Isaiah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.	1 Nell'anno della morte del re Ozia vidi il Signore seduto su un trono alto ed elevato, e i suoi lembi riempivano il tempio.
2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;	2 Dei serafini stavano sopra di lui; ognuno di essi aveva sei ali; con due si coprivano la faccia, con due si coprivano i piedi e con due volavano.
3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.	3 L'uno all'altro gridavano dicendo: "Santo, santo, santo è il Signore degli eserciti; tutta la terra è piena della sua gloria".
4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.	4 Gli stipiti delle soglie tremavano per la voce di quelli che gridavano, mentre il tempio si riempiva di fumo.
5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'	5 E dissi: "Ohimè, sono perduto, poiché sono un uomo dalle labbra impure, e vivo in mezzo a un popolo dalle labbra impure; eppure i miei occhi hanno visto il Re, il Signore degli eserciti!".
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.	6 Uno dei serafini volò verso di me tenendo nella mano un carbone acceso, che aveva preso con delle molle dall'altare.
7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'	7 Egli mi toccò la bocca dicendo: "Ecco, questo ha toccato le tue labbra; la tua colpa è rimossa e il tuo peccato espiato".
8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'	8 Poi udii la voce del Signore che diceva: "Chi manderò? Chi andrà per noi?". E risposi: "Eccomi, manda me!".
9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"	9 Allora disse: "Va' e di' a questo popolo: Ascoltate bene, ma senza comprendere, osservate bene, ma senza riconoscere.
10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'	10 Indurisci il cuore di questo popolo, appesantisci le sue orecchie, vela i suoi occhi, affinché non veda con i suoi occhi né ascolti con le sue orecchie né intenda con il suo cuore, si converta e guarisca".
11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,	11 Io dissi: "Fino a quando, Signore?". Egli rispose: "Fino a che le città non saranno deserte, senza abitanti, le case senza uomini e il paese devastato e desolato".
12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.	12 Il Signore allontanerà la popolazione e vi sarà grande abbandono in mezzo al paese.
13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'	13 Vi rimarrà una decima parte ma sarà di nuovo consumata, come la quercia e il terebinto, di cui, abbattuti, resta solo il ceppo. Una semente santa è il ceppo.
