: Des hommes?" Ils craignaient la foule car tous tenaient que Jean avait étéréellement un prophète.
33 So their reply to Jesus was, 'We do not know.' And Jesus said to them, 'Nor will I tell you my authorityfor acting like this.'	33 Et ils font à Jésus cette réponse: "Nous ne savons pas." Et Jésus leur dit: "Moi non plus, je ne vousdis pas par quelle autorité je fais cela."
