NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 After this plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to the priest Eleazar son of Aaron and said:	1 ثم بعد الوبإ كلم الرب موسى والعازار بن هرون الكاهن قائلا.
2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites, by families: al those of twenty years and over, fitto bear arms in Israel.'	2 خذا عدد كل جماعة بني اسرائيل من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا حسب بيوت آبائهم كل خارج للجند في اسرائيل.
3 So Moses and the priest Eleazar took a census of them on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan byJericho. They counted	3 فكلمهم موسى والعازار الكاهن في عربات موآب على اردن اريحا قائلين
4 (as Yahweh had ordered Moses and the Israelites after leaving Egypt) men of twenty years and over:	4 من ابن عشرين سنة فصاعدا. كما امر الرب موسى وبني اسرائيل الخارجين من ارض مصر
5 Reuben, the first-born of Israel. The sons of Reuben: for Hanoch, the Hanochite clan; for Pal u, thePal uite clan;	5 رأوبين بكر اسرائيل. بنو رأوبين لحنوك عشيرة الحنوكيين. لفلّو عشيرة الفلّويّين.
6 for Hezron, the Hezronite clan; for Carmi, the Carmite clan.	6 لحصرون عشيرة الحصرونيين. لكرمي عشيرة الكرميين.
7 These were the Reubenite clans. They numbered forty-three thousand seven hundred and thirty men.	7 هذه عشائر الرأوبينيين. وكان المعدودون منهم ثلاثة واربعين الفا وسبع مئة وثلاثين.
8 The sons of Pallu: Eliab.	8 وابن فلّو اليآب.
9 The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These two, Dathan and Abiram, men of repute in thecommunity, were the ones who revolted against Moses and Aaron; they belonged to Korah's group when itrevolted against Yahweh.	9 وبنو اليآب نموئيل وداثان وابيرام وهما داثان وابيرام المدعوّان من الجماعة اللذان خاصما موسى وهرون في جماعة قورح حين خاصموا الرب
10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them (with Korah when that group perished), when fireconsumed the two hundred and fifty men. They were a sign.	10 ففتحت الارض فاها وابتلعتهما مع قورح حين مات القوم باحراق النار مئتين وخمسين رجلا. فصاروا عبرة.
11 Korah's sons, however, did not perish.	11 واما بنو قورح فلم يموتوا
12 The sons of Simeon by clans: for Nemuel, the Nemuelite clan; for Jamin, the Jaminite clan; forJachin, the Jachinite clan;	12 بنو شمعون حسب عشائرهم. لنموئيل عشيرة النموئيليين. ليامين عشيرة اليامينيين. لياكين عشيرة الياكينيين.
13 for Zerah, the Zerahite clan; for Shaul, the Shaulite clan.	13 لزارح عشيرة الزارحيين. لشأول عشيرة الشأوليين.
14 These were the Simeonite clans. They numbered twenty-two thousand two hundred men.	14 هذه عشائر الشمعونيين اثنان وعشرون الفا ومئتان
15 The sons of Gad by clans: for Zephon, the Zephonite clan; for Haggi, the Haggite clan; for Shuni, theShunite clan;	15 بنو جاد حسب عشائرهم. لصفون عشيرة الصّفونيين. لحجّي عشيرة الحجّيين. لشوني عشيرة الشونيين.
16 for Ozni, the Oznite clan; for Eri, the Erite clan;	16 لأزني عشيرة الأزنيين. لعيري عشيرة العيريين
17 for Arod, the Arodite clan; for Areli, the Arelite clan.	17 لارود عشيرة الاروديين. لأرئيلي عشيرة الأرئيليين.
18 These were the clans of the sons of Gad. They numbered forty thousand five hundred men.	18 هذه عشائر بني جاد حسب عددهم اربعون الفا وخمس مئة
19 The sons of Judah: Er and Onan. Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.	19 ابنا يهوذا عير واونان. ومات عير واونان في ارض كنعان.
20 The other sons of Judah became clans: for Shelah, the Shelahite clan; for Perez, the Perezzite clan;for Zerah, the Zerahite clan.	20 فكان بنو يهوذا حسب عشائرهم لشيلة عشيرة الشيليين. ولفارص عشيرة الفارصيين. ولزارح عشيرة الزارحيين.
21 The sons of Perez were: for Hezron, the Hezronite clan; for Hamul, the Hamulite clan.	21 وكان بنو فارص لحصرون عشيرة الحصرونيين. ولحامول عشيرة الحاموليين.
22 These were the clans of Judah. They numbered seventy-six thousand five hundred men.	22 هذه عشائر يهوذا حسب عددهم ستة وسبعون الفا وخمس مئة
23 The sons of Issachar by clans: for Tola, the Tolaite clan; for Puvah, the Puvahite clan;	23 بنو يسّاكر حسب عشائرهم. لتولاع عشيرة التولاعيين. ولفوّة عشيرة الفويين.
24 for Jashub, the Jashubite clan; for Shimron, the Shimronite clan.	24 ولياشوب عشيرة الياشوبيين. ولشمرون عشيرة الشمرونيين.
25 These were the clans of Issachar. They numbered sixty-four thousand three hundred men.	25 هذه عشائر يسّاكر حسب عددهم اربعة وستون الفا وثلاث مئة
26 The sons of Zebulun by clans: for Sered, the Seredite clan; for Elon, the Elonite clan; for Jahleel, theJahleelite clan.	26 بنو زبولون حسب عشائرهم لسارد عشيرة السارديين. ولإيلون عشيرة الإيلونيين. ولياحلئيل عشيرة الياحلئيليين.
27 These were the clans of Zebulun. They numbered sixty thousand five hundred men.	27 هذه عشائر الزبولونيين حسب عددهم ستون الفا وخمس مئة
28 The sons of Joseph by clans: Manasseh and Ephraim.	28 ابنا يوسف حسب عشائرهما منسّى وافرايم.
29 The sons of Manasseh: for Machir, the Machirite clan; Machir fathered Gilead: for Gilead, theGileadite clan.	29 بنو منسىّ لماكير عشيرة الماكيريين. وماكير ولد جلعاد. ولجلعاد عشيرة الجلعاديين.
30 These were the sons of Gilead: for Iezer, the Iezerite clan; for Helek, the Helekite clan;	30 هؤلاء بنو جلعاد. لإيعزر عشيرة الإيعزريين. لحالق عشيرة الحالقيين
31 Asriel, the Asrielite clan; Shechem, the Shechemite clan;	31 لأسريئيل عشيرة الأسريئيليين. لشكم عشيرة الشكميين
32 Shemida, the Shemidaite clan; Hepher, the Hepherite clan.	32 لشميداع عشيرة الشميداعيين. لحافر عشيرة الحافريين.
33 Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, only daughters; the names of Zelophehad's daughterswere Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.	33 واما صلفحاد بن حافر فلم يكن له بنون بل بنات. واسماء بنات صلفحاد محلة ونوعة وحجلة وملكة وترصة.
34 These were the clans of Manasseh. They numbered fifty-two thousand seven hundred men.	34 هذه عشائر منسّى. والمعدودون منهم اثنان وخمسون الفا وسبع مئة
35 These were the sons of Ephraim by clans: for Shuthelah, the Shuthelahite clan; for Becher, theBecherite clan; for Tahan, the Tahanite clan.	35 وهؤلاء بنو افرايم حسب عشائرهم. لشوتالح عشيرة الشوتالحيين. لباكر عشيرة الباكريين. لتاحن عشيرة التاحنيين.
36 These were the sons of Shuthelah: for Eran, the Eranite clan.	36 وهؤلاء بنو شوتالح. لعيران عشيرة العيرانيين.
37 These were the clans of Ephraim. They numbered thirty-two thousand five hundred men. Thesewere the sons of Joseph by clans.	37 هذه عشائر بني افرايم حسب عددهم اثنان وثلاثون الفا وخمس مئة. هؤلاء بنو يوسف حسب عشائرهم
38 The sons of Benjamin by clans: for Bela, the Belaite clan; for Ashbel, the Ashbelite clan; for Ahiram,the Ahiramite clan;	38 بنو بنيامين حسب عشائرهم. لبالع عشيرة البالعيين. لأشبيل عشيرة الأشبيليين. لأحيرام عشيرة الأحيراميين.
39 for Shephupham, the Shephuphamite clan; for Hupham, the Huphamite clan.	39 لشفوفام عشيرة الشفوفاميين لحوفام عشيرة الحوفاميين.
40 Bela's sons were Ard and Naaman; for Ard, the Ardite clan; for Naaman, the Naamanite clan.	40 وكان ابنا بالع أرد ونعمان. لأرد عشيرة الأرديين ولنعمان عشيرة النعمانيين.
41 These were the sons of Benjamin by clans. They numbered forty-five thousand six hundred men.	41 هؤلاء بنو بنيامين حسب عشائرهم. والمعدودون منهم خمسة واربعون الفا وست مئة
42 These were the sons of Dan by clans: for Shuham, the Shuhamite clan. These were the sons of Danby clans.	42 هؤلاء بنو دان حسب عشائرهم. لشوحام عشيرة الشوحاميين. هذه قبائل دان حسب عشائرهم.
43 All the Shuhamite clans numbered sixty-four thousand four hundred men.	43 جميع عشائر الشوحاميين حسب عددهم اربعة وستون الفا واربع مئة
44 The sons of Asher by clans: for Imnah, the Imnahite clan; for Ishvi, the Ishvihite clan; for Beriah, theBeriahite clan.	44 بنو اشير حسب عشائرهم. ليمنة عشيرة اليمنيين. ليشوي عشيرة اليشويين. لبريعة عشيرة البريعيين.
45 For the sons of Beriah: for Heber, the Heberite clan; for Malchiel, the Malchielite clan.	45 لبني بريعة لحابر عشيرة الحابريين. لملكيئيل عشيرة الملكيئيليين.
46 The daughter of Asher was called Serah.	46 واسم ابنة اشير سارح.
47 These were the clans of Asher. They numbered fifty-three thousand four hundred men.	47 هذه عشائر بني اشير حسب عددهم ثلاثة وخمسون الفا واربع مئة
48 The sons of Naphtali by clans: for Jahzeel, the Jahzeelite clan; for Guni, the Gunite clan;	48 بنو نفتالي حسب عشائرهم. لياحصئيل عشيرة الياحصئليين. لجوني عشيرة الجونيين.
49 for Jezer, the Jezerite clan; for Shil em, the Shil emite clan.	49 ليصر عشيرة اليصريين. لشلّيم عشيرة الشّلّيميين.
50 These were the clans of Naphtali as divided into clans. The sons of Naphtali numbered forty-fivethousand four hundred men.	50 هذه قبائل نفتالي حسب عشائرهم. والمعدودون منهم خمسة واربعون الفا واربع مئة.
51 Of the Israelites thus numbered, there were six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirtymen.	51 هؤلاء المعدودون من بني اسرائيل ست مئة الف والف وسبع مئة وثلاثون
52 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,	52 ثم كلم الرب موسى قائلا.
53 'The country must be shared out among these as a heritage, proportionately to the number of thoseinscribed.	53 لهؤلاء تقسم الارض نصيبا على عدد الاسماء.
54 To the large in number you wil give a large area of land, to the smal in number a small area; toeach the heritage wil be in proportion to the number registered.	54 الكثير تكثّر له نصيبه والقليل تقلّل له نصيبه. كل واحد حسب المعدودين منه يعطى نصيبه.
55 The sharing out of the country must, however, be done by lot. Each wil receive a heritageproportionate to the number of names in their patriarchal tribes;	55 انما بالقرعة تقسم الارض. حسب اسماء اسباط آبائهم يملكون.
56 the heritage of each tribe wil be shared out by lot, depending on its larger or smal er numbers.'	56 حسب القرعة يقسم نصيبهم بين كثير وقليل
57 These, by clans, are the Levites that were registered: for Gershon, the Gershonite clan; for Kohath,the Kohathite clan; for Merari, the Merarite clan.	57 وهؤلاء المعدودون من اللاويين حسب عشائرهم. لجرشون عشيرة الجرشونيين. لقهات عشيرة القهاتيين. لمراري عشيرة المراريين.
58 These are the Levite clans: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan,the Korahite clan. Kohath fathered Amram.	58 هذه عشائر لاوي. عشيرة اللبنيين وعشيرة الحبرونيين وعشيرة المحليين وعشيرة الموشيين وعشيرة القورحيين. واما قهات فولد عمرام.
59 Amram's wife was cal ed Jokebed daughter of Levi, born to him in Egypt. To Amram she boreAaron, Moses and Miriam their sister.	59 واسم امرأة عمرام يوكابد بنت لاوي التي ولدت للاوي في مصر. فولدت لعمرام هرون وموسى ومريم اختهما.
60 Aaron fathered Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	60 ولهرون ولد ناداب وابيهو والعازار وايثامار.
61 Nadab and Abihu died when they brought unauthorised fire before Yahweh.	61 واما ناداب وابيهو فماتا عندما قرّبا نارا غريبة امام الرب.
62 Altogether twenty-three thousand males of one month and over were registered. They were notregistered with the Israelites, since they were given no heritage with the Israelites.	62 وكان المعدودون منهم ثلاثة وعشرين الفا كل ذكر من ابن شهر فصاعدا. لانهم لم يعدّوا بين بني اسرائيل اذ لم يعط لهم نصيب بين بني اسرائيل
63 Such were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar who took a census of the Israeliteson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.	63 هؤلاء هم الذين عدّهم موسى والعازار الكاهن حين عدّا بني اسرائيل في عربات موآب على اردن اريحا.
64 Not one of them was among those whom Moses and the priest Aaron had registered when theycounted the Israelites in the desert of Sinai;	64 وفي هؤلاء لم يكن انسان من الذين عدّهم موسى وهرون الكاهن حين عدّا بني اسرائيل في برية سيناء.
65 for Yahweh had told them that these were to die in the desert and that none of them would be leftexcept Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.	65 لان الرب قال لهم انهم يموتون في البرية فلم يبق منهم انسان الا كالب بن يفنّة ويشوع بن نون
