1 [Poem For Ethan the native-born] I shal sing the faithful love of Yahweh for ever, from age to age mylips shall declare your constancy,	1 Hino de Etã, ezraíta. Cantarei, eternamente, as bondades do Senhor; minha boca publicará sua fidelidade de geração em geração.
2 for you have said: love is built to last for ever, you have fixed your constancy firm in the heavens.	2 Com efeito, vós dissestes: A bondade é um edifício eterno. Vossa fidelidade firmastes no céu.
3 'I have made a covenant with my Chosen One, sworn an oath to my servant David:	3 Concluí, dizeis vós, uma aliança com o meu eleito; liguei-me por juramento a Davi, meu servo.
4 I have made your dynasty firm for ever, built your throne stable age after age.'Pause	4 Conservarei tua linhagem para sempre, manterei teu trono em todas as gerações.
5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh, your constancy in the gathering of your faithful.	5 Senhor, os céus celebram as vossas maravilhosas obras, e na assembléia dos anjos a vossas fidelidade.
6 Who in the skies can compare with Yahweh? Who among the sons of god can rival him?	6 Quem poderá, nas nuvens, igualar-se a Deus? Quem é semelhante ao Senhor entre os filhos de Deus?
7 God, awesome in the assembly of holy ones, great and dreaded among al who surround him,	7 Terrível é Deus na assembléia dos santos, maior e mais tremendo que todos os que o cercam.
8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, who is like you? Mighty Yahweh, your constancy is al round you!	8 Quem se compara a vós, Senhor, Deus dos exércitos? Sois forte, Senhor, e cheio de fidelidade.
9 You control the pride of the ocean, when its waves ride high you calm them.	9 Dominais o orgulho do mar, amainais suas ondas revoltas.
10 You split Rahab in two like a corpse, scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.	10 Calcastes Raab e o transportastes; com poderoso braço dispersastes vossos inimigos.
11 Yours are the heavens and yours the earth, the world and al it holds, you founded them;	11 Vossos são os céus e também a terra, vós que criastes o globo e tudo o que ele contém.
12 you created the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon hail your name with joy.	12 O norte e o sul vós os fizestes; Tabor e Hermon em vosso nome exultam.
13 Yours is a strong arm, mighty your hand, your right hand raised high;	13 Tendes o poder em vosso braço, a firmeza na mão, a autoridade em vossa destra.
14 Saving Justice and Fair Judgement the foundations of your throne, Faithful Love and Constancymarch before you.	14 A justiça e o direito são o fundamento de vosso trono, a bondade e a fidelidade vos precedem.
15 How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, Yahweh, in the light of yourpresence.	15 Feliz o povo que vos sabe louvar: caminha na luz de vossa face, Senhor.
16 In your name they rejoice al day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.	16 Vosso nome lhe é causa de contínua alegria, pela vossa justiça ele se glorifica,
17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;	17 porque sois o esplendor de sua força, e é vosso favor que nos faz erguer a cabeça,
18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of Israel our king.	18 pois no Senhor está o nosso escudo, e nosso rei no Santo de Israel.
19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raisedup a man chosen from my people.	19 Outrora, em visão, falastes aos vossos santos e dissestes-lhes: Impus a coroa a um herói, escolhi meu eleito dentre o povo.
20 'I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil.	20 Encontrei Davi, meu servidor, e o sagrei com a minha santa unção.
21 My hand wil always be with him, my arm wil make him strong.	21 Assistir-lhe-á sempre a minha mão, e meu braço o fortalecerá.
22 'No enemy wil be able to outwit him, no wicked man overcome him;	22 Não o há de surpreender o inimigo, nem ousará oprimi-lo o malvado.
23 I shal crush his enemies before him, strike his opponents dead.	23 Sob seus olhos esmagarei os seus contrários, serão feridos aqueles que o odeiam.
24 'My constancy and faithful love will be with him, in my name his strength wil be triumphant.	24 Com ele ficarão minha fidelidade e bondade, pelo meu nome crescerá o seu poder.
25 I shal establish his power over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.	25 Estenderei a sua mão por sobre o mar, e a sua destra acima dos rios.
26 'He wil cry to me, "You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation!"	26 Ele me invocará: Vós sois meu Pai, vós sois meu Deus e meu rochedo protetor.
27 So I shal make him my first-born, the highest of earthly kings.	27 Por isso eu o constituirei meu primogênito, o mais excelso dentre todos os reis da terra.
28 'I shal maintain my faithful love for him always, my covenant with him wil stay firm.	28 Assegurado lhe estará o favor eterno, e indissolúvel será meu pacto com ele.
29 I have established his dynasty for ever, his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.	29 Dar-lhe-ei uma perpétua descendência, seu trono terá a duração dos céus.
30 'Should his descendants desert my law, and not keep to my rulings,	30 Se, porém, seus filhos abandonarem minha lei, se não observarem os meus preceitos,
31 should they violate my statutes, and not observe my commandments,	31 se violarem as minhas prescrições e não obedecerem às minhas ordens,
32 'then I shal punish their offences with the rod, their guilt with the whip,	32 eu punirei com vara a sua transgressão, e a sua falta castigarei com açoite.

36 'His dynasty shal endure for ever, his throne like the sun before me,	36 Sua posteridade permanecerá eternamente, e seu trono, como o sol, subsistirá diante de mim,

38 Yet you yourself -- you have spurned and rejected, and have vented your wrath on your anointed,	38 E, contudo, vós o repelistes e rejeitastes, gravemente vos irritastes contra aquele que vos é consagrado.
39 you have repudiated the covenant with your servant, dishonoured his crown in the dust.	39 Rompestes a aliança feita com o vosso servidor, lançastes por terra sua coroa,
40 You have pierced al his defences, and laid his strongholds in ruins,	40 derrubastes todos os seus muros, arruinastes as suas fortalezas.
41 everyone passing by plunders him, he has become the butt of his neighbours.	41 Saquearam-no todos os transeuntes, e o escarneceram os seus vizinhos.
42 You have raised high the right hand of his opponents, have made al his enemies happy;	42 A mão de seus inimigos exaltastes, de gozo enchestes todos os seus contrários.
43 you have snapped off his sword on a rock, and failed to support him in battle.	43 Embotastes o fio de sua espada, não o sustentastes na batalha.
44 You have stripped him of his splendid sceptre, and toppled his throne to the ground.	44 Fizestes terminar seu esplendor, por terra derrubastes o seu trono.
45 You have aged him before his time, enveloped him in shame.Pause	45 Abreviastes a sua adolescência, e de ignomínia o cobristes.
46 How long, Yahweh, will you remain hidden? For ever? Is your anger to go on smouldering like a fire?	46 Até quando, Senhor? Até quando continuareis escondido? Até quando estará acesa a vossa cólera?
47 Remember me; how long have I left? For what pointless end did you create al the children of Adam?	47 Lembrai-vos como é curta a nossa vida, quão efêmeros os homens que criastes.
48 Who can live and never see death? Who can save himself from the clutches of Sheol?Pause	48 Qual é o vivo que se livra da morte, ou pode subtrair a sua alma ao poder da morada dos mortos?
49 Lord, what of those pledges of your faithful love? You made an oath to David by your constancy.	49 Vossas bondades de outrora, ó Senhor, onde estão? E os juramentos que a Davi fizestes de fidelidade?
50 Do not forget the insults to your servant; I take to heart the taunts of the nations,	50 Considerai, Senhor, a vergonha imposta aos vossos servidores. Levo em meu seio ultrajes das nações pagãs,
51 which your enemies have level ed, Yahweh, have level ed at the footsteps of your anointed!	51 insultos de vossos inimigos, Senhor, injúrias que lançam até nos passos daquele que vos é consagrado.
52 Blessed be Yahweh for ever. Amen, Amen.	52 Bendito seja o Senhor eternamente! Amém! Amém!
