Sirach 15

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Whoever fears the Lord wil act like this, and whoever grasps the Law wil obtain wisdom.	1 El que teme al Señor hace todo esto y el que se aferra a la Ley logrará la sabiduría.
2 She will come to meet him like a mother, and receive him like a virgin bride.	2 Ella le saldrá al encuentro como una madre y lo recibirá como una joven esposa,
3 She will give him the bread of understanding to eat, and the water of wisdom to drink.	3 lo alimentará con el pan de la inteligencia y le hará beber el agua de la sabiduría.
4 He will lean on her and wil not fal , he wil rely on her and not be put to shame.	4 El se apoyará en ella, y no vacilará, se unirá a ella, y no quedará confundido.
5 She will raise him high above his neighbours, and in ful assembly she wil open his mouth.	5 Ella lo exaltará por encima de sus compañeros y le abrirá la boca en medio de la asamblea.
6 He will find happiness and a crown of joy, he wil inherit an everlasting name.	6 El encontrará el gozo y la corona de la alegría y recibirá en herencia un nombre perdurable.
7 Fools wil not gain possession of her, nor will sinners set eyes on her.	7 Nunca la poseerán los que carecen de inteligencia, ni los hombres pecadores la verán jamás.
8 She stands remote from pride, and liars cannot cal her to mind.	8 Ella se mantiene alejada del orgullo, y los mentirosos no piensan en ella.
9 Praise is unseemly in a sinner's mouth, since it has not been put there by the Lord.	9 No cabe la alabanza en labios del pecador, porque el Señor no se la envía:
10 For praise should be uttered only in wisdom, and the Lord himself then prompts it.	10 sin sabiduría no hay alabanza, y es el Señor el que la inspira.
11 Do not say, 'The Lord was responsible for my sinning,' for he does not do what he hates.	11 No digas: «Fue el Señor el que me hizo claudicar», porque él no hace nunca lo que detesta.
12 Do not say, 'It was he who led me astray,' for he has no use for a sinner.	12 No digas: «El me hizo extraviar», porque él no necesita de un hombre pecador.
13 The Lord hates al that is foul, and no one who fears him will love it either.	13 El Señor detesta toda abominación, y nada abominable es amado por los que lo temen.
14 He himself made human beings in the beginning, and then left them free to make their own decisions.	14 El hizo al hombre en el principio y lo dejó librado a su propio albedrío.
15 If you choose, you will keep the commandments and so be faithful to his wil .	15 Si quieres, puedes observar los mandamientos y cumplir fielmente lo que le agrada.
16 He has set fire and water before you; put out your hand to whichever you prefer.	16 El puso ante ti el fuego y el agua: hacia lo que quieras, extenderás tu mano.
17 A human being has life and death before him; whichever he prefers wil be given him.	17 Ante los hombres están la vida y la muerte: a cada uno se le dará lo que prefiera.
18 For vast is the wisdom of the Lord; he is almighty and al -seeing.	18 Porque grande es la sabiduría del Señor, él es fuerte y poderoso, y ve todas las cosas.
19 His eyes are on those who fear him, he notes every human action.	19 Sus ojos están fijos en aquellos que lo temen y él conoce todas las obras del hombre.
20 He never commanded anyone to be godless, he has given no one permission to sin.	20 A nadie le ordenó ser impío ni dio a nadie autorización para pecar.
