Baruch 5

NEW JERUSALEM	LXX
1 Jerusalem, take off your dress of sorrow and distress, put on the beauty of God's glory for evermore,	1 εκδυσαι ιερουσαλημ την στολην του πενθους και της κακωσεως σου και ενδυσαι την ευπρεπειαν της παρα του θεου δοξης εις τον αιωνα
2 wrap the cloak of God's saving justice around you, put the diadem of the Eternal One's glory on yourhead,	2 περιβαλου την διπλοιδα της παρα του θεου δικαιοσυνης επιθου την μιτραν επι την κεφαλην σου της δοξης του αιωνιου
3 for God means to show your splendour to every nation under heaven,	3 ο γαρ θεος δειξει τη υπ' ουρανον παση την σην λαμπροτητα
4 and the name God gives you for evermore wil be, 'Peace-through-Justice, and Glory-through-Devotion'.	4 κληθησεται γαρ σου το ονομα παρα του θεου εις τον αιωνα ειρηνη δικαιοσυνης και δοξα θεοσεβειας
5 Arise, Jerusalem, stand on the heights and turn your eyes to the east: see your children reassembledfrom west and east at the Holy One's command, rejoicing because God has remembered.	5 αναστηθι ιερουσαλημ και στηθι επι του υψηλου και περιβλεψαι προς ανατολας και ιδε σου συνηγμενα τα τεκνα απο ηλιου δυσμων εως ανατολων τω ρηματι του αγιου χαιροντας τη του θεου μνεια
6 Though they left you on foot driven by enemies, now God brings them back to you, carried gloriously,like a royal throne.	6 εξηλθον γαρ παρα σου πεζοι αγομενοι υπο εχθρων εισαγει δε αυτους ο θεος προς σε αιρομενους μετα δοξης ως θρονον βασιλειας
7 For God has decreed the flattening of each high mountain, of the everlasting hills, the fil ing of theval eys to make the ground level so that Israel can walk safely in God's glory.	7 συνεταξεν γαρ ο θεος ταπεινουσθαι παν ορος υψηλον και θινας αεναους και φαραγγας πληρουσθαι εις ομαλισμον της γης ινα βαδιση ισραηλ ασφαλως τη του θεου δοξη
8 And the forests and every fragrant tree wil provide shade for Israel, at God's command;	8 εσκιασαν δε και οι δρυμοι και παν ξυλον ευωδιας τω ισραηλ προσταγματι του θεου
9 for God wil guide Israel in joy by the light of his glory, with the mercy and saving justice which comefrom him. A copy of the letter which Jeremiah sent to those about to be led captive to Babylon by the king of theBabylonians, to tel them what he had been commanded by God:	9 ηγησεται γαρ ο θεος ισραηλ μετ' ευφροσυνης τω φωτι της δοξης αυτου συν ελεημοσυνη και δικαιοσυνη τη παρ' αυτου
