Psalms 99

NEW JERUSALEM	NEW AMERICAN BIBLE
1 Yahweh is king, the peoples tremble; he is enthroned on the winged creatures, the earth shivers;	1 The LORD is king, the peoples tremble; God is enthroned on the cherubim, the earth quakes.
2 Yahweh is great in Zion. He is supreme over al nations;	2 The LORD is great on Zion, exalted above all the peoples.
3 let them praise your name, great and awesome; holy is he	3 Let them praise your great and awesome name: Holy is God!
4 and mighty! You are a king who loves justice, you established honesty, justice and uprightness; inJacob it is you who are active.	4 O mighty king, lover of justice, you alone have established fairness; you have created just rule in Jacob.
5 Exalt Yahweh our God, bow down at his footstool; holy is he!	5 Exalt the LORD, our God; bow down before his footstool; holy is God!
6 Moses and Aaron are among his priests, and Samuel, calling on his name; they called on Yahweh andhe answered them.	6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel among those who called on God's name; they called on the LORD, who answered them.
7 He spoke with them in the pil ar of fire, they obeyed his decrees, the Law he gave them.	7 From the pillar of cloud God spoke to them; they kept the decrees, the law they received.
8 Yahweh our God, you answered them, you were a God of forgiveness to them, but punished them fortheir sins.	8 O LORD, our God, you answered them; you were a forgiving God, though you punished their offenses.
9 Exalt Yahweh our God, bow down at his holy mountain; holy is Yahweh our God!	9 Exalt the LORD, our God; bow down before his holy mountain; holy is the LORD, our God.
