NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 After this plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to the priest Eleazar son of Aaron and said:	1 Yahvé parla à Moïse et à Eléazar, fils d'Aaron, le prêtre. Il dit:
2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites, by families: al those of twenty years and over, fitto bear arms in Israel.'	2 "Faites le recensement de toute la communauté des Israélites, par familles: tous ceux qui ontvingt ans et au-dessus, aptes à faire campagne en Israël."
3 So Moses and the priest Eleazar took a census of them on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan byJericho. They counted	3 Moïse et Eléazar le prêtre les recensèrent donc, dans les Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain versJéricho.

9 The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These two, Dathan and Abiram, men of repute in thecommunity, were the ones who revolted against Moses and Aaron; they belonged to Korah's group when itrevolted against Yahweh.	9 Les fils d'Eliab: Nemuel, Datân et Abiram. 10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them (with Korah when that group perished), when fireconsumed the two hundred and fifty men. They were a sign.	10 La terre ouvrit sa bouche et les engloutit (ainsi que Coré, lorsque périt cette bande), lorsque lefeu consuma les 250 hommes. Ils furent un signe.
11 Korah's sons, however, did not perish.	11 Les fils de Coré ne périrent pas.

35 These were the sons of Ephraim by clans: for Shuthelah, the Shuthelahite clan; for Becher, theBecherite clan; for Tahan, the Tahanite clan.	35 Et voici les fils d'Ephraïm, par clans: pour Shutélah, le clan Shutalhite; pour Béker, le clanBakrite; pour Tahân, le clan Tahanite.

53 'The country must be shared out among these as a heritage, proportionately to the number of thoseinscribed.	53 "C'est à ceux-ci que le pays sera distribué en héritage, suivant le nombre des inscrits.
54 To the large in number you wil give a large area of land, to the smal in number a small area; toeach the heritage wil be in proportion to the number registered.	54 A celui qui a un grand nombre, tu donneras un grand domaine, à celui qui a un petit nombre, unpetit domaine; à chacun son héritage, en proportion du nombre de ses recensés.
55 The sharing out of the country must, however, be done by lot. Each wil receive a heritageproportionate to the number of names in their patriarchal tribes;	55 Toutefois, c'est le sort qui fera le partage du pays. Selon le nombre des noms dans les tribuspatriarcales, on recevra son héritage;
56 the heritage of each tribe wil be shared out by lot, depending on its larger or smal er numbers.'	56 l'héritage de chaque tribu sera réparti par le sort en tenant compte du grand ou du petit nombre."
57 These, by clans, are the Levites that were registered: for Gershon, the Gershonite clan; for Kohath,the Kohathite clan; for Merari, the Merarite clan.	57 Voici, par clans, les Lévites recensés: pour Gershôn, le clan Gershonite; pour Qehat, le clanQehatite; pour Merari, le clan Merarite.
58 These are the Levite clans: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan,the Korahite clan. Kohath fathered Amram.	58 Voici les clans Lévites: le clan Libnite, le clan Hébronite, le clan Mahlite, le clan Mushite, leclan Coréite. Qehat engendra Amram.
59 Amram's wife was cal ed Jokebed daughter of Levi, born to him in Egypt. To Amram she boreAaron, Moses and Miriam their sister.	59 La femme d'Amram se nommait Yokébed, fille de Lévi, qui lui était née en Egypte. Elle donnaà Amram Aaron, Moïse et Miryam leur soeur.
60 Aaron fathered Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	60 Aaron engendra Nadab et Abihu, Eléazar et Itamar.
61 Nadab and Abihu died when they brought unauthorised fire before Yahweh.	61 Nadab et Abihu moururent lorsqu'ils portèrent devant Yahvé un feu irrégulier.
62 Altogether twenty-three thousand males of one month and over were registered. They were notregistered with the Israelites, since they were given no heritage with the Israelites.	62 Il y eut en tout 23.000 mâles recensés, d'un mois et au-dessus. Car ils n'avaient pas été recensésavec les Israélites, n'ayant pas reçu d'héritage au milieu d'eux.
63 Such were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar who took a census of the Israeliteson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.	63 Tels furent les hommes que recensèrent Moïse et Eléazar le prêtre, qui firent ce recensement desIsraélites dans les Steppes de Moab, près du Jourdain vers Jéricho.
64 Not one of them was among those whom Moses and the priest Aaron had registered when theycounted the Israelites in the desert of Sinai;	64 Aucun d'eux n'était de ceux que Moïse et Aaron le prêtre avaient recensés, en dénombrant lesIsraélites dans le désert du Sinaï;
65 for Yahweh had told them that these were to die in the desert and that none of them would be leftexcept Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.	65 car Yahvé le leur avait dit: ceux-ci mourraient dans le désert et il n'en resterait aucun, àl'exception de Caleb, fils de Yephunné, et de Josué, fils de Nûn.
