Isaiah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.	1 El año de la muerte del rey Ozías vi al Señor sentado en un trono excelso y elevado, y sus haldas llenaban el templo.
2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;	2 Unos serafines se mantenían erguidos por encima de él; cada uno tenía seis alas: con un par se cubrían la faz, con otro par se cubrían los pies, y con el otro par aleteaban,
3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.	3 Y se gritaban el uno al otro: «Santo, santo, santo, Yahveh Sebaot: llena está toda la tierra de su gloria»..
4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.	4 Se conmovieron los quicios y los dinteles a la voz de los que clamaban, y la Casa se llenó de humo.
5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'	5 Y dije: «¡Ay de mí, que estoy perdido, pues soy un hombre de labios impuros, y entre un pueblo de labios impuros habito: que al rey Yahveh Sebaot han visto mis ojos!»
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.	6 Entonces voló hacia mí uno de los serafines con una brasa en la mano, que con las tenazas había tomado de sobre el altar,
7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'	7 y tocó mi boca y dijo: «He aquí que esto ha tocado tus labios: se ha retirado tu culpa, tu pecado está expiado».
8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'	8 Y percibí la voz del Señor que decía: «¿A quién enviaré? ¿y quién irá de parte nuestra»? Dije: «Heme aquí: envíame».
9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"	9 Dijo: «Ve y di a ese pueblo: “Escuchad bien, pero no entendáis, ved bien, pero no comprendáis.”
10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'	10 Engorda el corazón de ese pueblo hazle duro de oídos, y pégale los ojos, no sea que vea con sus ojos. y oiga con sus oídos, y entienda con su corazón, y se convierta y se le cure».
11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,	11 Yo dije: «¿Hasta dónde, Señor?» Dijo: «Hasta que se vacíen las ciudades y queden sin habitantes, las casas sin hombres, la campiña desolada,
12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.	12 y haya alejado Yahveh a las gentes, y cunda el abandono dentro del país.
13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'	13 Aun el décimo que quede en él volverá a ser devastado como la encina o el roble, en cuya tala queda un tocón: semilla santa será su tocón».
