NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 En la neuvième année, le dixième jour du dixième mois, cette parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
2 'Son of man, write down today's date, yes, today's, for this very day the king of Babylon began hisattack on Jerusalem.	2 “Fils d’homme, note par écrit cette date, car c’est aujourd’hui que le roi de Babylone a mis le siège devant Jérusalem.
3 So pronounce a parable for this tribe of rebels. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Put the pot on thefire; put it on; pour the water in!	3 Parle donc de façon imagée pour cette bande de rebelles. Tu diras de la part de Yahvé: Pose la marmite sur le feu et verses-y de l’eau.
4 Now put the cuts of meat al in together, al the best cuts, leg and shoulder. Fill it with the best bones.	4 Remplis-la de morceaux de viande, des meilleurs morceaux: la cuisse et l’épaule. Remplis-la des meilleurs os.
5 Take the best of the flock, then heap wood underneath; boil it thoroughly until even the bones arecooked.	5 Tu iras prendre au troupeau ce qu’il y a de meilleur, tu amasseras du bois sous la marmite et la feras bouillir à gros bouillons jusqu’à ce que les os eux-mêmes soient cuits.”
6 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city, for that rusty cooking pot whose rust wil not come off! Empty it, bit by bit, not bothering to draw lots;	6 Et maintenant, voici ce que dit Yahvé: “Malheur à la ville sanguinaire! C’est une marmite rouillée et sa rouille ne s’en va pas, vide-la morceau par morceau sans choisir.
7 for she is stil ful of bloodshed, she has put blood on the naked rock; she did not pour it on the groundso as to cover it with dust.	7 Car il y a du sang au milieu d’elle. Elle l’a répandu à même le roc, elle ne l’a pas versé sur le sol ni recouvert avec de la terre.
8 To make anger rise, to exact vengeance, I have put her blood on the naked rock, so that it should notbe covered:	8 Moi-même j’ai voulu ce sang à même le rocher, pas même recouvert, de façon à exciter ma colère et précipiter la vengeance.
9 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city! I too plan to build a great fire.	9 C’est pourquoi, voici ce que dit Yahvé: Malheur à la ville sanguinaire! À mon tour je prépare un grand bûcher,
10 Heap on the wood, light it, cook the meat, prepare the seasoning let the bones burn!	10 j’entasse le bois, j’allume le feu et je vais cuire si bien la viande que le jus aura disparu.
11 Put the empty pot on the coals to make it hot, until the bronze glows, the filth inside melts and therust is burnt away!	11 Je poserai ensuite la marmite vide sur les charbons, elle chauffera, le bronze rougira, ses impuretés disparaîtront et sa rouille sera dévorée.
12 "But al that rust would not come off in the fire.	12 Mais non! La rouille est profonde et ne s’en va pas avec le feu.
13 Your filth is infamous. Since I have tried to purge you and you would not let yourself be purged ofyour filth, so now you wil never be purged of your filth until I have sated my anger on you.	13 Tes fautes t’ont souillée à tel point que tu ne pourras redevenir pure si je ne laisse pas libre cours à ma colère contre toi.
14 I, Yahweh, have spoken; this wil happen; I shal act and not relent; I shal show no pity, nocompassion. You will be judged as your conduct and actions deserve -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	14 Moi Yahvé je l’ai dit, et je le ferai; je ne reviendrai pas en arrière, je n’aurai ni pitié ni miséricorde, on te jugera selon ta conduite et selon tes œuvres, parole de Yahvé.
15 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	15 Une parole de Yahvé me fut adressée:
16 'Son of man, at a blow I am about to deprive you of the delight of your eyes. But you are not tolament, not to weep, not to let your tears run down.	16 “Fils d’homme, je vais d’un coup te retirer la joie de tes yeux, mais tu ne feras pas de lamentation et tu ne pleureras pas ( ).
17 Groan in silence, do not go into mourning for the dead, knot your turban round your head, put yoursandals on your feet, do not cover your beard, do not eat the usual food.'	17 Soupire en silence et ne prends pas le deuil comme on le fait pour les morts; garde ton turban sur la tête et tes sandales à tes pieds, ne couvre pas ta barbe et ne mange pas de pain apporté par les voisins.”
18 I told this to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, and the next morning I did asI had been ordered.	18 Le matin je parlais au peuple, et le soir ma femme était morte. Le lendemain matin j’ai fait comme j’en avais reçu l’ordre;
19 The people then said to me, 'Will you not explain what meaning these actions have for us?'	19 alors le peuple m’a dit: “Vas-tu nous expliquer pourquoi tu agis ainsi?”
20 I replied, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,	20 Je leur ai répondu: “Voici la parole de Yahvé qui m’a été adressée:
21 "Say to the House of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am about to profane my sanctuary, thepride of your strength, the delight of your eyes, the joy of your hearts. Your sons and daughters whom you haveleft behind wil fall by the sword.	21 Tu diras de ma part à la maison d’Israël: Je m’apprête à profaner mon sanctuaire dont vous êtes si orgueilleux, qui est la joie de vos yeux; vos fils et vos filles que vous avez laissés et auxquels vous ne cessez de penser, seront également frappés.
22 Then you wil do as I have done: you wil not cover your beards or eat the usual food;	22 Mais vous ferez comme j’ai fait, vous ne vous couvrirez pas la barbe, vous ne mangerez pas le pain apporté par les voisins,
23 you will keep your turbans on your heads and your sandals on your feet; you wil not lament or weepbut will waste away for your crimes, groaning among yourselves.	23 vous garderez vos turbans sur la tête et vos sandales aux pieds, vous ne gémirez pas et vous ne pleurerez pas. Vous dépérirez à cause de vos méfaits et vous vous lamenterez entre vous.
24 Thus Ezekiel is a sign for you. You wil do exactly what he has done. And when this happens, you willknow that I am Lord Yahweh!"	24 Ézékiel sera pour vous un signe: tout ce qu’il a fait, vous le ferez pareillement et, lorsque cela arrivera, vous saurez que je suis Yahvé.
25 'And, son of man, the day that I deprive them of their strength, their crowning joy, the delight of theireyes, the joy of their hearts, their sons and daughters,	25 “Retiens cet avis, fils d’homme: le jour où je leur enlèverai leur ‘refuge’, ce joyau qui est la joie de leurs yeux, ainsi que leurs fils et leurs filles auxquels ils ne cessent de penser,
26 that day a survivor wil bring you the news.	26 ce jour-là un rescapé viendra t’en apporter la nouvelle.
27 That day your mouth wil be opened to speak to the survivor; you wil speak and no longer be dumb;you wil be a sign for them, and they wil know that I am Yahweh.'	27 Alors ta bouche s’ouvrira pour parler au rescapé, tu ne seras plus muet. Tu seras pour eux un signe et ils sauront que je suis Yahvé.”
