Hosea 8

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle, disaster is swooping on Yahweh's home! Because they haveviolated my covenant and been unfaithful to my Law,	1 ¡Lleva a tu boca la trompeta! Como un águila, se abate la desgracia sobre la casa del Señor, porque ellos han transgredido mi alianza y se han rebelado contra mi Ley.
2 in vain wil they cry, 'My God!' In vain, 'We, Israel, know you!'	2 Ellos gritan hacia mí: «¡Dios mío, nosotros, los de Israel, te conocemos!».
3 Israel has rejected the good, the enemy will pursue them.	3 Pero Israel ha rechazado el bien: el enemigo lo perseguirá.
4 They have set up kings, but without my consent, and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.With their silver and gold, they have made themselves idols, but only to be destroyed.	4 Entronizaron reyes pero sin contar conmigo; designaron príncipes, pero sin mi aprobación. Se hicieron ídolos con su plata y su oro, para su propio exterminio.
5 I spurn your calf, Samaria! My anger blazes against them! How long wil it be before they recover theirinnocence?	5 Yo rechazo tu ternero, Samaría; mi ira se ha encendido contra ellos. ¿Hasta cuándo no podrán recobrar la inocencia?
6 For it is the product of Israel- a craftsman made the thing, it is no god at al ! The calf of Samaria wil bebroken to pieces!	6 Porque ese ternero proviene de Israel: lo hizo un artesano, y no es Dios. Sí, el ternero de Samaría quedará hecho pedazos.
7 Since they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind; stalk without ear, it wil never yield flour- or if itdoes, foreigners will swallow it.	7 Porque siembran vientos, recogerán tempestades. Tallos sin espiga no produce harina, y si la produce, se la tragarán los extranjeros.
8 Israel has himself been swal owed; now they are lost among the nations like something no one wants,	8 ¡Israel ha sido tragado! Ahora están entre las naciones como un objeto sin valor,
9 for having made approaches to Assyria- like a wild donkey, al alone. Ephraim has rented lovers	9 porque ellos subieron a Asiria. El asno salvaje se queda solo, pero Efraím paga los amores con regalos.
10 and because he has rented them from the nations I am now going to round them up; soon they wilfeel the weight of the king of princes!	10 Aunque hagan regalos entre las naciones, ahora los voy a reunir, y dentro de poco se retorcerán bajo el peso del rey de los príncipes.
11 Ephraim keeps building altars for his sins, these very altars are themselves a sin.	11 Efraím multiplicó los altares para expiar el pecado, pero esos altares le han servido sólo para pecar.
12 However much of my Law I write for him, Ephraim regards it as alien to him.	12 Por más que escriba para él mis prescripciones de mi Ley, se las tendría por una cosa extraña.
13 They offer sacrifices to me and eat the meat, they do not win Yahweh's favour. On the contrary, he wilremember their guilt and punish their sins; they wil have to go back to Egypt.	13 En cuanto a los sacrificios que me ofrecen, ¡que los inmolen, que se coman la carne! ¡El Señor no los aceptará! Ahora, él se acordará de sus culpas y pedirá cuanta de sus pecados: entonces ellos regresarán a Egipto.
14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built palaces, while Judah keeps on building fortified towns; butI shal send fire down on his cities to devour their citadels.	14 Israel se olvidó de su Creador y se construyó palacios Judá multiplicó sus plazas fuertes, pero no enviaré fuego a sus ciudades y él consumirá sus ciudadelas.
