Sirach 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA CEI 2008
1 Whoever fears the Lord wil act like this, and whoever grasps the Law wil obtain wisdom.	1 Chi teme il Signore farà tutto questo, chi è saldo nella legge otterrà la sapienza.
2 She will come to meet him like a mother, and receive him like a virgin bride.	2 Ella gli andrà incontro come una madre, lo accoglierà come una vergine sposa;
3 She will give him the bread of understanding to eat, and the water of wisdom to drink.	3 lo nutrirà con il pane dell’intelligenza e lo disseterà con l’acqua della sapienza.
4 He will lean on her and wil not fal , he wil rely on her and not be put to shame.	4 Egli si appoggerà a lei e non vacillerà, a lei si affiderà e non resterà confuso.
5 She will raise him high above his neighbours, and in ful assembly she wil open his mouth.	5 Ella lo innalzerà sopra i suoi compagni e gli farà aprire bocca in mezzo all’assemblea.
6 He will find happiness and a crown of joy, he wil inherit an everlasting name.	6 Troverà gioia e una corona di esultanza e un nome eterno egli erediterà.
7 Fools wil not gain possession of her, nor will sinners set eyes on her.	7 Gli stolti non raggiungeranno mai la sapienza e i peccatori non la contempleranno mai.
8 She stands remote from pride, and liars cannot cal her to mind.	8 Ella sta lontana dagli arroganti, e i bugiardi non si ricorderanno di lei.
9 Praise is unseemly in a sinner's mouth, since it has not been put there by the Lord.	9 La lode non si addice in bocca al peccatore, perché non gli è stata concessa dal Signore.
10 For praise should be uttered only in wisdom, and the Lord himself then prompts it.	10 La lode infatti va celebrata con sapienza ed è il Signore che la dirige.
11 Do not say, 'The Lord was responsible for my sinning,' for he does not do what he hates.	11 Non dire: «A causa del Signore sono venuto meno», perché egli non fa quello che detesta.
12 Do not say, 'It was he who led me astray,' for he has no use for a sinner.	12 Non dire: «Egli mi ha tratto in errore», perché non ha bisogno di un peccatore.
13 The Lord hates al that is foul, and no one who fears him will love it either.	13 Il Signore odia ogni abominio: esso non è amato da quelli che lo temono.
14 He himself made human beings in the beginning, and then left them free to make their own decisions.	14 Da principio Dio creò l’uomo e lo lasciò in balìa del suo proprio volere.
15 If you choose, you will keep the commandments and so be faithful to his wil .	15 Se tu vuoi, puoi osservare i comandamenti; l’essere fedele dipende dalla tua buona volontà.
16 He has set fire and water before you; put out your hand to whichever you prefer.	16 Egli ti ha posto davanti fuoco e acqua: là dove vuoi tendi la tua mano.
17 A human being has life and death before him; whichever he prefers wil be given him.	17 Davanti agli uomini stanno la vita e la morte: a ognuno sarà dato ciò che a lui piacerà.
18 For vast is the wisdom of the Lord; he is almighty and al -seeing.	18 Grande infatti è la sapienza del Signore; forte e potente, egli vede ogni cosa.
19 His eyes are on those who fear him, he notes every human action.	19 I suoi occhi sono su coloro che lo temono, egli conosce ogni opera degli uomini.
20 He never commanded anyone to be godless, he has given no one permission to sin.	20 A nessuno ha comandato di essere empio e a nessuno ha dato il permesso di peccare.
