Zechariah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	STUTTGARTENSIA-DELITZSCH
1 Again I raised my eyes, and this is what I saw: four chariots coming out between two mountains, andthe mountains were mountains of bronze.	1 וָאָשֻׁב וָאֶשָּׂא עֵינַי וָאֶרְאֶה וְהִנֵּה אַרְבַּע מַרְכָּבֹות יֹצְאֹות מִבֵּין שְׁנֵי הֶהָרִים וְהֶהָרִים הָרֵי נְחֹשֶׁת
2 The first chariot had red horses, the second chariot had black horses,	2 בַּמֶּרְכָּבָה הָרִאשֹׁנָה סוּסִים אֲדֻמִּים וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשֵּׁנִית סוּסִים שְׁחֹרִים
3 the third chariot had white horses and the fourth chariot had vigorous, piebald horses.	3 וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הַשְּׁלִשִׁית סוּסִים לְבָנִים וּבַמֶּרְכָּבָה הָרְבִעִית סוּסִים בְּרֻדִּים אֲמֻצִּים
4 I asked the angel who was talking to me, 'What are these, my lord?'	4 וָאַעַן וָאֹמַר אֶל־הַמַּלְאָךְ הַדֹּבֵר בִּי מָה־אֵלֶּה אֲדֹנִי
5 The angel replied, 'They are the four winds of heaven now leaving, after attending the Lord of the wholeworld.	5 וַיַּעַן הַמַּלְאָךְ וַיֹּאמֶר אֵלָי אֵלֶּה אַרְבַּע רֻחֹות הַשָּׁמַיִם יֹוצְאֹות מֵהִתְיַצֵּב עַל־אֲדֹון כָּל־הָאָרֶץ
6 The black horses are leaving for the land of the north; the white are following them, and the piebald areleaving for the land of the south.'	6 אֲשֶׁר־בָּהּ הַסּוּסִים הַשְּׁחֹרִים יֹצְאִים אֶל־אֶרֶץ צָפֹון וְהַלְּבָנִים יָצְאוּ אֶל־אַחֲרֵיהֶם וְהַבְּרֻדִּים יָצְאוּ אֶל־אֶרֶץ הַתֵּימָן
7 They came out vigorously, eager to patrol the world. He said to them, 'Go and patrol the world.' Andthey patrol ed the world.	7 וְהָאֲמֻצִּים יָצְאוּ וַיְבַקְשׁוּ לָלֶכֶת לְהִתְהַלֵּך בָּאָרֶץ וַיֹּאמֶר לְכוּ הִתְהַלְּכוּ בָאָרֶץ וַתִּתְהַלַּכְנָה בָּאָרֶץ
8 He called to me and said, 'Look, the ones going to the land of the north brought my spirit to rest on theland of the north.'	8 וַיַּזְעֵק אֹתִי וַיְדַבֵּר אֵלַי לֵאמֹר רְאֵה הַיֹּוצְאִים אֶל־אֶרֶץ צָפֹון הֵנִיחוּ אֶת־רוּחִי בְּאֶרֶץ צָפֹון׃ ס
9 Then the word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	9 וַיְהִי דְבַר־יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר
10 'Col ect silver and gold from the exiles, from Heldai, Tobijah and Jedaiah, then (you yourself go thesame day) go to the house of Josiah son of Zephaniah, who has arrived from Babylon.	10 לָקֹוחַ מֵאֵת הַגֹּולָה מֵחֶלְדַּי וּמֵאֵת טֹובִיָּה וּמֵאֵת יְדַעְיָה וּבָאתָ אַתָּה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא וּבָאתָ בֵּית יֹאשִׁיָּה בֶן־צְפַנְיָה אֲשֶׁר־בָּאוּ מִבָּבֶל
11 Then, taking the silver and gold, make a crown and place it on the head of the high priest Joshua sonof Jehozadak.	11 וְלָקַחְתָּ כֶסֶף־וְזָהָב וְעָשִׂיתָ עֲטָרֹות וְשַׂמְתָּ בְּרֹאשׁ יְהֹושֻׁעַ בֶּן־יְהֹוצָדָק הַכֹּהֵן הַגָּדֹול
12 And say this to him, "Yahweh Sabaoth says this: Here is a man whose name is Branch; where he is,there will be a branching out (and he wil rebuild Yahweh's sanctuary).	12 וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו לֵאמֹר כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה צְבָאֹות לֵאמֹר הִנֵּה־אִישׁ צֶמַח שְׁמֹו וּמִתַּחְתָּיו יִצְמָח וּבָנָה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה
13 Yes, he is the one who wil rebuild Yahweh's sanctuary; he wil wear the royal insignia and sit on histhrone and govern, with a priest on his right. Perfect peace wil reign between these two.	13 וְהוּא יִבְנֶה אֶת־הֵיכַל יְהוָה וְהוּא־יִשָּׂא הֹוד וְיָשַׁב וּמָשַׁל עַל־כִּסְאֹו וְהָיָה כֹהֵן עַל־כִּסְאֹו וַעֲצַת שָׁלֹום תִּהְיֶה בֵּין שְׁנֵיהֶם
14 And the crown wil serve Heldai, Tobijah, Jedaiah and the son of Zephaniah as a memorial of favour inYahweh's sanctuary.	14 וְהָעֲטָרֹת תִּהְיֶה לְחֵלֶם וּלְטֹובִיָּה וְלִידַעְיָה וּלְחֵן בֶּן־צְפַנְיָה לְזִכָּרֹון בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה
15 And those now far away wil come and work on the building of Yahweh's sanctuary." 'Then you willknow that Yahweh Sabaoth has sent me to you. It wil happen if you diligently obey the voice of Yahweh yourGod.'	15 וּרְחֹוקִים ׀ יָבֹאוּ וּבָנוּ בְּהֵיכַל יְהוָה וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי־יְהוָה צְבָאֹות שְׁלָחַנִי אֲלֵיכֶם וְהָיָה אִם־שָׁמֹועַ תִּשְׁמְעוּן בְּקֹול יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם׃ ס
	16 הֲלֹא יְדַעְתֶּם כִּי לַאֲשֶׁר תִּתְּנוּ אֶת־נַפְשְׁכֶם לִהְיוֹת עֲבָדָיו לָסוּר לְמִשְׁמַעְתּוֹ הֵן עֲבָדִים אַתֶּם לַאֲשֶׁר תִּשְׁמְעוּ־לוֹ אִם־לַחֵטְא אֱלֵי־מָוֶת אִם־לַמִּשְׁמַעַת אֱלֵי־צְדָקָה
	17 אֲבָל תּוֹדֹת לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־הֱיִיתֶם עַבְדֵי הַחֵטְא וְאַחַר שְׁמַעְתֶּם בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶם אֶל־תְּכוּנַת הַלֶּקַח אֲשֶׁר נִמְסַרְתֶּם לוֹ
	18 שֻׁחְרַרְתֶּם מִידֵי הַחֵטְא לָכֵן הִשְׁתַּעְבַּדְתֶּם לַצְּדָקָה
	19 כְּדֶרֶךְ בְּנֵי־אָדָם אֲנִי מְדַבֵּר מִפְּנֵי רִפְיוֹן בְּשַׂרְכֶם כִּי כַּאֲשֶׁר לְפָנִים הֲכִינוֹתֶם אֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶם לַעֲבוֹדַת הַטֻּמְאָה וְהָרֶשַׁע לְהַרְשִׁיעַ כֵּן עַתָּה הָכִינוּ אֶת־אֵבָרֵיכֶם לַעֲבוֹדַת הַצְּדָקָה לְהִתְקַדֵּשׁ
	20 כִּי־בְעֵת הֱיוֹתְכֶם עַבְדֵי הַחֵטְא חָפְשִׁים הֱיִיתֶם מִן־הַצְּדָקָה
	21 וּמָה אֵפוֹא הַפְּרִי שֶׁהָיָה לָכֶם אָז מִן־הַמַּעֲשִׂים אֲשֶׁר עַתָּה תֵבשׁוּ מֵהֶם כִּי אַחֲרִיתָם הַמָּוֶת
	22 אָכֵן עַתָּה בִּהְיוֹתְכֶם מְשֻׁחְרָרִים מִידֵי הַחֵטְא וּמְשֻׁעְבָּדִים לֵאלֹהִים יֵשׁ לָכֶם פֶּרְיְכֶם לִקְדֻשָּׁה וְאַחֲרִיתוֹ חַיֵּי עוֹלָם
	23 כִּי־שְׂכַר הַחֵטְא הוּא הַמָּוֶת וּמַתְּנַת חֶסֶד אֱלֹהִים הִיא חַיֵּי הָעוֹלָם בַּמָּשִׁיחַ יֵשׁוּעַ אֲדֹנֵינוּ
