Hosea 8

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle, disaster is swooping on Yahweh's home! Because they haveviolated my covenant and been unfaithful to my Law,	1 À boca a trombeta! O inimigo precipita-se como uma águia sobre a casa do Senhor, porque violaram minha aliança e transgrediram minha lei.
2 in vain wil they cry, 'My God!' In vain, 'We, Israel, know you!'	2 Clamam a mim: Meu Deus!- Nós te conhecemos, Israel!
3 Israel has rejected the good, the enemy will pursue them.	3 Israel rejeitou o bem, o inimigo o persegue.
4 They have set up kings, but without my consent, and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.With their silver and gold, they have made themselves idols, but only to be destroyed.	4 Constituíram reis sem minha aprovação, e chefes sem meu conhecimento. Fizeram para si ídolos de sua prata e de seu ouro, para a sua própria perdição.
5 I spurn your calf, Samaria! My anger blazes against them! How long wil it be before they recover theirinnocence?	5 Rejeito teu bezerro {de ouro}, ó Samaria! Minha cólera inflamou-se contra eles. Até quando não poderão eles purificar-se?
6 For it is the product of Israel- a craftsman made the thing, it is no god at al ! The calf of Samaria wil bebroken to pieces!	6 Porque {esse bezerro} é obra de Israel, foi um artista que o fez; ele não é um deus, será, pois, despedaçado o bezerro de Samaria.
7 Since they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind; stalk without ear, it wil never yield flour- or if itdoes, foreigners will swallow it.	7 Visto que semearam ventos, colherão tempestades; não terão sequer uma espiga, e o grão não dará farinha; e, mesmo que a desse, seria comida pelos estrangeiros.
8 Israel has himself been swal owed; now they are lost among the nations like something no one wants,	8 Israel foi devorado; ei-los que se tornaram como um objeto sem valor entre as nações,
9 for having made approaches to Assyria- like a wild donkey, al alone. Ephraim has rented lovers	9 porque fizeram aliança com a Assíria. O jumento montês anda sozinho, mas Efraim assalaria aliados.
10 and because he has rented them from the nations I am now going to round them up; soon they wilfeel the weight of the king of princes!	10 Em vão multiplicam as alianças, eu os juntarei; terão de se sujeitar ao rei e aos príncipes.
11 Ephraim keeps building altars for his sins, these very altars are themselves a sin.	11 Efraim multiplicou os altares, e seus altares só lhe serviram para pecar.
12 However much of my Law I write for him, Ephraim regards it as alien to him.	12 Mesmo que eu lhe escreva todos os preceitos de minha lei, ele a estimará como uma lei estrageira.
13 They offer sacrifices to me and eat the meat, they do not win Yahweh's favour. On the contrary, he wilremember their guilt and punish their sins; they wil have to go back to Egypt.	13 Oferecem vítimas em sacrifício e comem-lhes as carnes, mas o Senhor não se compraz nelas. Doravante ele se lembrará da iniqüidade deles, e punirá os seus pecados: voltarão para o Egito.
14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built palaces, while Judah keeps on building fortified towns; butI shal send fire down on his cities to devour their citadels.	14 Israel esqueceu-se de seu criador, e construiu palácios para si. Judá multiplicou suas praças fortes. Mas vou pôr fogo às suas cidades e ele consumirá os seus edifícios.
