NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle, disaster is swooping on Yahweh's home! Because they haveviolated my covenant and been unfaithful to my Law,	1 Prépare-toi à sonner de la trompette! Le malheur s’abat comme l’aigle sur le peuple de Yahvé, car ils ont désobéi à mon alliance, ils ont été infidèles à ma Loi.
2 in vain wil they cry, 'My God!' In vain, 'We, Israel, know you!'	2 Ils crient vers moi: “Mon Dieu! Nous te connaissons, nous Israël!”
3 Israel has rejected the good, the enemy will pursue them.	3 Mais Israël a rejeté le bien, c’est pourquoi l’ennemi le poursuivra.
4 They have set up kings, but without my consent, and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.With their silver and gold, they have made themselves idols, but only to be destroyed.	4 Ils ont établi des rois que je n’avais pas choisis; ils ont établi des chefs que je ne connaissais pas; ils ont fait des idoles avec leur argent et leur or, aussi leur argent et leur or leur seront enlevés.
5 I spurn your calf, Samaria! My anger blazes against them! How long wil it be before they recover theirinnocence?	5 Samarie, tes veaux m’ont dégoûté et ma colère s’est enflammée contre eux. Combien de temps faudra-t-il pour vous en purifier, enfants d’Israël?
6 For it is the product of Israel- a craftsman made the thing, it is no god at al ! The calf of Samaria wil bebroken to pieces!	6 Ce veau n’est pas Dieu puisqu’un ouvrier l’a fabriqué: le veau de Samarie s’en ira au feu.
7 Since they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind; stalk without ear, it wil never yield flour- or if itdoes, foreigners will swallow it.	7 Ils ont semé le vent, ils récolteront la tempête; ils sont comme un blé qui n’aura pas d’épi; s’il en a, il ne donnera pas de farine; s’il en donne, des étrangers la mangeront.
8 Israel has himself been swal owed; now they are lost among the nations like something no one wants,	8 Israël vivait à part, comme l’âne sauvage; il s’est fait dévorer. Ephraïm est maintenant chez les païens comme un objet sans valeur.
9 for having made approaches to Assyria- like a wild donkey, al alone. Ephraim has rented lovers	9 Il se rendait en Assyrie pour offrir des cadeaux;
10 and because he has rented them from the nations I am now going to round them up; soon they wilfeel the weight of the king of princes!	10 maintenant qu’il a été lui-même livré aux païens, c’est moi qui devrai le racheter. Car en quelques instants ils se sont retrouvés sans oracles, sans rois, sans chefs.
11 Ephraim keeps building altars for his sins, these very altars are themselves a sin.	11 Éphraïm a multiplié les autels: ils ne lui ont servi qu’à pécher.
12 However much of my Law I write for him, Ephraim regards it as alien to him.	12 Si j’écris à son intention mille articles dans ma Loi, il les regarde comme une chose sans importance.
13 They offer sacrifices to me and eat the meat, they do not win Yahweh's favour. On the contrary, he wilremember their guilt and punish their sins; they wil have to go back to Egypt.	13 Ils veulent offrir des sacrifices? Qu’ils les immolent et en mangent la viande, mais Yahvé n’y prend aucun plaisir; maintenant il se souvient de leurs fautes, il va punir leurs péchés, et ils retourneront en Égypte.
14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built palaces, while Judah keeps on building fortified towns; butI shal send fire down on his cities to devour their citadels.	14 Israël a oublié Celui qui l’avait fait, il s’est mis à construire des palais. Juda a multiplié ses forteresses; mais j’enverrai le feu dans ses villes pour dévorer ses forteresses.
