Ezekiel 24

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 Mi giunse la parola del Signore, nel nono anno, al dieci del decimo mese:
2 'Son of man, write down today's date, yes, today's, for this very day the king of Babylon began hisattack on Jerusalem.	2 "Figlio dell'uomo, scrivi la data di oggi, proprio di quest'oggi; il re di Babilonia assale Gerusalemme proprio oggi.
3 So pronounce a parable for this tribe of rebels. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Put the pot on thefire; put it on; pour the water in!	3 Poi componi un detto per la casa ribelle; dille: Così parla il Signore Dio: Metti su, metti su la caldaia e versaci dentro dell'acqua;
4 Now put the cuts of meat al in together, al the best cuts, leg and shoulder. Fill it with the best bones.	4 prepara pezzi di carne, tutti pezzi buoni: coscia e spalla, poi riempi la caldaia con ossa scelte.
5 Take the best of the flock, then heap wood underneath; boil it thoroughly until even the bones arecooked.	5 Prendi il meglio del gregge, poi ammucchia sotto la legna. Cuoci quei pezzi, fa' bollire dentro anche le ossa.
6 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city, for that rusty cooking pot whose rust wil not come off! Empty it, bit by bit, not bothering to draw lots;	6 Poiché così dice il Signore Dio: O sventurata città sanguinaria, caldaia arrugginita con una ruggine che non vuole andarsene! Vuotala pezzo a pezzo, senza tirare su di essa la sorte;
7 for she is stil ful of bloodshed, she has put blood on the naked rock; she did not pour it on the groundso as to cover it with dust.	7 poiché ha sangue dentro di sé. L'ha versato su una pietra liscia; non l'ha versato per terra, che la polvere potesse coprirlo.
8 To make anger rise, to exact vengeance, I have put her blood on the naked rock, so that it should notbe covered:	8 Per provocare la mia collera e meritarsi la mia vendetta ha lasciato il suo sangue sulla pietra liscia, senza coprirlo.
9 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city! I too plan to build a great fire.	9 Perciò così dice il Signore, Dio: O sventurata città sanguinaria! Io stesso farò una catasta,
10 Heap on the wood, light it, cook the meat, prepare the seasoning let the bones burn!	10 aumenterò la legna, accenderò il fuoco, consumerò la carne, la ridurrò in poltiglia e le ossa saranno bruciate.
11 Put the empty pot on the coals to make it hot, until the bronze glows, the filth inside melts and therust is burnt away!	11 La piazzerò vuota su carboni ardenti, perché si scaldi e il suo rame bruci e si fonda la sua impurità e sia distrutta la sua ruggine.
12 "But al that rust would not come off in the fire.	12 Ma non si stacca tutta quella ruggine, che resiste persino al fuoco!
13 Your filth is infamous. Since I have tried to purge you and you would not let yourself be purged ofyour filth, so now you wil never be purged of your filth until I have sated my anger on you.	13 Nella tua impurità ignominiosa volli purificarti e non ti lasciasti purificare. Ora dalla tua impurità non ti purificherò più finché non abbia sfogato il mio furore contro di te.
14 I, Yahweh, have spoken; this wil happen; I shal act and not relent; I shal show no pity, nocompassion. You will be judged as your conduct and actions deserve -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	14 Io, il Signore, ho parlato; è partita la mia parola e l'eseguirò; non desisterò, non avrò compassione, non avrò pietà; ti giudicherò secondo la tua condotta e le tue azioni. Oracolo del Signore Dio".
15 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	15 Mi giunse la parola del Signore:
16 'Son of man, at a blow I am about to deprive you of the delight of your eyes. But you are not tolament, not to weep, not to let your tears run down.	16 "Figlio dell'uomo: ora ti porterò via all'improvviso la delizia dei tuoi occhi; ma non piangere, non singhiozzare, non versar lacrime.
17 Groan in silence, do not go into mourning for the dead, knot your turban round your head, put yoursandals on your feet, do not cover your beard, do not eat the usual food.'	17 Gemi, sta' in silenzio, ma non fare il lutto dei morti. Légati pure il tuo turbante, mèttiti i sandali ai piedi, non coprirti la barba e non mangiare il pane del lutto".
18 I told this to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, and the next morning I did asI had been ordered.	18 Parlai al popolo al mattino e alla sera mia moglie morì. All'indomani feci come mi fu comandato.
19 The people then said to me, 'Will you not explain what meaning these actions have for us?'	19 Il popolo mi disse: "Vuoi annunciarci che cosa significa per noi quel che fai?".
20 I replied, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,	20 Io risposi: "Mi giunse la parola del Signore:
21 "Say to the House of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am about to profane my sanctuary, thepride of your strength, the delight of your eyes, the joy of your hearts. Your sons and daughters whom you haveleft behind wil fall by the sword.	21 Di' alla casa d'Israele: così dice il Signore Dio: Badate! Io profano il mio santuario, orgoglio della vostra forza, delizia dei vostri occhi e sollecitudine delle vostre anime, e i figli e le figlie che lasciaste là cadranno di spada.
22 Then you wil do as I have done: you wil not cover your beards or eat the usual food;	22 Voi farete come ho fatto io: non vi coprirete la barba, non mangerete il pane del lutto.
23 you will keep your turbans on your heads and your sandals on your feet; you wil not lament or weepbut will waste away for your crimes, groaning among yourselves.	23 Terrete il vostro turbante in testa e i sandali nei piedi, non piangerete, non singhiozzerete, languirete nelle vostre colpe, vi lamenterete l'uno con l'altro.
24 Thus Ezekiel is a sign for you. You wil do exactly what he has done. And when this happens, you willknow that I am Lord Yahweh!"	24 Ezechiele sarà per voi un segno; farete tutto come ha fatto lui. Quando ciò vi accadrà riconoscerete che io sono il Signore Dio.
25 'And, son of man, the day that I deprive them of their strength, their crowning joy, the delight of theireyes, the joy of their hearts, their sons and daughters,	25 Tu, figlio dell'uomo, quando avrò portato loro via la fortezza, la gioia della loro gloria, la delizia dei loro occhi, la nostalgia delle loro anime, i loro figli e le loro figlie,
26 that day a survivor wil bring you the news.	26 allora a te verrà un profugo, perché le tue orecchie ascoltino.
27 That day your mouth wil be opened to speak to the survivor; you wil speak and no longer be dumb;you wil be a sign for them, and they wil know that I am Yahweh.'	27 Allora si aprirà la tua bocca con il profugo e parlerai; non sarai più muto. Sarai per loro un segno. Riconoscerete che io sono il Signore".
