Isaiah 6

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 In the year of King Uzziah's death I saw the Lord seated on a high and lofty throne; his train fil ed thesanctuary.	1 NELL’anno che morì il re Uzzia, io vidi il Signore, che sedeva sopra un alto ed elevato trono; e il lembo della sua veste riempieva il Tempio.
2 Above him stood seraphs, each one with six wings: two to cover its face, two to cover its feet and two forflying;	2 I Serafini stavano di sopra ad esso; e ciascun d’essi avea sei ale; con due copriva la sua faccia, e con due copriva i suoi piedi, e con due volava.
3 and they were shouting these words to each other: Holy, holy, holy is Yahweh Sabaoth. His glory fil s thewhole earth.	3 E l’uno gridava all’altro, e diceva: Santo, Santo, Santo è il Signor degli eserciti; Tutta la terra è piena della sua gloria.
4 The door-posts shook at the sound of their shouting, and the Temple was ful of smoke.	4 E gli stipiti delle soglie furono scrollati per la voce di colui che gridava, e la Casa fu ripiena di fumo
5 Then I said: 'Woe is me! I am lost, for I am a man of unclean lips and I live among a people of uncleanlips, and my eyes have seen the King, Yahweh Sabaoth.'	5 Ed io dissi: Ahi! lasso me! perciocchè io son deserto; conciossiachè io sia uomo immondo di labbra, ed abiti in mezzo di un popolo immondo di labbra; e pur gli occhi miei hanno veduto il Re, il Signor degli eserciti.
6 Then one of the seraphs flew to me, holding in its hand a live coal which it had taken from the altar witha pair of tongs.	6 Ed uno de’ Serafini volò a me, avendo in mano un carbone acceso, il quale egli avea preso con le molle d’in su l’Altare.
7 With this it touched my mouth and said: 'Look, this has touched your lips, your guilt has been removedand your sin forgiven.'	7 E l’accostò alla mia bocca, e disse: Ecco, questo ha toccate le tue labbra; or sarà la tua iniquità rimossa, e il tuo peccato purgato.
8 I then heard the voice of the Lord saying: 'Whom shal I send? Who will go for us?' And I said, 'Here amI, send me.'	8 Poi io udii la voce del Signore che diceva: Chi manderò? e chi andrà per noi? Ed io dissi: Eccomi, manda me
9 He said: 'Go, and say to this people, "Listen and listen, but never understand! Look and look, but neverperceive!"	9 Ed egli disse: Va’, e di’ a questo popolo: Ascoltate pure, ma non intendiate; e riguardate pure, ma non conosciate.
10 Make this people's heart coarse, make their ears dul , shut their eyes tight, or they wil use their eyes tosee, use their ears to hear, use their heart to understand, and change their ways and be healed.'	10 Ingrassa il cuore di questo popolo, ed aggravagli le orecchie, e turagli gli occhi; acciocchè non vegga co’ suoi occhi, e non oda colle sue orecchie, e non intenda col suo cuore; e ch’egli non si converta, e che Iddio non lo guarisca.
11 I then said, 'Until when, Lord?' He replied, 'Until towns are in ruins and deserted, houses untenantedand a great desolation reigns in the land,	11 E io dissi: Infino a quando, Signore? Ed egli disse: Finchè le città sieno state desolate, senza abitatore; e che le case sieno senza uomini; e che la terra sia ridotta in deserto, e desolazione;
12 and Yahweh has driven the people away and the country is total y abandoned.	12 e che il Signore abbia allontanati gli uomini; e che la solitudine sia stata lungo tempo in mezzo della terra.
13 And suppose one-tenth of them are left in it, that wil be stripped again, like the terebinth, like the oak,cut back to the stock; their stock is a holy seed.'	13 Ma pure ancora vi resterà in essa una decima parte; ma quella di nuovo sarà consumata. Come i roveri, e le quercie, che sono tagliati hanno ancora il tronco, così il seme santo sarà il tronco di essa
