Matthew 8

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 After he had come down from the mountain large crowds fol owed him.	1 ولما نزل من الجبل تبعته جموع كثيرة.
2 Suddenly a man with a virulent skin-disease came up and bowed low in front of him, saying, 'Lord, ifyou are wil ing, you can cleanse me.'	2 واذا ابرص قد جاء وسجد له قائلا يا سيد ان اردت تقدر ان تطهرني.
3 Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him saying, 'I am willing. Be cleansed.' And his skin-diseasewas cleansed at once.	3 فمدّ يسوع يده ولمسه قائلا أريد فاطهر. وللوقت طهر برصه.
4 Then Jesus said to him, 'Mind you tell no one, but go and show yourself to the priest and make theoffering prescribed by Moses, as evidence to them.'	4 فقال له يسوع انظر ان لا تقول لأحد. بل اذهب أر نفسك للكاهن وقدم القربان الذي امر به موسى شهادة لهم
5 When he went into Capernaum a centurion came up and pleaded with him.	5 ولما دخل يسوع كفرناحوم جاء اليه قائد مئة يطلب اليه
6 'Sir,' he said, 'my servant is lying at home paralysed and in great pain.'	6 ويقول يا سيد غلامي مطروح في البيت مفلوجا متعذبا جدا.
7 Jesus said to him, 'I wil come myself and cure him.'	7 فقال له يسوع انا آتي واشفيه.
8 The centurion replied, 'Sir, I am not worthy to have you under my roof; just give the word and myservant will be cured.	8 فاجاب قائد المئة وقال يا سيد لست مستحقا ان تدخل تحت سقفي. لكن قل كلمة فقط فيبرأ غلامي.
9 For I am under authority myself and have soldiers under me; and I say to one man, "Go," and he goes;to another, "Come here," and he comes; to my servant, "Do this," and he does it.'	9 لاني انا ايضا انسان تحت سلطان. لي جند تحت يدي. اقول لهذا اذهب فيذهب ولآخر ائت فياتي ولعبدي افعل هذا فيفعل.
10 When Jesus heard this he was astonished and said to those following him, 'In truth I tell you, in no onein Israel have I found faith as great as this.	10 فلما سمع يسوع تعجب وقال للذين يتبعون. الحق اقول لكم لم اجد ولا في اسرائيل ايمانا بمقدار هذا.
11 And I tel you that many will come from east and west and sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacobat the feast in the kingdom of Heaven;	11 واقول لكم ان كثيرين سيأتون من المشارق والمغارب ويتكئون مع ابراهيم واسحق ويعقوب في ملكوت السموات.
12 but the children of the kingdom wil be thrown out into the darkness outside, where there wil beweeping and grinding of teeth.'	12 واما بنو الملكوت فيطرحون الى الظلمة الخارجية. هناك يكون البكاء وصرير الاسنان.
13 And to the centurion Jesus said, 'Go back, then; let this be done for you, as your faith demands.' Andthe servant was cured at that moment.	13 ثم قال يسوع لقائد المئة اذهب وكما آمنت ليكن لك. فبرأ غلامه في تلك الساعة
14 And going into Peter's house Jesus found Peter's mother-in-law in bed and feverish.	14 ولما جاء يسوع الى بيت بطرس رأى حماته مطروحة ومحمومة.
15 He touched her hand and the fever left her, and she got up and began to serve him.	15 فلمس يدها فتركتها الحمى. فقامت وخدمتهم.
16 That evening they brought him many who were possessed by devils. He drove out the spirits with acommand and cured al who were sick.	16 ولما صار المساء قدموا اليه مجانين كثيرين. فأخرج الارواح بكلمة وجميع المرضى شفاهم.
17 This was to fulfil what was spoken by the prophet Isaiah: He himself bore our sicknesses away andcarried our diseases.	17 لكي يتم ما قيل باشعياء النبي القائل هو اخذ اسقامنا وحمل امراضنا
18 When Jesus saw the crowd al about him he gave orders to leave for the other side.	18 ولما رأى يسوع جموعا كثيرة حوله امر بالذهاب الى العبر.
19 One of the scribes then came up and said to him, 'Master, I wil fol ow you wherever you go.'	19 فتقدم كاتب وقال له يا معلّم اتبعك اينما تمضي.
20 Jesus said, 'Foxes have holes and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has nowhere tolay his head.'	20 فقال له يسوع للثعالب اوجرة ولطيور السماء اوكار. واما ابن الانسان فليس له اين يسند راسه.
21 Another man, one of the disciples, said to him, 'Lord, let me go and bury my father first.'	21 وقال له آخر من تلاميذه يا سيد ائذن لي ان امضي اولا وادفن ابي.
22 But Jesus said, 'Fol ow me, and leave the dead to bury their dead.'	22 فقال له يسوع اتبعني ودع الموتى يدفنون موتاهم
23 Then he got into the boat fol owed by his disciples.	23 ولما دخل السفينة تبعه تلاميذه.
24 Suddenly a storm broke over the lake, so violent that the boat was being swamped by the waves. Buthe was asleep.	24 واذ اضطراب عظيم قد حدث في البحر حتى غطت الامواج السفينة. وكان هو نائما.
25 So they went to him and woke him saying, 'Save us, Lord, we are lost!'	25 فتقدم تلاميذه وايقظوه قائلين يا سيد نجنا فاننا نهلك.
26 And he said to them, 'Why are you so frightened, you who have so little faith?' And then he stood upand rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.	26 فقال لهم ما بالكم خائفين يا قليلي الايمان. ثم قام وانتهر الرياح والبحر فصار هدوء عظيم.
27 They were astounded and said, 'Whatever kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obeyhim?'	27 فتعجب الناس قائلين اي انسان هذا. فان الرياح والبحر جميعا تطيعه
28 When he reached the territory of the Gadarenes on the other side, two demoniacs came towards himout of the tombs -- they were so dangerously violent that nobody could use that path.	28 ولما جاء الى العبر الى كورة الجرجسيين استقبله مجنونان خارجان من القبور هائجان جدا حتى لم يكن احد يقدر ان يجتاز من تلك الطريق.
29 Suddenly they shouted, 'What do you want with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture usbefore the time?'	29 واذا هما قد صرخا قائلين ما لنا ولك يا يسوع ابن الله. أجئت الى هنا قبل الوقت لتعذبنا.
30 Now some distance away there was a large herd of pigs feeding,	30 وكان بعيدا منهم قطيع خنازير كثيرة ترعى.
31 and the devils pleaded with Jesus, 'If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.'	31 فالشياطين طلبوا اليه قائلين ان كنت تخرجنا فاذن لنا ان نذهب الى قطيع الخنازير.
32 And he said to them, 'Go then,' and they came out and made for the pigs; and at that the whole herdcharged down the cliff into the lake and perished in the water.	32 فقال لهم امضوا. فخرجوا ومضوا الى قطيع الخنازير. واذا قطيع الخنازير كله قد اندفع من على الجرف الى البحر ومات في المياه.
33 The herdsmen ran off and made for the city, where they told the whole story, including what hadhappened to the demoniacs.	33 اما الرعاة فهربوا ومضوا الى المدينة واخبروا عن كل شيء وعن أمر المجنونين.
34 Suddenly the whole city set out to meet Jesus; and as soon as they saw him they implored him toleave their neighbourhood.	34 فاذا كل المدينة قد خرجت لملاقاة يسوع. ولما ابصروه طلبوا ان ينصرف عن تخومهم
