1 After this plague, Yahweh spoke to Moses and to the priest Eleazar son of Aaron and said:	1 - Poi che il sangue de' colpevoli fu così versato, disse il Signore a Mosè e ad Eleazaro sacerdote figlio d'Aronne:
2 'Take a census of the whole community of Israelites, by families: al those of twenty years and over, fitto bear arms in Israel.'	2 «Fate il computo di tutt'i figli d'Israele atti alla guerra, da vent'anni in su, secondo le casate e famiglie loro».
3 So Moses and the priest Eleazar took a census of them on the Plains of Moab, near the Jordan byJericho. They counted	3 Mosè pertanto ed Eleazaro sacerdote, nelle pianure di Moab, lungo il Giordano, di contro a Gerico, riferirono a quelli che avevano
4 (as Yahweh had ordered Moses and the Israelites after leaving Egypt) men of twenty years and over:	4 vent'anni e più il comando del Signore; e questo è il loro numero.
5 Reuben, the first-born of Israel. The sons of Reuben: for Hanoch, the Hanochite clan; for Pal u, thePal uite clan;	5 Ruben fu il primogenito di Israele. Furono suoi figli: Henoc, dal quale venne la famiglia degli Henochiti; Fallu, da cui la famiglia de' Falluiti;

8 The sons of Pallu: Eliab.	8 Figlio di Fallu fu Eliab.
9 The sons of Eliab: Nemuel, Dathan and Abiram. These two, Dathan and Abiram, men of repute in thecommunity, were the ones who revolted against Moses and Aaron; they belonged to Korah's group when itrevolted against Yahweh.	9 E di Eliab furono figli Namuel, Datan e Abiron; questi due, Datan e Abiron, son quei capi del popolo che insorsero contro Mosè ed Aronne nella sedizione di Core, quando si ribellarono contro il Signore;
10 The earth opened its mouth and swallowed them (with Korah when that group perished), when fireconsumed the two hundred and fifty men. They were a sign.	10 allora la terra, aperta la sua bocca, divorò Core, e molti altri morirono quando un fuoco abbruciò i duecentocinquanta. Fu gran miracolo,

19 The sons of Judah: Er and Onan. Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.	19 Figli di Giuda furono Her e Onan, che morirono ambedue nella terra di Canaan.

23 The sons of Issachar by clans: for Tola, the Tolaite clan; for Puvah, the Puvahite clan;	23 Figli d'Issacar, e loro discendenze: Tola, dal quale i Tolaiti; Fua, dal quale i Fuaiti;
24 for Jashub, the Jashubite clan; for Shimron, the Shimronite clan.	24 Iasub, dal quale gli Iasubiti; Semran, dal quale i Semraniti.
25 These were the clans of Issachar. They numbered sixty-four thousand three hundred men.	25 Queste son le discendenze da Issacar, nelle quali furono numerati sessantaquattromila e trecento uomini.

28 The sons of Joseph by clans: Manasseh and Ephraim.	28 Figli di Giuseppe e loro discendenze: Manasse ed Efraim.
29 The sons of Manasseh: for Machir, the Machirite clan; Machir fathered Gilead: for Gilead, theGileadite clan.	29 Da Manasse nacque Machir, dal quale i Machiriti; Machir generò Galaad, dal quale i Galaaditi;

31 Asriel, the Asrielite clan; Shechem, the Shechemite clan;	31 Asriel dal quale gli Asrieliti; Sechem, dal quale i Sechemiti;
32 Shemida, the Shemidaite clan; Hepher, the Hepherite clan.	32 Semida, dal quale i Semidaiti; ed Hefer, dal quale gli Heferiti.
33 Zelophehad son of Hepher had no sons, only daughters; the names of Zelophehad's daughterswere Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah and Tirzah.	33 Hefer poi fu padre di Salfaad, che non ebbe figli ma soltanto figliuole, delle quali i nomi sono: Maala, Noa, Hegla, Melca e Tersa.
34 These were the clans of Manasseh. They numbered fifty-two thousand seven hundred men.	34 Son queste le famiglie di Manasse, nelle quali furon numerati cinquantaduemila e settecento uomini.
35 These were the sons of Ephraim by clans: for Shuthelah, the Shuthelahite clan; for Becher, theBecherite clan; for Tahan, the Tahanite clan.	35 I figli poi di Efraim, e le loro discendenze furono: Sutala, dal quale i Sutalaiti; Becher, dal quale i Becheriti; Teen, dal quale i Teeniti.
36 These were the sons of Shuthelah: for Eran, the Eranite clan.	36 Figlio poi di Sutala fu Heran, dal quale gli Heraniti.
37 These were the clans of Ephraim. They numbered thirty-two thousand five hundred men. Thesewere the sons of Joseph by clans.	37 Queste sono le discendenze de' figliuoli d'Efraim nelle quali furon contati uomini trentaduemila e cinquecento.
38 The sons of Benjamin by clans: for Bela, the Belaite clan; for Ashbel, the Ashbelite clan; for Ahiram,the Ahiramite clan;	38 Questi sono i figli di Giuseppe, secondo le loro discendenze. Figli di Beniamino, e loro discendenze: Bela, dal quale i Belaiti; Asbel, dal quale gli Asbeliti; Airam, dal quale gli Airamiti;
39 for Shephupham, the Shephuphamite clan; for Hupham, the Huphamite clan.	39 Sufam, dal quale i Sufamiti; Hufam, dal quale gli Hufamiti.
40 Bela's sons were Ard and Naaman; for Ard, the Ardite clan; for Naaman, the Naamanite clan.	40 Figli poi di Bela: Hered e Noeman; da Hered la famiglia degli Herediti; da Noeman quella dei Noemaniti.
41 These were the sons of Benjamin by clans. They numbered forty-five thousand six hundred men.	41 Questi sono i figli di Beniamino, e le loro discendenze; il numero dei loro uomini fu di quarantacinquemila e seicento.
42 These were the sons of Dan by clans: for Shuham, the Shuhamite clan. These were the sons of Danby clans.	42 Figli di Dan, e loro discendenze: Suam, dal quale la famiglia de' Suamiti. Son queste [sole] le discendenze di Dan per famiglie;
43 All the Shuhamite clans numbered sixty-four thousand four hundred men.	43 furon tutti Suamiti, e dettero di numero sessantaquattromila e quattrocento uomini.
44 The sons of Asher by clans: for Imnah, the Imnahite clan; for Ishvi, the Ishvihite clan; for Beriah, theBeriahite clan.	44 Figli d'Aser, e loro discendenze: Iemna, dal quale gli Emnaiti; Jessui, dal quale gli Jessuiti; Brie, dal quale i Brieiti.
45 For the sons of Beriah: for Heber, the Heberite clan; for Malchiel, the Malchielite clan.	45 Figli di Brie: Heber, dal quale gli Heberiti; Melchiel, dal quale i Melchieliti.
46 The daughter of Asher was called Serah.	46 Aser poi ebbe una figlia, di nome Sara.

48 The sons of Naphtali by clans: for Jahzeel, the Jahzeelite clan; for Guni, the Gunite clan;	48 Figli di Neftali, e loro discendenze: Iesiel, dal quale gli Iesieliti; Guni, dal quale i Guniti;
49 for Jezer, the Jezerite clan; for Shil em, the Shil emite clan.	49 Ieser dal quale gli Ieseriti; Sellem, dal quale i Sellemiti.
50 These were the clans of Naphtali as divided into clans. The sons of Naphtali numbered forty-fivethousand four hundred men.	50 Queste son le discendenze de' figli di Neftali per famiglie; il loro numero fu di quarantacinquemila e quattrocento.
51 Of the Israelites thus numbered, there were six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirtymen.	51 La somma pertanto de' figli di Israele recensiti, è di seicentunmila e settecentotrenta.
52 Yahweh then spoke to Moses and said,	52 Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
53 'The country must be shared out among these as a heritage, proportionately to the number of thoseinscribed.	53 «Tra questi sarà divisa in possesso la terra secondo il numero de' segnati per nome.
54 To the large in number you wil give a large area of land, to the smal in number a small area; toeach the heritage wil be in proportion to the number registered.	54 Ai più, darai una porzione maggiore; ai meno, una minore. A ciascuna tribù sarà assegnato il territorio secondo che ora sono stati recensiti,
55 The sharing out of the country must, however, be done by lot. Each wil receive a heritageproportionate to the number of names in their patriarchal tribes;	55 in modo però che la sorte assegni il territorio alle tribù e famiglie.
56 the heritage of each tribe wil be shared out by lot, depending on its larger or smal er numbers.'	56 Quello che per sorte spetterà, lo riceveranno, tanto i molti quanto i pochi».
57 These, by clans, are the Levites that were registered: for Gershon, the Gershonite clan; for Kohath,the Kohathite clan; for Merari, the Merarite clan.	57 Questo poi è il numero de' figli di Levi, secondo le loro famiglie: Gerson dal quale la famiglia dei Gersoniti; Caat, dal quale la famiglia dei Caatiti; Merari dal quale quella dei Merariti.
58 These are the Levite clans: the Libnite clan, the Hebronite clan, the Mahlite clan, the Mushite clan,the Korahite clan. Kohath fathered Amram.	58 Queste sono le famiglie di Levi: famiglia di Lobni, di Hebron, di Mooli, di Musi, di Core. Caat poi generò Amram,
59 Amram's wife was cal ed Jokebed daughter of Levi, born to him in Egypt. To Amram she boreAaron, Moses and Miriam their sister.	59 che ebbe in moglie Iocabed figlia di Levi natagli in Egitto. Questa al marito suo Amram generò Aronne e Mosè, e Maria loro sorella.
60 Aaron fathered Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.	60 Da Aronne nacquero Nadab, Abiu, Eleazaro ed Itamar;
61 Nadab and Abihu died when they brought unauthorised fire before Yahweh.	61 di questi, Nadab ed Abiu morirono, per aver offerto fuoco profano dinanzi al Signore.
62 Altogether twenty-three thousand males of one month and over were registered. They were notregistered with the Israelites, since they were given no heritage with the Israelites.	62 Furono numerati in tutto ventitremila maschi, da un mese in su: non furono computati fra gli altri figli d'Israele, nè fu assegnato loro un territorio come agli altri.
63 Such were the men registered by Moses and the priest Eleazar who took a census of the Israeliteson the Plains of Moab near the Jordan by Jericho.	63 Questo è il numero de' figli di Israele, che furono registrati da Mosè ed Eleazaro sacerdote, nelle pianure di Moab, lungo il Giordano, di contro a Gerico.
64 Not one of them was among those whom Moses and the priest Aaron had registered when theycounted the Israelites in the desert of Sinai;	64 Fra loro, non v'era più nessuno di quelli prima numerati da Mosè ed Aronne nel deserto di Sinai.
65 for Yahweh had told them that these were to die in the desert and that none of them would be leftexcept Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.	65 Il Signore aveva predetto che sarebbero tutti morti nel deserto, e nessuno di loro sopravvisse, eccetto Caleb figlio di Iefone, e Giosuè figlio di Nun.
