Sirach 15

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Whoever fears the Lord wil act like this, and whoever grasps the Law wil obtain wisdom.	1 Así hace el que teme al Señor, el que abraza la Ley logra sabiduría.
2 She will come to meet him like a mother, and receive him like a virgin bride.	2 Como una madre le sale ella al encuentro, le acoge como una esposa virgen.
3 She will give him the bread of understanding to eat, and the water of wisdom to drink.	3 Le alimenta con pan de inteligencia, el agua de la sabiduría le da a beber.
4 He will lean on her and wil not fal , he wil rely on her and not be put to shame.	4 Se apoya él en ella y no se dobla, a ella se adhiere y no queda confundido.
5 She will raise him high above his neighbours, and in ful assembly she wil open his mouth.	5 Ella le exalta por encima de sus prójimos, en medio de la asamblea le abre la boca.
6 He will find happiness and a crown of joy, he wil inherit an everlasting name.	6 Contento y corona de gloria encuentra él, nombre eterno en herencia recibe.
7 Fools wil not gain possession of her, nor will sinners set eyes on her.	7 Jamás la lograrán los insensatos, los pecadores nunca la verán.
8 She stands remote from pride, and liars cannot cal her to mind.	8 Lejos está del orgullo, los mentirosos no se acuerdan de ella.
9 Praise is unseemly in a sinner's mouth, since it has not been put there by the Lord.	9 No cabe la alabanza en boca del pecador, porque no le viene del Señor.
10 For praise should be uttered only in wisdom, and the Lord himself then prompts it.	10 Que en la sabiduría se expresa la alabanza, y el Señor la guía por buen camino.
11 Do not say, 'The Lord was responsible for my sinning,' for he does not do what he hates.	11 No digas: «Por el Señor me he apartado», que lo que él destesta, no lo hace.
12 Do not say, 'It was he who led me astray,' for he has no use for a sinner.	12 No digas: «El me ha extraviado», pues él no ha menester del pecador.
13 The Lord hates al that is foul, and no one who fears him will love it either.	13 Toda abominación odia el Señor, tampoco la aman los que le temen a él.
14 He himself made human beings in the beginning, and then left them free to make their own decisions.	14 El fue quien al principio hizo al hombre, y le dejó en manos de su propio albedrío.
15 If you choose, you will keep the commandments and so be faithful to his wil .	15 Si tú quieres, guardarás los mandamientos, para permanecer fiel a su beneplácito.
16 He has set fire and water before you; put out your hand to whichever you prefer.	16 El te ha puesto delante fuego y agua, a donde quieras puedes llevar tu mano.
17 A human being has life and death before him; whichever he prefers wil be given him.	17 Ante los hombres la vida está y la muerte, lo que prefiera cada cual, se le dará.
18 For vast is the wisdom of the Lord; he is almighty and al -seeing.	18 Que grande es la sabiduría del Señor, fuerte es su poder, todo lo ve.
19 His eyes are on those who fear him, he notes every human action.	19 Sus ojos están sobre los que le temen, él conoce todas las obras del hombre.
20 He never commanded anyone to be godless, he has given no one permission to sin.	20 A nadie ha mandado ser impío, a nadie ha dado licencia de pecar.
