Ezekiel 24

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 In the ninth year, on the tenth day of the tenth month, the word of Yahweh was addressed to me asfol ows,	1 El año noveno, el día diez del décimo mes, la palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
2 'Son of man, write down today's date, yes, today's, for this very day the king of Babylon began hisattack on Jerusalem.	2 Hijo de hombre, anota la fecha del día de hoy, justo la de este día, porque hoy mismo el rey de Babilonia se ha lanzado contra Jerusalén.
3 So pronounce a parable for this tribe of rebels. Say, "The Lord Yahweh says this: Put the pot on thefire; put it on; pour the water in!	3 Di una parábola a ese pueblo rebelde. Tú les dirás: Así habla el Señor: Arrima la olla al fuego, arrímala y échale agua.
4 Now put the cuts of meat al in together, al the best cuts, leg and shoulder. Fill it with the best bones.	4 Agrégale trozos de carne, los mejores trozos –la pata y la espalda–, llénala con los mejores huesos.
5 Take the best of the flock, then heap wood underneath; boil it thoroughly until even the bones arecooked.	5 Toma lo mejor del rebaño y amontona leña debajo de ella, para que hierva a borbotones y se cocinen hasta los huesos.
6 "For the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city, for that rusty cooking pot whose rust wil not come off! Empty it, bit by bit, not bothering to draw lots;	6 Por eso, así habla el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria, esa olla herrumbrada cuya herrumbre no desaparece! Vacíala pedazo a pedazo, sin que la suerte caiga sobre ella.
7 for she is stil ful of bloodshed, she has put blood on the naked rock; she did not pour it on the groundso as to cover it with dust.	7 Porque la sangre que derramó está en medio de ella: la puso sobre la roca desnuda, no la derramó por tierra ni la cubrió con el polvo.
8 To make anger rise, to exact vengeance, I have put her blood on the naked rock, so that it should notbe covered:	8 Para que desborde mi ira, para dar lugar a mi vergüenza, he puesto su sangre sobre la roca desnuda, a fin de que no sea cubierta.
9 "So, the Lord Yahweh says this: Disaster is in store for the bloody city! I too plan to build a great fire.	9 Por eso, así habla el Señor: ¡Ay de la ciudad sanguinaria! Yo también voy a encender una gran hoguera.
10 Heap on the wood, light it, cook the meat, prepare the seasoning let the bones burn!	10 Amontona la leña, enciende el fuego, cocina bien la carne, prepara el condimento, y que se consuman los huesos.
11 Put the empty pot on the coals to make it hot, until the bronze glows, the filth inside melts and therust is burnt away!	11 Coloca luego la olla vacía sobre las brasas, y el bronce se ponga al rojo vivo, para que se fundan las impurezas dentro de ella y se consuma se herrumbre.
12 "But al that rust would not come off in the fire.	12 Pero es tanta su herrumbre, que no desaparece ni con el fuego.
13 Your filth is infamous. Since I have tried to purge you and you would not let yourself be purged ofyour filth, so now you wil never be purged of your filth until I have sated my anger on you.	13 Yo he querido purificarte de tu infame lascivia, pero tú no te has dejado purificar: por eso, no quedará purificada hasta que no haya apaciguado mi furor contra ti,
14 I, Yahweh, have spoken; this wil happen; I shal act and not relent; I shal show no pity, nocompassion. You will be judged as your conduct and actions deserve -- declares the Lord Yahweh." '	14 Yo, el Señor, he hablado y esto sucederá: obraré y no me volveré atrás, no tendré compasión ni me arrepentiré. Conforme a tu conducta y a tus malas acciones se te juzgará –oráculo del Señor.
15 The word of Yahweh was addressed to me as fol ows,	15 La palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
16 'Son of man, at a blow I am about to deprive you of the delight of your eyes. But you are not tolament, not to weep, not to let your tears run down.	16 Hijo de hombre, yo voy a arrebatarte de golpe la delicia de tus ojos, pero tú no te lamentarás, ni llorarás, ni derramarás lágrimas.
17 Groan in silence, do not go into mourning for the dead, knot your turban round your head, put yoursandals on your feet, do not cover your beard, do not eat the usual food.'	17 Suspira en silencio, no hagas ninguna clase de duelo, cíñete el turbante, cálzate con sandalias, no te cubras la barba ni comas pan de duelo.
18 I told this to the people in the morning, and my wife died in the evening, and the next morning I did asI had been ordered.	18 Yo hablé al pueblo por la mañana, y por la tarde murió mi esposa; y a la mañana siguiente hice lo que se me había ordenado.
19 The people then said to me, 'Will you not explain what meaning these actions have for us?'	19 La gente me dijo: «¿No vas a explicarnos qué significa lo que haces?».
20 I replied, 'The word of Yahweh has been addressed to me as fol ows,	20 Yo les dije: Las palabra del Señor me llegó en estos términos:
21 "Say to the House of Israel, the Lord Yahweh says this: I am about to profane my sanctuary, thepride of your strength, the delight of your eyes, the joy of your hearts. Your sons and daughters whom you haveleft behind wil fall by the sword.	21 Di a la casa de Israel: Así habla el Señor: Yo voy a profanar mi Santuario, el orgullo de su fuerza, la delicia de sus ojos y la esperanza de sus vidas. Los hijos y las hijas que ustedes han dejado, caerán bajo la espada,
22 Then you wil do as I have done: you wil not cover your beards or eat the usual food;	22 y ustedes harán lo mismo que yo: no se cubrirán la barba, no comerán el pan de duelo,
23 you will keep your turbans on your heads and your sandals on your feet; you wil not lament or weepbut will waste away for your crimes, groaning among yourselves.	23 no se quitarán el turbante de la cabeza ni las sandalias de los pies, no se lamentarán, ni llorarán, sino que se consumirán a causa de sus culpas y gemirán unos con otros.
24 Thus Ezekiel is a sign for you. You wil do exactly what he has done. And when this happens, you willknow that I am Lord Yahweh!"	24 Ezequiel habrá sido para ustedes un presagio: ustedes harán lo mismo que él hizo, y cuando esto suceda sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
25 'And, son of man, the day that I deprive them of their strength, their crowning joy, the delight of theireyes, the joy of their hearts, their sons and daughters,	25 En cuanto a ti, hijo de hombre, el día en que yo les quite su refugio, su espléndida alegría, la delicia de sus ojos, la pasión de sus vidas, y también a sus hijos y a sus hijas,
26 that day a survivor wil bring you the news.	26 ese día llegará hasta ti un fugitivo para comunicarte la noticia.
27 That day your mouth wil be opened to speak to the survivor; you wil speak and no longer be dumb;you wil be a sign for them, and they wil know that I am Yahweh.'	27 Ese día tu boca se abrirá para hablar al fugitivo y ya no te quedarás mudo; serás para ellos un presagio, y así sabrán que yo soy el Señor.
