Ezekiel 24

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA MARTINI
1 In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 E IL Signore parlommi l'anno nono, il decimo mese, ai dieci del mese, dicendo:
2 'Son of man, write down today's date, yes, today's, for this very day the king of Babylon began hisattack on Jerusalem.	2 Figliuolo dell'uomo, prendi memoria di questo giorno, perchè oggi il re di Babilonia si e piantato dinanzi a Gerusalemme.
3 So pronounce a parable for this tribe of rebels. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Put the pot on thefire; put it on; pour the water in!	3 E dirai a questa casa di contumaci una maniera d'allegoria, e parlerai loro con questa parabola: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Prendi una caldaia, prendila, io dico, e mettivi dell'acqua,
4 Now put the cuts of meat al in together, al the best cuts, leg and shoulder. Fill it with the best bones.	4 Gettavi dentro pezzi di carne tutta scelta, la coscia, e la spalla, le parti ottime, e piene di ossa:
5 Take the best of the flock, then heap wood underneath; boil it thoroughly until even the bones arecooked.	5 Prendi carne di bestie grassissime, e metti ancora una massa di ossa sotto la caldaia: ella bollirà a scroscio, e si cuoceranno dentro di lei anche le ossa.
6 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city, for that rusty cooking pot whose rust wil not come off! Empty it, bit by bit, not bothering to draw lots;	6 Per questo dice il Signore Dio: Guai alla città sanguinaria, caldaia, che è tutta ruggine, e la ruggine non si è partita da lei: getta via (la carne) a pezzi, un pezzo dietro all'altro; non si dia luogo alla sorte.
7 for she is stil ful of bloodshed, she has put blood on the naked rock; she did not pour it on the groundso as to cover it with dust.	7 Perocché in mezzo a lei è il sangue, cui ella sparse: sopra tersissima pietra ella lo sparse, non lo sparse sulla terra, onde possa essere dalla polvere ricoperto;
8 To make anger rise, to exact vengeance, I have put her blood on the naked rock, so that it should notbe covered:	8 Ond' io sopra di lei cader facessi la mia indegnazione, e facessi vendetta: il sangue di lei ho sparso sopra tersissima pietra, onde non resti celato.
9 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city! I too plan to build a great fire.	9 Per questo il Signore Dio parla così: Guai alla città sanguinaria, della quale io farò un gran fuoco.
10 Heap on the wood, light it, cook the meat, prepare the seasoning let the bones burn!	10 Metti le une sopra l'altre le ossa, alle quali io darò fuoco: le carni si consumeranno, e tutto quello, che entra nella caldaia, si struggerà, e si sfarineranno le ossa.
11 Put the empty pot on the coals to make it hot, until the bronze glows, the filth inside melts and therust is burnt away!	11 Dopo di ciò tu porrai la caldaia vuota sopra i carboni, affinchè si arroventi il rame, e si liquefaccia, onde si strugga il suo sudiciume, e si consumi la ruggine:
12 "But al that rust would not come off in the fire.	12 Con fatica grande, e sudore non se le potè toglier la ruggine, neppur a forza di fuoco.
13 Your filth is infamous. Since I have tried to purge you and you would not let yourself be purged ofyour filth, so now you wil never be purged of your filth until I have sated my anger on you.	13 Degna d'esecrazione è la tua immondezza; perocché io volli mondarti, e tu non ti se' mondata dalle tue lordure: e neppure ti monderai, fino a tanto che io abbia sfogato sopra di te il mio sdegno.
14 I, Yahweh, have spoken; this wil happen; I shal act and not relent; I shal show no pity, nocompassion. You will be judged as your conduct and actions deserve -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	14 Io il Signore ho parlato: Verrà il tempo, e io farò: non darò indietro, né perdonerò, né mi placherò: secondo le tue vie, e secondo i tuoi ritrovamenti io ti giudicherò, dice il Signore.
15 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	15 E il Signore parlommi, dicendo:
16 'Son of man, at a blow I am about to deprive you of the delight of your eyes. But you are not tolament, not to weep, not to let your tears run down.	16 Figliuolo dell'uomo ecco, che io repentinamente ti tolgo quel, che più amano gli occhi tuoi, e non ti batterai il petto, né piangerai, né darai libero corso alle tue lagrime.
17 Groan in silence, do not go into mourning for the dead, knot your turban round your head, put yoursandals on your feet, do not cover your beard, do not eat the usual food.'	17 Sospirerai in segreto, non menerai duolo, come si usa pei morti: tien legata alla testa la tua corona, e avrai a' tuoi piedi i calzari, né ti coprirai con velo la faccia, e non mangerai de' cibi, usati da que', che sono in dolore.
18 I told this to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, and the next morning I did asI had been ordered.	18 Io adunque riferii ciò al popolo la mattina, e si morì alla sera la mia moglie: e al mattino feci come m' avea comandato il Signore.
19 The people then said to me, 'Will you not explain what meaning these actions have for us?'	19 E disse a me il popolo: Perchè non dichiari tu a noi, che voglian dire le cose, che tu ti fa?
20 I replied, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,	20 Ed io dissi loro: Il Signore mi ha parlato, dicendo:
21 "Say to the House of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am about to profane my sanctuary, thepride of your strength, the delight of your eyes, the joy of your hearts. Your sons and daughters whom you haveleft behind wil fall by the sword.	21 Parla alla casa d'Israele: Queste cose dice il Signore Dio: Ecco, che io profanerò il mio santuario, la gloria del vostro impero, e quello, che più amano gli occhi vostri, e quello, per cui sta in sollecitudine l'anima vostra: i figli vostri, e le figlie, che voi lasciaste, periranno di spada.
22 Then you wil do as I have done: you wil not cover your beards or eat the usual food;	22 E farete come ho fatt'io, non vi cuoprirete con velo la faccia, e non mangerete i cibi usati da que', che sono in dolore.
23 you will keep your turbans on your heads and your sandals on your feet; you wil not lament or weepbut will waste away for your crimes, groaning among yourselves.	23 Porterete le corone su' vostri capi, e a' piedi i calzari: non vi batterete il petto, e non piangerete; ma vi consumerete a motivo delle vostre iniquità, e ognun di voi sospirerà rivolto al proprio fratello.
24 Thus Ezekiel is a sign for you. You wil do exactly what he has done. And when this happens, you willknow that I am Lord Yahweh!"	24 Ed Ezechiele sarà un segno per voi, secondo quello, che egli ha fatto, farete voi quando ciò accaderà: e conoscerete, ch'io sono il Signore Dio.
25 'And, son of man, the day that I deprive them of their strength, their crowning joy, the delight of theireyes, the joy of their hearts, their sons and daughters,	25 E tu figliuolo dell'uomo, ecco, che in quel dì, in cui io torrò loro quello, che li fa forti, quel, che è loro consolazione, e loro gloria, e quel, che più amano gli occhi loro, e quello, in cuj le anime loro confidano, e torro loro i figliuoli, e le figlie:
26 that day a survivor wil bring you the news.	26 In quel dì quando un fuggitivo giungerà a te, recandotene la novella,
27 That day your mouth wil be opened to speak to the survivor; you wil speak and no longer be dumb;you wil be a sign for them, and they wil know that I am Yahweh.'	27 In quel giorno, io dico, aprirai tu la bocca col fuggitivo, e parlerai, e non istarai più in silenzio; e sarai per essi un segno: e voi conoscerete, che io sono il Signore.
