Mark 11

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 When they were approaching Jerusalem, at Bethphage and Bethany, close by the Mount of Olives, hesent two of his disciples	1 Cuando se aproximaban a Jerusalén, estando ya al pie del monte de los Olivos, cerca de Betfagé y de Betania, Jesús envió a dos de sus discípulos,
2 and said to them, 'Go to the vil age facing you, and as you enter it you wil at once find a tethered coltthat no one has yet ridden. Untie it and bring it here.	2 diciéndoles: «Vayan al pueblo que está enfrente y, al entrar, encontrarán un asno atado, que nadie ha montado todavía. Desátenlo y tráiganlo;
3 If anyone says to you, "What are you doing?" say, "The Master needs it and wil send it back here at once." '	3 y si alguien les pregunta: «¿Qué están haciendo?», respondan: «El Señor lo necesita y lo va a devolver en seguida».
4 They went off and found a colt tethered near a door in the open street. As they untied it,	4 Ellos fueron y encontraron un asno atado cerca de una puerta, en la calle, y lo desataron.
5 some men standing there said, 'What are you doing, untying that colt?'	5 algunos de los que estaban allí les preguntaron: «¿Qué hacen? ¿Por qué desatan ese asno?».
6 They gave the answer Jesus had told them, and the men let them go.	6 Ellos respondieron como Jesús les había dicho y nadie los molestó.
7 Then they took the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on its back, and he mounted it.	7 Entonces le llevaron el asno, pusieron sus mantos sobre él y Jesús se montó.
8 Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others greenery which they had cut in the fields.	8 Muchos extendían sus mantos sobre el camino; otros, lo cubrían con ramas que cortaban en el campo.
9 And those who went in front and those who fol owed were al shouting, 'Hosanna! Blessed is he who iscoming in the name of the Lord!	9 Los que iban delante y los que seguían a Jesús, gritaban: «¡Hosana! ¡Bendito el que viene en nombre del Señor!
10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of David our father! Hosanna in the highest heavens!'	10 ¡Bendito sea el Reino que ya viene, el Reino de nuestro padre David! ¡Hosana en las alturas!».
11 He entered Jerusalem and went into the Temple; and when he had surveyed it al , as it was late bynow, he went out to Bethany with the Twelve.	11 Jesús llegó a Jerusalén y fue al Templo; después de observarlo todo, como ya era tarde, salió con los Doce hacia Betania.
12 Next day as they were leaving Bethany, he felt hungry.	12 Al día siguiente, cuando salieron de Betania, Jesús sintió hambre.
13 Seeing a fig tree in leaf some distance away, he went to see if he could find any fruit on it, but whenhe came up to it he found nothing but leaves; for it was not the season for figs.	13 Al divisar de lejos una higuera cubierta de hojas, se acercó para ver si encontraba algún fruto, pero no había más que hojas; porque no era la época de los higos.
14 And he addressed the fig tree, 'May no one ever eat fruit from you again.' And his disciples heard himsay this.	14 Dirigiéndose a la higuera, le dijo: «Que nadie más coma de tus frutos». Y sus discípulos lo oyeron.
15 So they reached Jerusalem and he went into the Temple and began driving out the men selling andbuying there; he upset the tables of the money changers and the seats of the dove sel ers.	15 Cuando llegaron a Jerusalén, Jesús entró en el Templo y comenzó a echar a los que vendían y compraban en él. Derribó las mesas de los cambistas y los puestos de los vendedores de palomas,
16 Nor would he allow anyone to carry anything through the Temple.	16 y prohibió que transportaran cargas por el Templo.
17 And he taught them and said, 'Does not scripture say: My house wil be cal ed a house of prayer for al peoples? But you have turned it into a bandits' den.'	17 Y les enseñaba: «¿Acaso no está escrito: Mi Casa será llamada Casa de oración para todas las naciones? Pero ustedes la han convertido en una cueva de ladrones».
18 This came to the ears of the chief priests and the scribes, and they tried to find some way of doingaway with him; they were afraid of him because the people were carried away by his teaching.	18 Cuando se enteraron los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas, buscaban la forma de matarlo, porque le tenían miedo, ya que todo el pueblo estaba maravillado de su enseñanza.
19 And when evening came he went out of the city.	19 Al caer la tarde, Jesús y sus discípulos salieron de la ciudad.
20 Next morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree withered to the roots.	20 A la mañana siguiente, al pasar otra vez, vieron que la higuera se había secado de raíz.
21 Peter remembered. 'Look, Rabbi,' he said to Jesus, 'the fig tree that you cursed has withered away.'	21 Pedro, acordándose, dijo a Jesús: «Maestro, la higuera que has maldecido se ha secado».
22 Jesus answered, 'Have faith in God.	22 Jesús respondió: «Tengan fe en Dios.
23 In truth I tel you, if anyone says to this mountain, "Be pul ed up and thrown into the sea," with nodoubt in his heart, but believing that what he says wil happen, it will be done for him.	23 Porque yo les aseguro que si alguien dice a esta montaña: «Retírate de ahí y arrójate al mar», sin vacilar en su interior, sino creyendo que sucederá lo que dice, lo conseguirá.
24 I tel you, therefore, everything you ask and pray for, believe that you have it already, and it wil beyours.	24 Por eso les digo: Cuando pidan algo en la oración, crean que ya lo tienen y lo conseguirán.
25 And when you stand in prayer, forgive whatever you have against anybody, soyour Father in heavenmay forgive your failings too.'	25 Y cuando ustedes se pongan de pie para orar, si tienen algo en contra de alguien, perdónenlo, y el Padre que está en el cielo les perdonará también sus faltas».
26	26 (Pero si no perdonan, tampoco el Padre que está en el cielo los perdonará a ustedes)
27 They came to Jerusalem again, and as Jesus was walking in the Temple, the chief priests and thescribes and the elders came to him,	27 Y llegaron de nuevo a Jerusalén. Mientras Jesús caminaba por el Templo, los sumos sacerdotes, los escribas y los ancianos se acercaron a él
28 and they said to him, 'What authority have you for acting like this? Or who gave you authority to actlike this?'	28 y le dijeron: «¿Con qué autoridad haces estas cosas? ¿O quién te dio autoridad para hacerlo?».
29 Jesus said to them, 'And I will ask you a question, just one; answer me and I wil tel you my authorityfor acting like this.	29 Jesús les respondió: «Yo también quiero hacerles una sola pregunta. Si me responden, les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
30 John's baptism, what was its origin, heavenly or human? Answer me that.'	30 Díganme: el bautismo de Juan, ¿venía del cielo o de los hombres?».
31 And they argued this way among themselves, 'If we say heavenly, he wil say, "Then why did yourefuse to believe him?"	31 Ellos se hacían este razonamiento: «Si contestamos: "Del cielo", él nos dirá: "¿Por qué no creyeron en él"?.
32 But dare we say human?' -- they had the people to fear, for everyone held that John had been a realprophet.	32 ¿Diremos entonces: "De los hombres"?». Pero como temían al pueblo, porque todos consideraban que Juan había sido realmente un profeta,
33 So their reply to Jesus was, 'We do not know.' And Jesus said to them, 'Nor will I tell you my authorityfor acting like this.'	33 respondieron a Jesús: «No sabemos». Y él les respondió: «Yo tampoco les diré con qué autoridad hago estas cosas».
