1 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	1 - E il Signore mi comunicò la sua parola dicendo:
2 'Son of man, turn towards the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.	2 «Figlio dell'uomo sta' colla faccia rivolta ai monti d'Israele e profetizza contro di essi e dirai:
3 Say, "Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord Yahweh. The Lord Yahweh says this to mountainsand hil s and ravines and val eys: Look, I am going to summon the sword against you and destroy your highplaces.	3 - O monti d'Israele, udite la parola del Signore Iddio. Così dice il Signore Iddio, ai monti ed ai colli, ai dirupi, e alle valli: Ecco che io farò venire sopra di voi la spada e distruggerò le vostre alture
4 Your altars will be wrecked, and your incense burners smashed; I shal fling your butchered inhabitantsdown in front of your foul idols;	4 e atterrerò le vostre are, e i vostri simulacri saranno infranti, e rovescerò i vostri uccisi davanti ai vostri idoli.
5 I shall lay the corpses of the Israelites in front of their foul idols and scatter their bones all round youraltars.	5 E metterò i cadaveri dei figli d'Israele sotto la faccia dei vostri simulacri, e disseminerò intorno alle vostre are le vostre ossa,
6 Wherever you live, the towns will be destroyed and the high places wrecked, to the ruin and wrecking ofyour altars, the shattering and abolition of your foul idols, the smashing of your incense burners and the utterdestruction of al your works.	6 in tutti i luoghi abitati da voi. Le città resteranno deserte, le adorate cime rovinate e devastate e le vostre are sterminate e infrante; e i vostri idoli saranno annientati e le vostre edicole diroccate, e tutte le opere vostre distrutte.
7 As the butchered fall about you, you wil know that I am Yahweh.	7 E in mezzo di voi vi sarà strage di caduti e saprete che io sono il Signore.
8 "But I shal spare some of you to escape the sword among the nations, when you have been dispersedin their lands;	8 E lascerò sopravvivere, quelli tra voi che saranno sfuggiti alla spada, in mezzo ad altre genti quando vi avrò dispersi sopra la terra.
9 and your survivors wil remember me among the nations where they are held captive, since I shal havebroken their adulterous hearts for having deserted me, and destroyed their eyes for having turned adulterouslytowards their foul idols. They wil loathe themselves for al the wrong they have caused by their loathsomepractices.	9 E si ricorderanno di me gli scampati tra le genti, dove saranno condotti schiavi; perchè scoterò a contrizione il loro cuore fornicatore e diviso da me e i loro occhi fornicanti dietro i loro idoli, e saranno disgustati essi stessi delle malvagità commesse con tutte le loro abominazioni.
10 Then they wil know that I am Yahweh and that I was not talking lightly when I said that I would inflictthese disasters on them."	10 E comprenderanno che io, il Signore, ho dato parola di fare ad essi questo male e non indarno"-».
11 'The Lord Yahweh says this, "Clap your hands, stamp your feet, and say: Alas for al the loathsomesins of the House of Israel, which is about to fal by sword, famine and plague!	11 Così dice il Signore Iddio: «Batti le palme e pesta i piedi ed esclama: - Ahimè! quanto pessime abominazioni son quelle della casa d'Israele, per cui andranno a cadere per la spada, la fame e la peste!
12 Far off, they wil die by plague; near at hand they will fal by the sword; and any who survive or arespared wil die of famine. This is how I shal sate my fury on them.	12 Chi è lontano morirà di peste; chi è vicino cadrà sotto la spada; e chi sarà rimasto e chiuso nell'assedio perirà di fame; e così il mio sdegno avrà piena soddisfazione di essi.
13 Then you will know that I am Yahweh, when their butchered corpses lie among their foul idols, allround their altars, on every high hil , on every mountain top, under every green tree, under every leafy oak,wherever they offer a smel pleasing to al their idols.	13 E riconoscerete che io sono il Signore, quando i vostri giaceranno uccisi in mezzo ai vostri idoli, tutto intorno alle vostre are, sopra ogni prominente colle, su tutte le sommità dei monti, sotto tutti quegli alberi ombrosi, e sotto quelle frondose querce, luogo dove arsero odorosi incensi a tutti i loro idoli.
14 I shal point my finger at them and reduce the country to an empty wasteland from the desert to Riblah,everywhere they live, and they wil know that I am Yahweh." '	14 E stenderò la mia mano sopra di loro e ridurrò la loro terra, dal deserto a Deblata, solitaria e spopolata in tutti i luoghi da loro abitati: e conosceranno che io sono il Signore -».
