NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
Almighty Lord, God of Israel, a soul in anguish, a troubled heart now cries to you:1 O Lord Almighty, God of Israel, the soul in anguish the troubled spirit, crieth unto thee.
Listen and have pity, Lord, for we have sinned before you.2 Hear, O Lord, and have mercy; ar thou art merciful: and have pity upon us, because we have sinned before thee.
You sit enthroned for ever, while we are perishing for ever.3 For thou endurest for ever, and we perish utterly.
Almighty Lord, God of Israel, hear the prayer of the dead of Israel, of the children of those who havesinned against you and have not listened to the voice of the Lord their God; hence the disasters which dog us.4 O Lord Almighty, thou God of Israel, hear now the prayers of the dead Israelites, and of their children, which have sinned before thee, and not hearkened unto the voice of thee their God: for the which cause these plagues cleave unto us.
Do not cal to mind the misdeeds of our ancestors, but remember instead your power and your name.5 Remember not the iniquities of our forefathers: but think upon thy power and thy name now at this time.
You are indeed the Lord our God and we wil praise you, Lord,6 For thou art the Lord our God, and thee, O Lord, will we praise.
since you have put respect for you in our hearts to encourage us to cal on your name. We long topraise you in our exile, for we have rid our hearts of the wickedness of our ancestors who sinned against you.7 And for this cause thou hast put thy fear in our hearts, to the intent that we should call upon thy name, and praise thee in our captivity: for we have called to mind all the iniquity of our forefathers, that sinned before thee.
Look, today we are still in exile where you have scattered us as something contemptible, accursed, condemned, for al the misdeeds of our ancestors who had abandoned the Lord our God.8 Behold, we are yet this day in our captivity, where thou hast scattered us, for a reproach and a curse, and to be subject to payments, according to all the iniquities of our fathers, which departed from the Lord our God.
Listen, Israel, to commands that bring life; hear, and learn what knowledge means.9 Hear, Israel, the commandments of life: give ear to understand wisdom.
Why, Israel, why are you in the country of your enemies, growing older and older in an alien land,10 How happeneth it Israel, that thou art in thine enemies' land, that thou art waxen old in a strange country, that thou art defiled with the dead,
defiling yourselves with the dead, reckoned with those who go to Sheol?11 That thou art counted with them that go down into the grave?
It is because you have forsaken the fountain of wisdom!12 Thou hast forsaken the fountain of wisdom.
Had you walked in the way of God, you would be living in peace for ever.13 For if thou hadst walked in the way of God, thou shouldest have dwelled in peace for ever.
Learn where knowledge is, where strength, where understanding, and so learn where length of days is,where life, where the light of the eyes and where peace.14 Learn where is wisdom, where is strength, where is understanding; that thou mayest know also where is length of days, and life, where is the light of the eyes, and peace.
But who has found out where she lives, who has entered her treasure house?15 Who hath found out her place? or who hath come into her treasures ?
Where now are the leaders of the nations and those who ruled even the beasts of earth,16 Where are the princes of the heathen become, and such as ruled the beasts upon the earth;
those who sported with the birds of heaven, those who accumulated silver and gold on which alpeople rely, and whose possessions had no end,17 They that had their pastime with the fowls of the air, and they that hoarded up silver and gold, wherein men trust, and made no end of their getting?
those who worked so carefully in silver -but of whose works no trace is to be found?18 For they that wrought in silver, and were so careful, and whose works are unsearchable,
They have vanished, gone down to Sheol. Others have risen to their places,19 They are vanished and gone down to the grave, and others are come up in their steads.
more recent generations have seen the day and peopled the earth in their turn, but the way ofknowledge they have not found;20 Young men have seen light, and dwelt upon the earth: but the way of knowledge have they not known,
they have not recognised the paths she treads. Nor have their children had any grasp of her, remainingfar from her way.21 Nor understood the paths thereof, nor laid hold of it: their children were far off from that way.
Nothing has been heard of her in Canaan, nothing has been seen of her in Teman;22 It hath not been heard of in Chanaan, neither hath it been seen in Theman.
the children of Hagar in search of worldly wisdom, the merchants of Midian and Teman, the tale-spinners and the philosophers have none of them found the way to wisdom or remembered the paths shetreads.23 The Agarenes that seek wisdom upon earth, the merchants of Meran and of Theman, the authors of fables, and searchers out of understanding; none of these have known the way of wisdom, or remember her paths.
How great, Israel, is the house of God, how wide his domain,24 O Israel, how great is the house of God! and how large is the place of his possession!
immeasurably wide, infinitely lofty!25 Great, and hath none end; high, and unmeasurable.
In it were born the giants, famous from the beginning, immensely tal , expert in war;26 There were the giants famous from the beginning, that were of so great stature, and so expert in war.
God's choice did not fall on these, he did not show them the way of knowledge;27 Those did not the Lord choose, neither gave he the way of knowledge unto them:
they perished for lack of wisdom, perished by their own folly.28 But they were destroyed, because they had no wisdom, and perished through their own foolishness.
Who has ever climbed the sky and seized her to bring her down from the clouds?29 Who hath gone up into heaven, and taken her, and brought her down from the clouds?
Who has ever crossed the ocean and found her to bring her back in exchange for the finest gold?30 Who hath gone over the sea, and found her, and will bring her for pure gold?
No one can learn the way to her, no one can understand the path she treads.31 No man knoweth her way, nor thinketh of her path.
But the One who knows al discovers her, he has grasped her with his own intel ect, he has set theearth firm for evermore and filled it with four-footed beasts,32 But he that knoweth all things knoweth her, and hath found her out with his understanding: he that prepared the earth for evermore hath filled it with fourfooted beasts:
he sends the light -- and it goes, he recal s it -- and trembling it obeys;33 He that sendeth forth light, and it goeth, calleth it again, and it obeyeth him with fear.
the stars shine joyful y at their posts;34 The stars shined in their watches, and rejoiced: when he calleth them, they say, Here we be; and so with cheerfulness they shewed light unto him that made them.
when he cal s them, they answer, 'Here we are'; they shine to delight their Creator.35 This is our God, and there shall none other be accounted of in comparison of him
It is he who is our God, no other can compare with him.36 He hath found out all the way of knowledge, and hath given it unto Jacob his servant, and to Israel his beloved.
He has uncovered the whole way of knowledge and shown it to his servant Jacob, to Israel his wel -beloved;37 Afterward did he shew himself upon earth, and conversed with men.
only then did she appear on earth and live among human beings.
