NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 CHORUS: Where did your lover go, O loveliest of women? Which way did your lover turn so that we canhelp you seek him?	1 [Coro] ¿Adónde se ha ido tu amado, tú, la más hermosa de las mujeres? ¿Adónde se dirigió tu amado, para que lo busquemos contigo?
2 BELOVED: My love went down to his garden, to the beds of spices, to pasture his flock on the grass andgather lilies.	2 [La Amada] Mi amado ha bajado a su jardín, a los canteros perfumados, para apacentar su rebaño en los jardines, para recoger lirios.
3 I belong to my love, and my love to me. He pastures his flock among the lilies.	3 ¡Mi amado es para mí, y yo soy para mi amado, que apacienta su rebaño entre los lirios!
4 LOVER: You are fair as Tirzah, my beloved, enchanting as Jerusalem, formidable as an army!	4 [El Amado] ¡Eres bella, amiga mía, como Tirsá, hermosa como Jerusalén!
5 Turn your eyes away from me, they take me by assault! Your hair is like a flock of goats surging downthe slopes of Gilead.	5 Aparta de mí tus ojos, porque me fascinan. Tus cabellos son un rebaño de cabras que bajan por las laderas de Galaad.
6 Your teeth are like a flock of ewes as they come up from being washed. Each one has its twin, not oneunpaired with another.	6 Tus dientes, como un rebaño de ovejas que acaban de bañarse: todas ellas han tenido mellizos y no hay ninguna estéril.
7 Your cheeks, behind your veil, are halves of pomegranate.	7 Como cortes de granada son tus mejillas, detrás de tu velo.
8 There are sixty queens and eighty concubines (and countless girls).	8 Son sesenta las reinas, ochenta las concubinas, e innumerables las jóvenes.
9 My dove is my only one, perfect and mine. She is the darling of her mother, the favourite of the one whobore her. Girls have seen her and proclaimed her blessed, queens and concubines have sung her praises,	9 Pero una sola es mi paloma mi preciosa. Ella es la única de su madre, la preferida de la que la engendró: al verla, la felicitan las jóvenes, las reinas y concubinas la elogian.
10 'Who is this arising like the dawn, fair as the moon, resplendent as the sun, formidable as an army?'	10 «¿Quién es esa que surge como la aurora, bella como la luna, resplandeciente como el sol, imponente como escuadrones con sus insignias?».
11 I went down to the nut orchard to see the fresh shoots in the val ey, to see if the vines were buddingand the pomegranate trees in flower.	11 [La Amada] Yo bajé al jardín de los nogales, a ver los retoños del valle, a ver si brotaba la viña, si florecían los granados...
12 Before I knew . . . my desire had hurled me onto the chariots of Amminadib!	12 Y sin que yo me diera cuenta, me encontré en la carroza con mi príncipe.
