Hosea 8

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Put the trumpet to your lips! Like an eagle, disaster is swooping on Yahweh's home! Because they haveviolated my covenant and been unfaithful to my Law,	1 Da’ fiato al corno! Come un’aquila piomba sulla casa del Signore la sciagura perché hanno trasgredito la mia alleanza e rigettato la mia legge.
2 in vain wil they cry, 'My God!' In vain, 'We, Israel, know you!'	2 Essi gridano verso di me: “Noi, Israele, riconosciamo te nostro Dio!”.
3 Israel has rejected the good, the enemy will pursue them.	3 Ma Israele ha rigettato il bene: il nemico lo perseguiterà.
4 They have set up kings, but without my consent, and appointed princes, but without my knowledge.With their silver and gold, they have made themselves idols, but only to be destroyed.	4 Hanno creato dei re che io non ho designati; hanno scelto capi a mia insaputa. Con il loro argento e il loro oro si sono fatti idoli, ma per loro rovina.
5 I spurn your calf, Samaria! My anger blazes against them! How long wil it be before they recover theirinnocence?	5 Ripudio il tuo vitello, o Samaria! La mia ira divampa contro di loro; fino a quando non si potranno purificare?
6 For it is the product of Israel- a craftsman made the thing, it is no god at al ! The calf of Samaria wil bebroken to pieces!	6 Viene da Israele il vitello di Samaria, è opera di artigiano, non è un dio: sarà ridotto in frantumi.
7 Since they sow the wind, they will reap the whirlwind; stalk without ear, it wil never yield flour- or if itdoes, foreigners will swallow it.	7 E poiché hanno seminato vento, raccoglieranno tempesta. Il loro grano sarà senza spiga, se germoglia non darà farina e, se ne produce, la divoreranno gli stranieri.
8 Israel has himself been swal owed; now they are lost among the nations like something no one wants,	8 Israele è stato inghiottito: si trova ora in mezzo alle nazioni come un oggetto senza valore.
9 for having made approaches to Assyria- like a wild donkey, al alone. Ephraim has rented lovers	9 Essi sono saliti fino ad Assur, sono come un asino selvatico, che si aggira solitario; Èfraim si è acquistato degli amanti.
10 and because he has rented them from the nations I am now going to round them up; soon they wilfeel the weight of the king of princes!	10 Se ne acquistino pure fra le nazioni, io li metterò insieme e cominceranno a diminuire sotto il peso del re e dei prìncipi.
11 Ephraim keeps building altars for his sins, these very altars are themselves a sin.	11 Èfraim ha moltiplicato gli altari, ma gli altari sono diventati per lui un’occasione di peccato.
12 However much of my Law I write for him, Ephraim regards it as alien to him.	12 Ho scritto numerose leggi per lui, ma esse sono considerate come qualcosa di estraneo.
13 They offer sacrifices to me and eat the meat, they do not win Yahweh's favour. On the contrary, he wilremember their guilt and punish their sins; they wil have to go back to Egypt.	13 Offrono sacrifici e ne mangiano le carni, ma il Signore non li gradisce; ora ricorda la loro iniquità, chiede conto dei loro peccati: dovranno tornare in Egitto.
14 Israel has forgotten his Maker and has built palaces, while Judah keeps on building fortified towns; butI shal send fire down on his cities to devour their citadels.	14 Israele ha dimenticato il suo creatore, si è costruito palazzi; Giuda ha moltiplicato le sue città fortificate. Ma io appiccherò il fuoco alle loro città e divorerà i loro palazzi.
