NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 There wil be a king who reigns uprightly and princes who rule with fair judgement;	1 Ecco che il re regnerà con giustizia, e i principi governeranno con rettitudine.
2 each will be like a shelter from the wind, a refuge from the storm, like streams on arid ground, like theshade of a solid rock in a desolate land.	2 E ciascuno sarà come al riparo dal vento e nascosto alla tempesta, come ruscello d'acqua nella siccità, come ombra di rupe che s'innalza in arida landa.
3 The eyes of seers wil no longer be closed, the ears of hearers wil be alert,	3 Non saranno più nelle tenebre gli occhi dei veggenti, gli orecchi degli uditori staranno attenti ad ascoltare,
4 the heart of the hasty wil learn to think things over, and the tongue of stammerers wil speak promptlyand clearly.	4 e il cuor degli stolti comprenderà la scienza, e la lingua dei balbuzienti parlerà speditamente e con chiarezza.
5 The fool wil no longer be cal ed generous, nor the rascal be styled bountiful.	5 L'insensato non sarà più chiamato principe, e il fraudolento non sarà chiamato grande.
6 For the fool speaks fol y and his heart is set on vil ainy; he is godless in his actions and his wordsascribe error to Yahweh; he starves the hungry of their food and refuses drink to the thirsty.	6 Certo lo stolto parlerà di fatuità, il suo cuore si darà all'iniquità, per compire l'ipocrisia e parlar con doppiezza del Signore, e render vuota la persona dell'affamato e togliere la bevanda a chi ha sete.
7 Everything to do with the rascal is evil, he devises infamous plans to ruin the poor with lying wordseven when the needy has right on his side;	7 Gli strumenti del fraudolento son crudeli: infatti egli ordisce degli intrighi per rovinare con menzognere parole i mansueti, mentre il povero parla di giustizia.
8 but the noble person plans only noble things, noble his every move.	8 Ma il principe penserà cose degne di un principe, e starà al di sopra dei capi.
9 Stand up, you haughty women, listen to my words; you over-confident daughters, pay attention to whatI say.	9 Donne ricche, alzatevi — Statemi a sentire, figlie spensierate — State attente al mio discorso.

12 Beat your breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine,	12 Piangete il petto che allatta. — Il bel paese, la fertile vigna.
13 for my people's soil where the bramble-bush wil be growing and for al the happy houses, for therejoicing city.	13 Sulla terra del mio popolo — Saliranno le spine e i rovi quanto più sopra le case felici — Della città esultante?
14 For the citadel wil be abandoned and the thronged city deserted, Ophel and the Keep wil be denudedfor ever, the playground of wild donkeys and the pasture of flocks,	14 La casa è abbandonata — La città piena di gente è derelitta, palpabili tenebre — Coprono le spelonche in eterno, sollazzo degli onagri — Pascolo dei greggi.

18 My people will live in a peaceful home, in peaceful houses, tranquil dwel ings.	18 E il mio popolo si riposerà nella bellezza della pace, nelle case sicure, nella quiete doviziosa.
19 And should the forest be total y destroyed and the city gravely humiliated,	19 Ma la grandine piomberà sulla foresta, e la città sarà oltremodo umi liata.
20 You wil be happy to sow wherever there is water and to let the ox and donkey roam free.	20 Beati voi che seminate sopra tutte le acque, e lasciate libero il piede del bove e dell'asino.
