Leviticus 24

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	1 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
2 'Order the Israelites to bring you crushed-olive oil for the lamp-stand, and keep a flame burning therecontinual y.	2 צו את בני ישראל ויקחו אליך שמן זית זך כתית למאור להעלת נר תמיד
3 Aaron wil keep it permanently in trim from evening to morning, outside the curtain of the Testimony inthe Tent of Meeting, before Yahweh. This is a perpetual decree for your descendants:	3 מחוץ לפרכת העדת באהל מועד יערך אתו אהרן מערב עד בקר לפני יהוה תמיד חקת עולם לדרתיכם
4 Aaron wil keep the lamps permanently trimmed on the pure lamp-stand before Yahweh.	4 על המנרה הטהרה יערך את הנרות לפני יהוה תמיד
5 'You will take wheaten flour and with it bake twelve loaves, each of two-tenths of an ephah.	5 ולקחת סלת ואפית אתה שתים עשרה חלות שני עשרנים יהיה החלה האחת
6 You will then place them in two rows of six on the pure table before Yahweh	6 ושמת אותם שתים מערכות שש המערכת על השלחן הטהר לפני יהוה
7 and put pure incense on each row, to make it food offered as a memorial, food burnt for Yahweh.	7 ונתת על המערכת לבנה זכה והיתה ללחם לאזכרה אשה ליהוה
8 Every Sabbath they wil be arranged before Yahweh. The Israelites wil provide them as a permanentcovenant.	8 ביום השבת ביום השבת יערכנו לפני יהוה תמיד מאת בני ישראל ברית עולם
9 They wil belong to Aaron and his sons, who wil eat them inside the holy place since, for him, they arean especial y holy part of the food burnt for Yahweh. This is a permanent law.'	9 והיתה לאהרן ולבניו ואכלהו במקום קדש כי קדש קדשים הוא לו מאשי יהוה חק עולם
10 There was a man whose mother was an Israelite woman and whose father was an Egyptian. Hecame out of his house and, in the camp, surrounded by the Israelites, he began to quarrel with a man who wasan Israelite.	10 ויצא בן אשה ישראלית והוא בן איש מצרי בתוך בני ישראל וינצו במחנה בן הישראלית ואיש הישראלי
11 Now the son of the Israelite woman blasphemed the Name and cursed it. He was then taken toMoses (his mother's name was Shelomith daughter of Dibri, of the tribe of Dan).	11 ויקב בן האשה הישראלית את השם ויקלל ויביאו אתו אל משה ושם אמו שלמית בת דברי למטה דן
12 He was then put under guard until Yahweh's will should be made clear to them.	12 ויניחהו במשמר לפרש להם על פי יהוה
13 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	13 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר
14 'Take the man who pronounced the curse outside the camp. Al those who heard him must then laytheir hands on his head, and the whole community must then stone him.	14 הוצא את המקלל אל מחוץ למחנה וסמכו כל השמעים את ידיהם על ראשו ורגמו אתו כל העדה
15 Then say to the Israelites: "Anyone who curses his God will bear the consequences of his sin,	15 ואל בני ישראל תדבר לאמר איש איש כי יקלל אלהיו ונשא חטאו
16 and anyone who blasphemes the name of Yahweh wil be put to death; the whole community wilstone him; be he alien or native-born, if he blasphemes the Name, he wil be put to death.	16 ונקב שם יהוה מות יומת רגום ירגמו בו כל העדה כגר כאזרח בנקבו שם יומת
17 "Anyone who strikes down any other human being will be put to death.	17 ואיש כי יכה כל נפש אדם מות יומת
18 "Anyone who strikes down an animal will make restitution for it: a life for a life.	18 ומכה נפש בהמה ישלמנה נפש תחת נפש
19 "Anyone who injures a neighbour shall receive the same in return,	19 ואיש כי יתן מום בעמיתו כאשר עשה כן יעשה לו
20 broken limb for broken limb, eye for eye, tooth for tooth. As the injury inflicted, so will be the injurysuffered.	20 שבר תחת שבר עין תחת עין שן תחת שן כאשר יתן מום באדם כן ינתן בו
21 Whoever strikes down an animal wil make restitution for it, and whoever strikes down a human beingwil be put to death.	21 ומכה בהמה ישלמנה ומכה אדם יומת
22 The sentence you pass wil be the same, whether on native-born or on alien; for I am Yahweh yourGod." '	22 משפט אחד יהיה לכם כגר כאזרח יהיה כי אני יהוה אלהיכם
23 Moses having told the Israelites this, they took the man who had pronounced the curse out of thecamp and stoned him. And so the Israelites carried out Yahweh's order to Moses.	23 וידבר משה אל בני ישראל ויוציאו את המקלל אל מחוץ למחנה וירגמו אתו אבן ובני ישראל עשו כאשר צוה יהוה את משה
