18 This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. 21 She wil give birth to a son and you must name him Jesus, because he is the one who is to save hispeople from their sins.'21 Darà alla luce un figlio, e tu lo chiamerai Gesù; egli infatti salverà il suo popolo dai suoi peccati".
22 Now al this took place to fulfil what the Lord had spoken through the prophet:22 Tutto ciò è accaduto affinché si adempisse quanto fu annunciato dal Signore per mezzo del profeta che dice:
23 Look! the virgin is with child and will give birth to a son whom they wil cal Immanuel, a name whichmeans 'God-is-with-us'.23 Ecco: la vergine concepirà e darà alla luce un figlio che sarà chiamato Emmanuele, che significa: con-noi-è-Dio.
24 When Joseph woke up he did what the angel of the Lord had told him to do: he took his wife to hishome;24 Destatosi dal sonno, Giuseppe fece come gli aveva ordinato l'angelo del Signore e prese con sé la sua sposa;
25 he had not had intercourse with her when she gave birth to a son; and he named him Jesus.25 ma non si accostò a lei, fino alla nascita del figlio; e gli pose nome Gesù.
