1 ' "This is the list of the tribes. One portion in the far north by way of Hethlon to the Pass of Hamath, toHazer-Enon, with the territory of Damascus to the north, and marching with Hamath, from the eastern limit to thewestern limit: Dan.	1 Voici la répartition des tribus. Dan a son territoire tout au nord, dans la direction de Hetlon, vers l’entrée de Hamat et Hasar-Énan; il s’étend de la frontière est à la frontière ouest, laissant plus au nord le territoire de Damas qui longe Hamat.
2 One portion bordering Dan, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Asher.	2 Le territoire d’Asher s’étend de la frontière est à la frontière ouest, juste à côté de Dan.
3 One portion bordering Asher, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Naphtali.	3 Le territoire de Nephtali s’étend de la frontière est à la frontière ouest, sur le côté d’Asher.
4 One portion bordering Naphtali, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Manasseh.	4 Le territoire de Manassé s’étend de la frontière est à la frontière ouest, sur le côté de Nephtali.
5 One portion bordering Manasseh, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Ephraim.	5 Le territoire d’Éphraïm s’étend de la frontière est à la frontière ouest, sur le côté de Manassé.

8 One portion bordering Judah, from the eastern limit to the western limit, is the portion which you mustset aside, twenty-five thousand cubits wide, and as long as each of the other portions from the eastern limit tothe western limit. The sanctuary wil be in the centre of it.	8 Après Juda, depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest, vous réserverez un territoire large de 25 000 coudées et aussi long que chacune des autres parts; c’est au milieu de ce territoire que sera le sanctuaire.
9 "The portion which you must set aside for Yahweh must be twenty-five thousand cubits long and tenthousand cubits wide.	9 La part que vous prélèverez pour Yahvé sera longue de 25 000 coudées et large de 10 000.
10 This sacred portion must belong to the priests, being, on the north side, twenty-five thousand cubits;on the west side ten thousand cubits wide, on the east side ten thousand cubits wide and on the south sidetwenty-five thousand cubits long; the sanctuary of Yahweh wil be in the centre of it.	10 Le lot sacré destiné aux prêtres aura 25 000 coudées au nord, 10 000 coudées de largeur à l’ouest et à l’est, et 25 000 coudées au sud. Le sanctuaire de Yahvé sera au milieu.
11 This wil be for the consecrated priests, those of the sons of Zadok who maintained my liturgy and didnot go astray with the straying Israelites, as the Levites went astray.	11 Ce territoire sera pour les prêtres consacrés, ces descendants de Sadoq qui ont assuré mon service et n’ont pas suivi les Israélites dans leur égarement comme ont fait les lévites.
12 And so their portion must be taken out of the especial y holy portion of the land, near the territory ofthe Levites.	12 Ceux-là auront un lot pris sur la part très sainte du pays, à côté du territoire des lévites.
13 The territory of the Levites, like the territory of the priests, must be twenty-five thousand cubits longand ten thousand wide -- the whole length being twenty-five thousand and the width ten thousand.	13 Le territoire des lévites, comme celui des prêtres, aura 25 000 coudées de long et 10 000 de large.
14 It wil be il egal for them to sell or exchange any part of it, and the domain can never be alienated,since it is consecrated to Yahweh.	14 Ils ne pourront ni vendre ni échanger cette terre, ils ne pourront pas la céder à quelqu’un d’autre, car elle est consacrée à Yahvé.
15 As regards the remainder, an area of five thousand cubits by twenty-five thousand, this must be forthe common use of the city, for houses and pastures. In the middle wil be the city.	15 Le terrain qui reste, large de 5 000 coudées et long de 25 000, sera un territoire profane pour la ville, les habitations et les pâturages; la ville sera au milieu.
16 These wil be its dimensions: on the north side, four thousand five hundred cubits; on the south side,four thousand five hundred cubits; on the east side, four thousand five hundred cubits; on the west side, fourthousand five hundred cubits.	16 Voici ses dimensions: 4 500 coudées au nord, 4 500 coudées au sud, 4 500 coudées à l’est, et 4 500 coudées à l’ouest.
17 The pasture land of the city must extend two hundred and fifty cubits to the north, two hundred andfifty to the south, two hundred and fifty to the east, two hundred and fifty to the west.	17 Au nord, les pâturages de la ville s’étendront sur 250 coudées à l’est et 250 à l’ouest.
18 One strip, contiguous to the sacred portion, must be left over, consisting of ten thousand cubits toeastward and ten thousand to westward, marching with the sacred portion; this wil bring in a revenue for feedingthe municipal workmen.	18 Le long de la part consacrée, il restera un terrain long de 10 000 coudées vers l’est et de 10 000 vers l’ouest; les revenus de ce terrain serviront à nourrir les travailleurs de la ville.
19 And the municipal workmen, drawn from al the tribes of Israel, wil farm it.	19 Les travailleurs de la ville seront pris parmi toutes les tribus d’Israël et cultiveront ce terrain.
20 The portion must have a total area of twenty-five thousand cubits by twenty-five thousand. You mustal ocate a square area from the sacred portion to constitute the city.	20 Au total, le lot prélevé sur l’héritage d’Israël fera 25 000 coudées sur 25 000. Au centre un espace sera réservé pour la construction de la ville.
21 What is left over wil be for the prince, on either side of the sacred portion and of the property of thecity, marching with the twenty-five thousand cubits to eastward to the eastern frontier, and marching with thetwenty-five thousand cubits to westward to the western frontier -- running paral el with the other portions andbelonging to the prince. In the centre wil be the sacred portion and the sanctuary of the Temple.	21 Le prince recevra ce qui reste à l’est et à l’ouest, de part et d’autre de la part consacrée et de la propriété de la ville, sur la bande large de 25 000 coudées allant de la frontière est à la frontière ouest; la part du prince sera parallèle aux autre lots, et au milieu sera le domaine sacré avec le sanctuaire de la Maison.
22 Thus, apart from the property of the Levites and the property of the city which lie in the middle of theprince's portion, everything between the borders of Judah and the borders of Ben- jamin must belong to theprince.	22 Ainsi le prince recevra le terrain au-delà de celui des lévites et au-delà de celui de la ville, entre le territoire de Juda et celui de Benjamin.
23 "As regards the rest of the tribes: One portion from the eastern limit to the western limit: Benjamin.	23 Voici les parts pour les autres tribus: Benjamin aura une part depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest.
24 One portion bordering Benjamin, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Simeon.	24 Juste à côté de Benjamin, Siméon aura une part depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest.
25 One portion bordering Simeon, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Issachar.	25 Juste à côté de Siméon, Issacar aura une part depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest.
26 One portion bordering Issachar, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Zebulun.	26 Juste à côté d’Issacar, Zabulon aura une part depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest.
27 One portion bordering Zebulun, from the eastern limit to the western limit: Gad.	27 Juste à côté de Zabulon, Gad aura une part depuis la frontière est jusqu’à la frontière ouest.
28 On the southern border of Gad, on the south side, the border will run from Tamar to the Waters ofMeribah in Kadesh, to the Wadi and the Great Sea.	28 La frontière méridionale de Gad ira de Tamar aux eaux de Mériba de Qadesh, jusqu’à la Grande Mer en suivant le torrent d’Égypte.
29 This is how you must distribute the country to the tribes of Israel as their heritage, and these must betheir portions -- declares the Lord Yahweh.	29 Voilà le pays que vous partagerez en héritage entre les tribus d’Israël, et voilà leur part à chacune - parole de Yahvé.
30 "Here are the exits from the city. On the north side, four thousand five hundred cubits are to bemeasured off.	30 Voici les sorties de la ville. Le côté nord fera 4 500 coudées,
31 The gates of the city are to be named after the tribes of Israel. Three gates to the north: one the gateof Reuben; one the gate of Judah; one the gate of Levi.	31 Il y aura trois portes au nord: la porte de Ruben, celle de Juda et celle de Lévi (car les portes de la ville recevront les noms des tribus d’Israël).
32 On the east side, there will be four thousand five hundred cubits and three gates: one the gate ofJoseph; one the gate of Benjamin; one the gate of Dan.	32 Le côté est mesurera 4 500 coudées, il aura trois portes: les portes de Joseph, de Benjamin et de Dan.
33 On the south side, four thousand five hundred cubits are to be measured off, and there are to bethree gates: one the gate of Simeon; one the gate of Issachar; one the gate of Zebulun.	33 Le côté sud mesurera 4 500 coudées, il aura trois portes: les portes de Siméon, d’Issacar et de Zabulon.
34 On the west side, there wil be four thousand five hundred cubits and three gates: one the gate ofGad; one the gate of Asher; one the gate of Naphtali.	34 Du côté ouest on mesurera 4 500 coudées et il y aura trois portes: les portes de Gad, d’Asher et de Nephtali.
35 Total perimeter: eighteen thousand cubits. "The name of the city in future must be: Yahweh-is-there."'	35 Le tour de la ville fera donc 18 000 coudées. Quant à son nom, il sera à partir de ce jour: “Yahvé est là.”
