Baruch 5

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Jerusalem, take off your dress of sorrow and distress, put on the beauty of God's glory for evermore,	1 Deponi, o Gerusalemme, la veste del lutto e dell’afflizione, rivèstiti dello splendore della gloria che ti viene da Dio per sempre.
2 wrap the cloak of God's saving justice around you, put the diadem of the Eternal One's glory on yourhead,	2 Avvolgiti nel manto della giustizia di Dio, metti sul tuo capo il diadema di gloria dell’Eterno,
3 for God means to show your splendour to every nation under heaven,	3 perché Dio mostrerà il tuo splendore a ogni creatura sotto il cielo.
4 and the name God gives you for evermore wil be, 'Peace-through-Justice, and Glory-through-Devotion'.	4 Sarai chiamata da Dio per sempre: «Pace di giustizia» e «Gloria di pietà».
5 Arise, Jerusalem, stand on the heights and turn your eyes to the east: see your children reassembledfrom west and east at the Holy One's command, rejoicing because God has remembered.	5 Sorgi, o Gerusalemme, sta’ in piedi sull’altura e guarda verso oriente; vedi i tuoi figli riuniti, dal tramonto del sole fino al suo sorgere, alla parola del Santo, esultanti per il ricordo di Dio.
6 Though they left you on foot driven by enemies, now God brings them back to you, carried gloriously,like a royal throne.	6 Si sono allontanati da te a piedi, incalzati dai nemici; ora Dio te li riconduce in trionfo, come sopra un trono regale.
7 For God has decreed the flattening of each high mountain, of the everlasting hills, the fil ing of theval eys to make the ground level so that Israel can walk safely in God's glory.	7 Poiché Dio ha deciso di spianare ogni alta montagna e le rupi perenni, di colmare le valli livellando il terreno, perché Israele proceda sicuro sotto la gloria di Dio.
8 And the forests and every fragrant tree wil provide shade for Israel, at God's command;	8 Anche le selve e ogni albero odoroso hanno fatto ombra a Israele per comando di Dio.
9 for God wil guide Israel in joy by the light of his glory, with the mercy and saving justice which comefrom him. A copy of the letter which Jeremiah sent to those about to be led captive to Babylon by the king of theBabylonians, to tel them what he had been commanded by God:	9 Perché Dio ricondurrà Israele con gioia alla luce della sua gloria, con la misericordia e la giustizia che vengono da lui. Lettera di Geremia Copia della lettera che Geremia mandò a coloro che stavano per essere condotti prigionieri a Babilonia dal re dei Babilonesi, per annunciare loro quanto era stato ordinato a lui da Dio.
