Isaiah 6

1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.	1 Nell'anno, in cui si morì il re Ozia, io vidi il Signore sedente sopra un trono eccelso, ed elevato; e le estremità (della veste) di lui riempievano il tempio.
2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;	2 Intorno al trono stavano i Serafini, ognuno di essi aveva sei ale: con due velavano la faccia di lui, e con due velavano i piedi di lui, e con due volavano.
3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.	3 E ad alta voce cantavano alternativamente, e dicevano: Santo, santo, santo il Signore Dio degli eserciti; della gloria di lui è piena tutta la terra.
4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.	4 E si smossero i cardini delle porte alla voce del cantante, e la casa si empiè di fumo.
5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'	5 Ed io dissi: Guai a me, perchè ho taciuto, perchè uomo di labbra immonde son io, e vivo in mezzo ad un popolo di labbra immonde, ed il Re Signor degli eserciti ho veduto cogli occhi miei.
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.	6 E volò a me uno de' Serafini, ed avea nella sua mano una pietruzza, la quale avea colle molle presa di su l'altare.
7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'	7 E toccò la mia bocca, e disse: Ecco che questo ha toccate le tue labbra, e sarà tolta la tua iniquità, e sarà lavato il tuo peccato.
8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'	8 E udii la voce del Signor, che di ceva: Chi manderò io? e chi anderà per noi? E io dissi: Eccomi, manda me.
9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"	9 Ed egli disse: Va, e dirai a questo popolo: Ascoltate, è non vogliate capire: e vedete, e non vogliate intenderla.
10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'	10 Acceca il cuore di questo popolo e istupidisci le sue orecchie, e chiudi a lui gli occhi, affinchè non avvenga, che co' suoi occhi egli vegga, e oda co' suoi orecchi, e col cuore comprenda, e convertasi, ed io lo sani.
11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,	11 E dissi: Fino a quando, o Signore? Ed egli disse: Fino a tanto, che desolate rimangano le città, senza di chi le abiti, e le case senza uomo, e la terra sarà lasciata deserta.
12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.	12 E il Signore manderà lontano gli uomini, e moltiplicheranno gli abbandonati sopra la terra.
13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'	13 Ed ancora ella sarà decimata: e di nuovo sarà mostrata a dito come un terebinto, od una quercia, che spandeva i suoi rami: seme santo sarà quello, che di lei resterà in piedi.
