Psalms 89

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [Poem For Ethan the native-born] I shal sing the faithful love of Yahweh for ever, from age to age mylips shall declare your constancy,	1 Poema de Etam, el aborigen.
2 for you have said: love is built to last for ever, you have fixed your constancy firm in the heavens.	2 Cantaré eternamente el amor del Señor, proclamaré tu fidelidad por todas las generaciones.
3 'I have made a covenant with my Chosen One, sworn an oath to my servant David:	3 Porque tú has dicho: «Mi amor se mantendrá eternamente, mi fidelidad está afianzada en el cielo.
4 I have made your dynasty firm for ever, built your throne stable age after age.'Pause	4 Yo sellé una alianza con mi elegido, hice este juramento a David, mi servidor:
5 The heavens praise your wonders, Yahweh, your constancy in the gathering of your faithful.	5 «Estableceré tu descendencia para siempre, mantendré tu trono por todas las generaciones».
6 Who in the skies can compare with Yahweh? Who among the sons of god can rival him?	6 El cielo celebre tus maravillas, Señor, y tu fidelidad en la asamblea de los santos,
7 God, awesome in the assembly of holy ones, great and dreaded among al who surround him,	7 porque ¿quién es comparable al Señor en las alturas? ¿quién como el Señor entre los hijos de Dios?
8 Yahweh, God Sabaoth, who is like you? Mighty Yahweh, your constancy is al round you!	8 Dios es temible en el consejo de los santos, más grande y terrible que cuantos están a su alrededor,
9 You control the pride of the ocean, when its waves ride high you calm them.	9 Señor, Dios del universo, ¿hay alguien como tú? Tú eres fuerte y estás rodeado de fidelidad.
10 You split Rahab in two like a corpse, scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.	10 Tú dominas la soberbia del mar y calmas la altivez de sus olas;
11 Yours are the heavens and yours the earth, the world and al it holds, you founded them;	11 tú aplastaste a Rahab como a un cadáver, deshiciste a tus enemigos con tu brazo poderoso.
12 you created the north and the south, Tabor and Hermon hail your name with joy.	12 Tuyo es el cielo, tuya la tierra: tú cimentaste el mundo y todo lo que hay en él;
13 Yours is a strong arm, mighty your hand, your right hand raised high;	13 tú has creado el norte y el sur, el Hermón y el Tabor aclaman tu Nombre.
14 Saving Justice and Fair Judgement the foundations of your throne, Faithful Love and Constancymarch before you.	14 Tu brazo está lleno de poder, tu mano es fuerte, alta es tu derecha;
15 How blessed the nation that learns to acclaim you! They will live, Yahweh, in the light of yourpresence.	15 la Justicia y el Derecho son la base de tu trono, el Amor y la Fidelidad te preceden.
16 In your name they rejoice al day long, by your saving justice they are raised up.	16 ¡Feliz el pueblo que sabe aclamarte! Ellos caminarán a la luz de tu rostro;
17 You are the flower of their strength, by your favour our strength is triumphant;	17 se alegrarán sin cesar en tu Nombre, serán exaltados a causa de tu justicia.
18 for to Yahweh belongs our shield, to the Holy One of Israel our king.	18 Porque tú eres su gloria y su fuerza; con tu favor, acrecientas nuestro poder.
19 Once you spoke in a vision, to your faithful you said: 'I have given strength to a warrior, I have raisedup a man chosen from my people.	19 Sí, el Señor es nuestro escudo, el Santo de Israel es realmente nuestro rey.
20 'I have found David my servant, and anointed him with my holy oil.	20 Tú hablaste una vez en una visión y dijiste a tus amigos: «Impuse la corona a un valiente, exalté a un guerrero del pueblo.
21 My hand wil always be with him, my arm wil make him strong.	21 Encontré a David, mi servidor, y lo ungí con el óleo sagrado,
22 'No enemy wil be able to outwit him, no wicked man overcome him;	22 para que mi mano esté siempre con él y mi brazo lo haga poderoso.
23 I shal crush his enemies before him, strike his opponents dead.	23 El enemigo no lo aventajará, ni podrán oprimirlo los malvados:
24 'My constancy and faithful love will be with him, in my name his strength wil be triumphant.	24 yo aplastaré a sus adversarios ante él y golpearé a los que lo odian.
25 I shal establish his power over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.	25 Mi fidelidad y mi amor lo acompañarán, su poder crecerá a causa de mi Nombre:
26 'He wil cry to me, "You are my father, my God, the rock of my salvation!"	26 extenderé su mano sobre el mar y su derecha sobre los ríos.
27 So I shal make him my first-born, the highest of earthly kings.	27 El me dirá: «Tú eres mi padre, mi Dios, mi Roca salvadora».
28 'I shal maintain my faithful love for him always, my covenant with him wil stay firm.	28 Yo lo constituiré mi primogénito, el más alto de los reyes de la tierra.
29 I have established his dynasty for ever, his throne to be as lasting as the heavens.	29 Le aseguraré mi amor eternamente, y mi alianza será estable para él;
30 'Should his descendants desert my law, and not keep to my rulings,	30 le daré una descendencia eterna y un trono duradero como el cielo.
31 should they violate my statutes, and not observe my commandments,	31 Si sus hijos abandonan mi enseñanza y no proceden de acuerdo con mis juicios;
32 'then I shal punish their offences with the rod, their guilt with the whip,	32 si profanan mis preceptos y no observan mis mandamientos,
33 but I shal never withdraw from him my faithful love, I shal not belie my constancy.	33 castigaré sus rebeldías con la vara y sus culpas, con el látigo.
34 'I shal not violate my covenant, I shal not withdraw the word once spoken.	34 Pero a él no le retiraré mi amor ni desmentiré mi fidelidad;
35 I have sworn by my holiness, once and for al , never will I break faith with David.	35 no quebrantaré mi alianza ni cambiaré lo que salió de mis labios.
36 'His dynasty shal endure for ever, his throne like the sun before me,	36 Una vez juré por mi santidad –¡jamás mentiré a David!–:
37 as the moon is established for ever, a faithful witness in the skies.'Pause	37 «Su descendencia permanecerá para siempre y su trono, como el sol en mi presencia;
38 Yet you yourself -- you have spurned and rejected, and have vented your wrath on your anointed,	38 como la luna, que permanece para siempre, será firme su sede en las alturas».
39 you have repudiated the covenant with your servant, dishonoured his crown in the dust.	39 Pero tú te has irritado contra tu Ungido, lo has rechazado y despreciado;
40 You have pierced al his defences, and laid his strongholds in ruins,	40 desdeñaste la alianza con tu servidor, profanaste por tierra su insignia real.
41 everyone passing by plunders him, he has become the butt of his neighbours.	41 Abrirse brechas en todas sus murallas, redujiste a escombros todas sus fortalezas;
42 You have raised high the right hand of his opponents, have made al his enemies happy;	42 los que pasan por el camino lo despojan, y es la burla de todos sus vecinos.
43 you have snapped off his sword on a rock, and failed to support him in battle.	43 Alzaste la mano de sus adversarios, llenaste de alegría a sus enemigos;
44 You have stripped him of his splendid sceptre, and toppled his throne to the ground.	44 mellaste el filo de su espada y no lo sostuviste en el combate.
45 You have aged him before his time, enveloped him in shame.Pause	45 Le quitaste su cetro glorioso y derribaste por tierra su trono;
46 How long, Yahweh, will you remain hidden? For ever? Is your anger to go on smouldering like a fire?	46 abreviaste los días de su juventud y lo cubriste de vergüenza.
47 Remember me; how long have I left? For what pointless end did you create al the children of Adam?	47 ¿Hasta cuándo, Señor? ¿Te ocultarás para siempre? ¿Arderá tu furor como el fuego?
48 Who can live and never see death? Who can save himself from the clutches of Sheol?Pause	48 Recuerda, Señor, qué corta es mi vida y qué efímeros creaste a los hombres.
49 Lord, what of those pledges of your faithful love? You made an oath to David by your constancy.	49 ¿Quién vivirá sin ver la muerte? ¿Quién se librará de las garras del Abismo?
50 Do not forget the insults to your servant; I take to heart the taunts of the nations,	50 ¿Dónde está, Señor, tu amor de otro tiempo, el que juraste a David por tu fidelidad?
51 which your enemies have level ed, Yahweh, have level ed at the footsteps of your anointed!	51 Recuerda, Señor, las afrentas de tu servidor: yo tengo que soportar los insultos de los pueblos.
52 Blessed be Yahweh for ever. Amen, Amen.	52 ¡Cómo afrentan las huellas de tu Ungido!
	53 ¡Bendito sea el Señor eternamente! ¡Amén! ¡Amén!
